I ordered a front brake rotor clearly identified in the online description. The picture is what I received and it clearly shows the adjustment ports for a rear rotor. They shipped a rear rotor. I followed the return instructions and stated that it was the wrong part. They sent me a return label and I sent the part back. They sent me the same wrong part again! I then request a refund and they said I would have to pay for the return! That's outrageous! I won't order from them again!
I ordered "GM original equipment" parts (AC Delco Radiator and a/c condenser) and recieved 2 open boxes which did NOT contain original equipment. The parts were of mediocre aftermarket quality and were both damaged. There is no customer service number because there is no customer service. I tried their link for returns which ended up getting me nowhere.
Ordered a steering gear for F150 that had a $150 core charge. I thought that would be fine, Ill definitely send it in and get my money back. The part shows up and it looks like the box had fallen off the truck, skidded on the highway, been wrapped back up with packaging tape to deliver. Looked the part over, and besides a little scuffing of the paint it looked fine, so I installed it. When it comes time to send in my core I email them to get the process started. Guess what? They wont give me my $150 core charge because the useless box that was totally destroyed by the shipping company that I threw in the trash is required. I could understand if they were going to repackage a new part in it and resell it. This box was going straight in the trash when it hits the remanufacturing company. Customer service refuses to work with me over a garbage cardboard box.
That's a great way to treat your customers. I am restoring 2 old trucks, and was going to buy the bulk of the thousands of dollars worth of parts from them. Not anymore. Ill use their site as a part number reference, and order from Amazon.

I accidentally got charged twice. I called them and left a message and they got back to my less than 5 minutes. Had my whole situation pulled up. Explained everything to me. Was extremely nice. I seriously will not anywhere where for my car parts. So glad I was told about them.
Ordered 2 items 2 day FedEx cost 36.00 they shipped 1 FedEx and shipped 5he other one global mail from somewhere else with a few of 2 weeeks I contacted them ask why they blew me of stay away rockautto. Dorybags
Was surprised to read some of the reviews. I have been buying from rock auto for some time now. I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with this company. Their shipping has always been on time (most generally early). The parts are always exactly what I order. I will buy from rock auto over most any other parts store. Prices are usually a bit cheaper than others, and I usually have my parts in just a few days. Great place for my needs.
I ordered a Fuel Filter, received a used part, came smelling of chemicals and residue on the filter. Emailed customer service they send me in a loop of referring me back to help pages.
They need to be more specific on engine oil pump & listing it next to the engine oil category. They sent me a transmission oil pump. Fluid is what I have always known of it to be called & that pump be called transmission pump, not just oil pump. I also tried ordering pistons & rings, but want let me. Oh well there are other companies to order the right parts from.
I ordered 4 brand name shocks. Two were right, two were an off brand. Because they had the same number on the shock, Rockauto said too bad for me through their auto response system. (You cannot speak to anybody.) I am a long time customer and have had other issues in the past but I have made my very last Rockauto purchase ever. Try this... go to their site and play around with an order in an attempt to get your parts to get shipped from the same warehouse.
This was my first (and last) experience with RockAuto. The amount of automated steps required to return unopened and duplicated parts was unduly burdensome. I simply didn't send the parts back it was such an arduous process. There was also a part missing. That was about a $50.00 lesson. PLEASE use a locally based part store. Then if you have an issue, there is an actual HUMAN to speak with about your order. RockAuto is a prime example of the worst kind of fully automated poor service business model with absolutely no accountability assigned to anyone. AVOID them.
I don't know how they are still doing business, hands down this is the worse company I No real person to talk to after they get your money! Then you get the run around when THEY give you the wrong parts. NEVER AGAIN...
I would honestly give them zero stars if I could. I purchased a heater hose for my car and (was definitely my fault, I admit) I forgot to put the APARTMENT number on the address label. I called to have it returned and they said they would give me a refund. I spent over $80 on this hose for the part AND for shipping. They would only refund me $12. TWELVE DOLLARS! This is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! I will NOT be back.

I've been buying parts for my '89 Cadillac Deville from RockAuto for 3 years now. I've replaced all the brake and suspension components, left rear window motor, harmonic balancer and related parts, and some exhaust parts. They've always shipped the parts immediately and I've received them within 4 days. They've shipped the wrong parts twice, and have either re-shipped the correct part (immediately before receiving the return part), or issued a complete refund if the correct part was unavailable. If there's any difficulty with the automated return process, just shoot them an email explaining the problem, and they'll look after you within a day or two.
I have a third packing list with duplicate parts on it and a duplicate charge on my credit card but the order number does not come on my account so now I cannot get help with the charge on my credit card this company has poor customer service!
I bought two replacement A/C Lines. After receiving them I realized the job was to big so I asked to return them. They sent two return labels. I had both items packed in one box. Both over 4ft long and fragile. I received a shipping receipt and then an email from Rock Auto stating they received the parts. They gave me a refund on the cheapest of the two items less the shipping label cost. I asked why I wasn't refunded the second item in an email they said I had to enter the tracking number on a special page first. I informed them that they identified the returns by the tracking number in the email they sent stating they had received the returned items. Why do I need to provide a number they already have and used? After several back and forth emails unable to resolve anything I gave up and entered the tracking number onto their form just to be told it was to late for a refund. It wasn't to late three weeks ago when you acknowledged their receipt. Here I am today still waiting on a refund. Rock auto will never get my business again.
I bought a turbo charger that did not match the exhaust bolts and they refused to refund my money. The exhaust bolts would not fit in the holes of the turbo
I ordered a drive shaft that FedEx cannot locate. It is impossible to to get service of even the simplest form. They have had my $393. Since June 19th and I keep getting the run around. Don't use these people they are the scum of this industry.
Just got told by RockAuto that they will not pay for return shipping on the bad parts they've sent. Lately, nearly all of the remanufactured parts I've purchased and installed from RockAuto have been failing during warranty. In this lastest example, a CV axle right out of the box. I was told: "You are welcome to continue to order from us, but we will no longer cover return shipping on this order, or future orders, as the cost of doing so is not sustainable for us as a business due to the inordinate number of returns that are submitted". In other words, dealing with poor quality vendors is getting too expensive for them, so they're making the customer pay for it. They once sent me the completely wrong order, someone else's order, and I had to argue with them for days to get them to pay for return shipping. They're not always the cheapest, but their site offers one-stop shopping convenience, apparently at the expense of customer service.
I made a purchase of some calipers and then had to have two back surgeries then the Covid 19 shutdown happened, because of that I didn't get the cores returned by the deadline. Rockauto has a 6 month core return policy, if you go over that they keep your deposit money. I went over the return deadline which is true. BUT I asked if there could be an exception due to my 2 surgeries and a little thing called a Pandemic shutdown going on. Was there anyway my core deposit money could be returned, I had the cores ready to ship back. They were very rude and not helpful. Most of the world is trying to help each other during this time, but not rockauto they are greedy. The thing is, it wouldn't cost them anything to return my deposit money. All I was asking was to return my money. But because they are greedy they are keeping my money. I wasn't asking for them to change their policy. I was just asking to make an exception every 100 years or so when a Pandemic hits. Don't buy anything from these money hungry losers.
