Honda Starter

I say stay away unless you don't want a core return fee. Much cheaper and easier to purchase locally. Also, I found a new Honda Starter at a discount dealer store for almost the same price. Core returns are a pain in the butt with RockAuto.

I have never had a worse experience returning a part than with this company. We are talking a $17 manual that RockAuto refused my return because the plastic envelope was removed! Really? How was I to inspect the book's contents without removing the plane cellophane wrapper? After paying for the return, it's now not worth the return back. In addition, their customer service is also deceitful because they claim they called me, but my phone number was not correct. Really? I know my number, and when I sent an email, no call was made but only a statement that their policy refuses returns without the plastic. Then why were pages creased and folded (damaged) if it was "factory" sealed?

I am grateful that all I lost was the cost of product and return shipment, and will never ever use them for parts again. Too many other reputable online part providers to choose from that have the same parts at competitive pricing that do not pose this type of risk to the honest part Buyer. BEWARE!

Trash shipping

I paid 70 dollars for 2 day shipping and 1 of my parts showed up, dont expect urgent shipping with these guys. They make excuses everytime you "talk" to them... email. Not convenient at all for mechanics who need parts immediately. They give you excuses and more excuses for the reasons why they suck. They don't give you compensation for the mishap and they basically tell you to screw off. They closed my ticket on the email without telling me anything. If i could give a zero star review I would.

Lesson Learned
September 7, 2020

Had my nephew order transmission lines for my Cadillac. Delivered on time. But, with only one line in the box. Invoiced for both. Rock auto sent the other line. Both lines are wrong. So thought about the return. Labels, boxes, invoices. Pay return shipping. Not worth the trouble, waited two weeks to get the lines. Then have to go to NAPA to have them order the right parts. Just save your money and head ache. Buy local. Lesson Learned.

Never again. In Oklahoma

Returns very disappointed

RockAuto doesn't bother telling you ahead of time to make sure to keep your manufacturer's package in case you have to return the part because it no longer works. They themselves only have a 30 day warranty and the fuel pump that I bought was 52 days ago. Now I can't send it back for the warranty replacement because I don't have the correct Packaging. That's bul$#*! why do they need the packaging when the part doesn't work. Never had a problem with them before very disappointed

Ive used Rockauto 3 times for parts for my trailblazer in the last 2 years. I order the struts for my lift gate 2 years ago and it arrived on time and has been working great since. Last week I ordered the the headlight assembly. It arrived and is the exact fit OEM specs. Best price I found and it came as duty paid too! Bonus! I will use them again. Not sure why they have terrible reviews, but my dealings with them have been great.

Faulty fuel injectors

I bought fuel injectors for my truck paid to have them installed had a hard starting issue after they were installed paid again to troubleshoot the problem to find out 6 out of 8 injectors were leaking the dealer replaced them with original parts i had them replace all 8 problem solved rick auto won't give me my money back says I need to buy more faulty injectors stay away from this place at all costs

I am trying to contact them and it is like talking to a wall. They ignored half my questions and after sending screen caps to them and asking they told me to contact paypal. Though money was taken from my bank as well? Which I also sent screen caps of the money being taken out of my bank along with dates.
I tried calling and the number wasn't even in service.
Would give 0 stars if I could.

No Customer Service

I tried to amend an order immediately after placing it. The website appeared to allow that, but instead it placed both orders and did not cancel the first. Rock Auto has NO customer service. There is no customer service line, no customer chat capability, apparently no way to cancel an order. Their prices are cheap, but it may cost more due to a lack of customer service.

Ordered a gas tank for my Mazda Tribute. Recommended by a co-worker and the mechanic who swapped the tank out. Worried for the three days if it would be the right one; would it be delivered in the time frame promised; would it clear the border without issues? There was no need to concern myself as everything went perfect. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to in this case as its not often you can make cross border purchase without hiccups. Thanks to RockAuto; FedEx; and the two people who recommended this cost saving venture!

This company is an absolute gamble. Sometimes you get lucky and no issues but many times you get the wrong part or delivery time is completely unreasonable as if it was shipped from abroad. Don't bother asking for help. Customer service does not exist. In the end you can lose your money and precious time or both. I used to order all my auto parts from them for nearly 18 years. No more. I'm done. My car has been on jack stands for 2 weeks waiting on parts coming from their warehouse in Eagan, MN. The worst part is they don't give you an approximate delivery date prior to ordering, only after you place the order do you find the delivery to be ridiculously long. No more Rockauto ever again. I hope they go out of business for all the aggravation they caused me with lost money and time.

Shop ELSEWHERE

I wanted a moog wheel hub assembly for my "05" Chrysler Town & Country, rock auto sent me a SKF, i looked up SKF hub assemblies and they are equivalent to OEM. The van has a bad vibration, a mechanic said its a rear wheel hub, the new SKF hub, which has maybe 1000 miles on it. As it turns out the SKF unit is a knockoff, and after more $ spent, me arguing with a young mechanic, i told him get a new line of work, its all, 100% the fault of ROCK AUTO. Im replacing every part ive purchased thru this CROOKED-AS-HELL auto parts.

I ordered A hose and the $#*! they send is 4 inches too short. Then gonna $#*!ing CHARGE ME MORE to return their worthless BULL$#*!... AND no customer service contact. Yeah because they are $#*!ing people out of their money... $#*! ripoff auto. Don't buy their $#*!.

They are RUDE! Dishonest! Con Artists!
Why?
To Rock Auto... Dear Rock Auto Rep... You have a good business concept. Why would you run your name through the mud by giving such POOR Customer service! Don't you realize we are the ones that make you money. A returning customer is Always a good investment. Why would you loose so many returning customers just to Con everyone 1 time? Why? It makes No Sense at all. Why not just RUN YOUR BUSINESS HONESTLY! If you do that from the get go you would have TONS of returning customers and your business value would go up. Now you need to start to work on getting this right. Start by being HONEST with your customers and clean house... You desperately NEED New, Caring Customer Representatives. The ones you have right now are running your business into the ground. You can still fix this but START NOW before you loose more Valuable Customers.

I purchased an ac compressor that was bad from the very beginning. I have to pay shipping to send back and they will not issue a refund and will only replace the the exact part. Do not do business with these scammers. Now I am trying to see what I can do with the manufacturer. Oh yeah, and they do not have live people customer svc it is strictly online mumbo jumble.

REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE

REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE! With these people. I placed an order for some brakes on my car and everything fit besides the brake rotors. I sent the rotors back for an exchange and they sent me the same rotors again. I then sent them an email explaining that I did not want those rotors and that I'd like my money back. It was a real hassle trying to get them to give me my money back because I wasn't happy with their service. They told me they would give me store credit but I declined. So because I declined that they just completely ignored my messages and canceled my return ticket. Now I'm stuck with these rotors that I've got no use for, they kept my money, and there's no way to contact a supervisor or anyone because they don't have a customer service line. Everything is through email and if they want (just like they did to me) they can just ignore you and leave you hanging.
DO NOT BUY FROM ROCK AUTO!

PACKAGE NEVER CAME

Monday August 24th at 10:15 i ordered ignition coils for my 2005 chrysler 300. Was supposed to receive my order NEXT DAY Tuesday August 25th from around 6-8pm PACKAGE NEVER CAME i PAYED the extra $16.99 For next Business day shipping Now the Tracker is Telling me TOMORROW needed the parts today!
