I ordered what I thought was the correct air filter for my car. When it arrived, it didn't fit. I tried to arrange a return and refund on their web site, but the process is very confusing. In my confusion, I accidentally pressed "yes" where I should have pressed "no" in answer to whether I installed the part on the car. This rendered the part non-refundable, with no way to correct my data entry error. I didn't install the part, I just checked to see if it fit. There's no customer service line to call to correct this problem. Now I'm stuck with a part I can't use and unable to get a refund.
I came online and saw all these horrible reviews and thought that I had actually clicked on the wrong company name. I live in Canada and parts up here are ridiculously expensive. I discovered rockauto a few years ago and I swear by it. I live in a different country and get my parts within 3-5 days and the pricing is amazing, even after paying customs. In Canada, I would pay $471 CAD dollars including taxes for 4 rotors and 4 sets of brake pads for a 2014 Honda Odyssey. It cost me $223 + tax and shipping so about $300 from rockauto. I will agree with a few things from peoples' complaints: the customer service is not amazing. I've neer found a phone number to call although they did reply to my email within a few days and yes, you must know your stuff before ordering. In 6 orders, only once did the part not fit even though the system said it would (apparently that part was aluminimum on canadian cars but steel on the ones made in the U. S). The return process is VERY easy... you follow the steps and they generate all the paperwork for you. I got my money back minus about $30 for the shipping within 3 days. I was actually impressed with how easy it was to return. So, if you know what you're ordering, it's a great site to save money, I'm sticking with them.
I Ordered a AC COMPRESSOR, THE PRICE WAS AS MUCH AS ANY RETAIL AUTO PARTS DEALER, AND THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE, WHEN I TRIED TO RETURN IT, THEY MAKE ALL SORTS OF DEMANDS WHICH ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO SATISFY THEN THEY REFUSE TO REFUND..
Do not deal with this company. I should of stayed away when I saw you can only contact them by mail. Took 3 weeks to get a part they had in stock. Couldn't wait had to buy it locally to get my vehicle back on the road. Then they would not let me return it. Stay away. Customer service sucks.
I ordered a headliner for 81 z28. Waited almost a month. On day it was due to be delivered got a call saying item is out of stock. Reordered a different style waited agsin almost a month when finally showed it was wrong color and not close to color i ordered. At this point just going to take the hit. And est the loss Will now reorder from someone thats knows what there doing
I dont understand why there are so many bad reviews. I have been shopping with RockAuto for about 5 years and I havent received a bad part or a wrong part delivered. Maybe it has to do with the age and model of my car or maybe its something else. I drive a 2001 acura integra.
The lastest part I ordered was gabriel readymount shocks and I received them in great shape and on time (5/21/2020). I have yet to install them so I cannot comment on how long they will last.
Bought parts for my jeep and was planning to return the old parts. I was very happy with my purchase til I was about to return the old parts and learned that I cannot return it because I have to have the boxes they used to send the new parts. I just wished that they would have had stated that in the beginning. Just a heads up for everyone who's planning to do this. Very disappointed still.
For a supposed "mom & pops store", this company is a rip off. Ordered a part, didn't fit, returned it, which that shipping came out of the "return". Then they stated that it wasn't returned in the unmarked manufacturers packaging, which we shipped it back in the EXACT same packing we received it in. Then they claim the unmarked packaging has the barcode and part number on it (not sure how a once unmarked can now have marks) so it makes it to where they can't resell it. Sent me a picture of how they received it and I can see the barcode on the part. Which I told them this, with no response. Told me I'd have to pay $12 more to have it shipped back or they'd throw the part away. Sent 3 emails asking for how to speak to management and only ever received one email back. TERRIBLE customer service, TERRIBLE company. STAY AWAY! Much better, more respectful companies to get parts from.
I bought 2 rotors, top quality Raybestos, and I installed them along with top Raybestos pads on my Edge Sport 2016, mostly because I wanted to replace the bad looking rusty ones I has, ecen though they were working fine. They were probably dropped in transport, because they were warped, and vibrating a little bit on the brake pedal. ( the old ones qere fine. I contacted Rock auto, and they said that I had to locally machine the rotors and fix my caliper problem. They refuse to look at the possibiity that i might be right, and prefer to ignore my e-mails. I was always polite, but I'm done doing business with poeple like that.
Pirice is good, but if you need help, don't expect any service from them.
Ordered my parts on Monday morning received them 48 hours later my order travelled over 5300 miles would definitely recommend them.
I use to order from here all the time before they absolutely ripped me off on my store credit. Gave me a code that never worked. Nearly impossible to talk to anyone for help. Don't recommend. Try Parts King!
If you are lucky, Rock will send the part that fits & you will save a couple bucks. Then they won't & it's impossible to get satisfaction. I sent 2 identical wrong parts back, labeled with order # and with letter of explanation. Only ever got credit for one. Those "couple buck" savings disappeared when they stole $60. From me.
I paid $30.00 EXTRA for what showed to be 2 day delivery they send a tracking number saying 5 days out. Sent a email because they have NO customer service by phone because they are a company that doesn't want to help you in any way with that said still no reply to the email either. Tomorrow contact paypal and stop payment will NEVER order from again.
I have been ordering parts from rockauto for years. I was sent a wrong part, in the correct box. I filed a report, and that same day they picked, packed and shipped out a replacement. Talk about awesome customer service!
I've been waiting for 12 days for a refund. My package has been sitting at fedex for 7 days. These ppl are full of $#*! and I see why they don't have any customer service because they are a company that will rip you off when you ask for a refund! Never again will I ever use them again CHEAP STUFF AINT ALWAYS THE BEST
Purchased a radiator. Came with no protection what so ever. The inlets all had damage and the box had 3 holes in it but that's not the worst of the issues. Installed radiator and radiator fluid was pouring out of the tank seal. Now I have to pay to ship it back and cant get ahold of anyone to resolve the issue. Buy local and save yourself a bunch of headaches.
I order a part from rock auto I install the part, two weeks later it broke. I called rock auto we done the return paper work. I had to order another one then I have to send the broken back. So they send me a email for a return shipping label, I don't have a printer I always send my stuff to staples then I can go ther and print it off. BUT WAIT I CAN'T SEND IT I CAN SEND EVERYTHING ELSE BUT NOT ROCK AUTO WHY WHO NO'S. SO I HAVE TO BUY A PRINTER TO PRINT MY SHIPPING LABELS. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY AGAIN FROM THIS DUMP!
Very unhelpful for returns. I think the site is rigged to give you the highest amount for shipping! Charged me $153.00 for shipping and wouldn't fix it! Sneaky bastards!
It seems every time I order from them they will create a shipping label the same day, however they don't actually ship the item out to the carrier for several days. On one order the shipping label was generated however the tracking said that FedEx didn't receive the item until 4 days later. It seems as if they updated the tracking the same day to make you feel like they are on top of it, but just take their sweet time in actually shipping the item out from their warehouse.
I ordered a catalytic converter and support brackets were not in correct place. So i ordered another before shipping the first. The second one also had a issue with the O2 sensor hole was in incorrect places. I finally received refund on the first one, but have not received any thing on the second one, It has been 2-3 months and still nothing. There is no way to contact via phone, and no options on the refund section,
