I have ordered many parts from rockauto in the past, this last time the shipping has been even worse than normal, which isn't good. They shipped about 10 items through Fed Ex and the rest through the post office. I have received all the parts from the post office within 3 days, the parts shipped through Fed Ex have trickled in, I have been waiting 11 days for several parts that were in stock, and shipped the same time as all the rest. Fed Ex is the worst shipping company on the planet, only thing I can figure is they ship real cheap for rockauto. That is really my only complaint, but to be honest the money you save buying through them sometimes isn't really worth it by the time you add the cost of shipping, plus the aggravation of the long wait for your parts. I can only recommend that rockauto find another shipping company that has their own employees instead of a bunch of sub contractors that work when they want.
Paying extra for expedited shippingDoes you no good when they don't deliver when promised when you're paying on the website. After I gave them my money I then got an email saying it would come three days later screwing me and my friends on the weekend I had scheduled to get help fixing my car. I'll never use them again The 20 bucks I saved by buying from them was not worth it And their customer service options are the worst I have ever seen.

Getting parts together to put my daughters vehicle back together. Ordered a alternator from Rock Auto. Once all parts arrived we started putting the parts on and that's when we discovered that we had been sent the wrong alternator. Because we were over 30 days out (about 10 days over) Rock Auto would not accept the return and send the right alternator or refund. Won't deal with them again and won't recommend either. Order number ******* if they want to make good. They have my email. If make good I will retrack. I'm not faultless but they won't even work with you, poor customer service.
Yal suck how do I order a wheel bearing and hub and the bearing is to big do you check anything before you ship it out? Place is a joke I paid a lot of money for express shipping to get the wrong part.

Their website is horrible and probably is what is costing them so many returns as indicated by the various other reviews on the site. Its impossible to speak with someone and when you finally get them on a email chain they close the requests.
I've spent thousands of dollars with rockauto.The part looked the exact way is was sent I literally seat on my countertop for the time I had it. The part was not put on or even matched up to the vehicle I was not needed I'm a VERY LOYAL CUSTOMER and you will not take back a part I returned late(DO TO THE CORONAVIRUS). The part is in the same condition which I received it. When I spoke to a very polite and helpful lady, I specifically told her why is was the way it was. And the exact location it's goes.
This part attaches to the crossmember or my 2006 Chevy Silverado in buffalo New York completely rusted away that part has to be welded on it does not sit in place. That part was literally delivered to my countertop along with a lotta my other purchases from rock auto. YOU WILL LOOSE A LOYAL CUSTOMER OVER A $46 PART I ACTUALLY RETURNED BACK TO ROCKAUTO IN THE SAME EXACT SHAPE WHICH I RECEIVED IT.
Sorry for any inconvenience this brings just think about me I'm not rich I buy broken cars trucks and fix them up. There are a few other cheap auto part dealers
Sent me parts that somebody else returned upper and lower control arms were different one ball joint was missing rivet no grease fittings for the hole frontend kit and didn't get both idler arm brackets was missing one
Screwed me out of a refund on an incomplete order they shipped. Parts missing then they locked me out of the return process. Never... and I mean NEVER order from these bozos again or you'll regret it.

No customer service whatsoever. Everything is fine and dandy until there is a problem and you try to call them about an issue, mean while your partial order is being shipped out and you no Longer need due to the unavailability of the other part that they no longer have in stock.
I took my car to a local auto shop where it was diagnosed as needing a new vacuum pump, and they placed the order number DORMAN ******* as the part number.
I went to the Rock Auto website, used the filtering process for the pump, and it matched up. I ordered said pump. It was delivered, my personal mechanic was installing it and found it was the incorrect pump. It is actually missing a nipple that connects to a hose.
I reached out to customer service to ask what I should do upon finding out this error - I was told that because it had been thirty NINE days, the return policy is thirty, I was going to be issued a store credit not a refund. Using the provided system with Rock Auto, I was guided incorrectly. This episode was a result of the website, the COMPANY website mis-advising - not to mention, extremely POOR customer service. I have been in contact back and forth, and "We're sorry - we'll make a one time exception and give you store credit." How the company has an A+ on the BBB and a 1.5 star rating baffles me. Not to mention the poor reviews on various other websites for the POOR customer service.
I paid the $20.80 to return the part and have been waiting for correspondence for multiple days. It's really baffling that, as a consumer, I'm expected to be understanding of delays, etc - and again - I went off of what the website guided me to - during the COVID Crisis delaying the world, but the same isn't afforded in the opposite direction.
2008 was/is a confusing year for Mini Coopers, so I have some grace here - if you enter in 2009 Mini Cooper, the part I need comes up. 2008 was a transition year for Mini, the body style stayed the same as the year before, however the engine was modified and this causes some confusion in the parts realm.
I ordered a front CV axle for my Ford F150. I installed the axle and from the second I drove it, it had a terrible vibration and noise when turning. The next day I pulled it out and put in a Precision brand from the local parts store. Problem solved. I requested to return the defective axle for a refund. Never received any return info. When I went back a few weeks later to again request to return it, they refused saying I was past my 30 day window. First time I ever bought anything from this crappy company and it will be the last. I am a retired mechanic and buy lots of parts still. Not from this place, I will stick to supporting my local family owned parts store.
My stating of poor customer service is that there is none. I made an order and after submitting I noticed it said right side and not left side. I tried to use the instructions on the site to make a change of the part being that it was just ordered. They have absolutely no one to speak with. I sent several emails only to get one reply to refer to the website instructions with gives no options to change order. Will never deal with again due to lack of customer service and very limited help options. Can not even enter your issue have.
Ordered a break booster and paid extra for speedy delivery. Its not coming on delivery date promised and no date for delivery is out there yet. Contacted Rock Auto and was told its not there problem. If I paid extra money for a delivery date who's problem is it then. This will be the last thing I ever purchase from Rock Auto.
I've ordered from Rockauto many times and they always perform exactly as you'd expect. Delivery consistently on time and always keep me informed on order status. I've never tried to return anything, so I can't say how the perform in that respect.
I tried cancelling an order because their damn site switched some parts on me during checkout. I cancelled the order within 5 mins at 8pm on a saturday. Whatever, I'll fix it by contacting support. NOPE. Half of order stuck as processing at this point. Half cancelled.NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NONE. I was baffled to find not a single email address or anything on the website when trying to contact someone. Just F.A.Qs.
Well now they have adjusted my order to remove the cancelled items and ship the remaining. Great, right? I wish. Invoice now shows random price amount that's WAY over the amount needed to buy this part. They just took my money and didn't say anything.
These parts are now more expensive than the best quality part I can get at the store down the street today but instead I'm pissed and it cost me more for lower quality. Shame.
Rock auto would be my everyday stop for parts if they didn't suck so bad with service. I hope someone buys them out so they can become a real competitor because right now this is a joke.
If you're going to buy anyway because of alluring prices, use a credit card. They will back you up more than RockAuto ever will when there is an issue with your order.
I ordered the part is they said it was for my vehicle as you see on their invoice even in on their website they made a mistake and they want to charge me almost the entire price of the part to send it back there's no customer service to speak up it's all through online I'd rather pay a little more go to eBay Amazon or Walmart and get the correct Parts and if there is a problem don't have to go through this
I ordered a part on Wednesday for my car paid for two business day shipping because I needed it by Friday afternoon so I can work on it this weekend and would be able to have a vehicle for this next week of work. It is now Monday afternoon and according to the tracking will not be here till tomorrow night. I have had to pay for an additional two days of rental car serviceI have had to pay for an additional 2 days of rental car service which is the total of almost $100 for this 6 day almost a full week. This is not how you do business! So to whom it may concern don't shop here go to a local auto shop you will get it faster cheaper and save some sanity!
Total Rip off site, they do NOT stand behind major wrong parts. The radiator I purchased from them has the intake port on the drivers side and it should be on the passenger side. I told them i had already installed it and had to drill new holes to make it fit and now have a ton of time invested in it before i realized THEY messed up BADLY. They send me a reply """

If you order from Rock Auto, you may get the right part. Too often you will receive a box with paperwork that lists what you ordered, but the parts in the box will be something different. Then have fun with their fundamentally useless customer service people getting any resolution. THEN get ready to pay for the return shipping! Really!
