DONT SHOP HERE!

If you want to deal with a company that doesn't stand behind their products/ services and has horrible customer service, then this is the company for you.

Ordered a couple parts, they were delivered by FedEx and ruined. Box was ruined, parts were ruined etc.

Contacted customer service because according to their policy, the core return would have needed to be done had to be done in original packaging, but that was too damaged to use for a return.

I asked for a refund for the repair kit for the item, and the core's I was unable to return due to the shipping being horrendous (not their fault, but it wasn't mine either).

They stated that they could refund me $20 of the $100 I should have been refunded for. The kit I needed to repair it cost $34.99 (they insisted it was only $20 and it wasn't) and the core's were $31.50 a piece.

I did let them know if they would accept the core return in a different box I would be happy to do so. Which was never replied to

The customer service rep ASHLEY was a word I'm sure I'm not allowed to say on here. I've never filed a complaint before in my life against a company, but I am today due to her HORRIBLE lack of customer service. My last email to her was sending a picture of THEIR POLICY for the core return, and to speak to someone else or if she wouldn't do that, that I would be filing a complaint with my bank, BBB and their corporate office. She blocked me from being able to reply from that email on.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!

1. Part didn't fit. I described the issue,.
2. I asked for return authorization. It required that I pay some shipping costs. I refused.
3. RockAuto insisted that I take photos showing them the problem. I refused to do their research for them after my description of the problem to them.
4. Some time lapsed, and I sent part back at my cost to get it out of my shop.
5. They refunded my original cost but not all of my return shipping costs.
6. You've been warned. Never will I ever do business with RockAuto again.

I had bought stuff from rock auto when it was delivered it was left in the rain and the part where wrong I tried to return but because I don't have the original box it came in I no longer can return it won't ever buy from them again

Generally if you buy a part from RockAuto you will not be able to return it. RockAuto does not have means of contact and no customer service. If you get the wrong part, you are stuck with it. I am really surprised that RockAuto has done nothing to correct this situation.

Partial refund

I purchased 2-BMW rear rotors left & right, had to pay to return the unopened package. Only received partial refund for 1-rotor. No number on rock auto site to contact, also no location on their site to inquire about my remainder refund. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER ORDER FROM THIS SITE AGAIN! Also will report this to the BBB!

Used their model/search function, bought an aftermarket radiator fan assembly.

Multiple issues:
Came with one of two resistors and relays. Had to purchase the others separately, which almost doubled the cost and delayed install for a day.

One of the plug outlets molded into the housing was the wrong shape, so I have to buy more parts to splice it together or get it refunded and start over!

Zero Customer Service. Parts Not As Described

This company has NO customer service phone number. It's all done online. "Auto parts" are either NEEDED for a repair, or VERY IMPORTANT to someone doing a restoration. Both require good customer service. Rock Auto does not provide this.

Parts shown and described on the site Do Not always match what you will receive. If you're like most people who search the web looking for the best deal on the same-exact part, don't trust Rock Auto to provide that same-exact part. For example, part may look like the same Made In USA parts as other sites, but when the part arrives it will be an Asian copy. Such as the case with my order. And the only choice for a return or exchange is online. Be prepared for your project to get delayed. You will also need to be prepared to be out of money for the correct parts, while you await Rock Auto's refund.

Horrible business.

My RockAuto experience

I'm a 79 year old female. I've been using RockAuto now for approximately 8 years. It was recommended by a friend who is a mechanic. Most my orders have been perfect. I've had to exchange some parts, mainly due to my mistake and never had a problem getting that done. If you want to save money I highly recommend RockAuto. If you don't want to think and do for yourself go to someone else.

The total price of parts list I created kept increasing from day to day.
I thought if I ordered before the end of the day the total price would stay the same. When I was ready to check out and got to the shipping cost, I was more than sure this company is run by criminals. My cost to have 17 items shipped to me was $860.
Rock auto website stated it was shipping from 6 different locations. So even if chose the cheapest ground rout it would cost 6x the advertised cost.
Thanks to the reviews I read i chose to purchase my parts from another supplier. I would have left a zero rating if I could.

Great auto parts supplier when selective

If you read the reviews, you should know that this company has no customer service. They also have no warehouses or inventory. All the parts are packed and shipped from large wholesalers or manufacturers. You may notice the most positive reviews are from Auto repair places that order parts on a regular basis. You need access to a computer and printer in case you need to print shipping labels for returns and follow strict return directions. After researching the company, I felt as long as you are ordering name brand parts or more higher end products, chances of getting faulty or incorrect parts are less likely. Also you should do diligence in looking up the correct part numbers so the mistake doesn't start with you. In my case I needed an air strut for an old MBZ. Other competitors wanted an avg price of $550 but rockauto was selling it for $400. I was ordering a new part of the most popular brand for that part and saving $150 seemed worth it. I ordered the part online and received it 2 days later without any problems. If you are ordering lots of cheaper parts, the savings may or may not be worth the potential customer service issues but my experience was 5 star.

Shipping Scam

SCAM!
You ever notice that whenever you put more than 1 part in your cart, they always come from different warehouses so rock auto can charge you more shipping. (One part will come from warehouse A and the other from B).
If you try to change a part to come from the same warehouse to lower the shipping charge, The warehouse of the part still in the cart will change. So any time you order multiple parts you will always pay a multiple warehouse shipping charge. I will not buy from rock auto again.

Worst customer service

Please dont buy from this website. Their customer service is terrible. First you can only contact them by email and it is a challenge to find their email in their website. Second they will reply to you after you almost forgot what was the reason you contact them for. Even if it is their mistake and they owe you a few dollars, they will find a justification for not to pay you anything, and then close your case so you cant email them back

Wrong part don't fit

I order a power stop brake package and one of the caliper was incorrect part, it's a company mistake and now I need to pay for the return and place a new order because don't exchange the wrong part that rock auto send wrong for mistake.

They seem cheap at first then when you checkout they change the warehouse location so you have to pay more in shipping this is why I stopped using them. Come on Rockauto stope the bait and switch trick be great again!

Bad service

This is a bad place to get parts they give you a estimate when the part will be their which is about 3 to 4 days and the part will not arrive untill at least 2 1/2 weeks later I ended up buying the part from Amazon.Don't order from here the return policy is even harder to workout ended up just letting them keep the money
