If you buy a part from RockAuto be aware that it may be faulty. Twice I bought products and it did not work. Costing me additional money. It's a pain that you can't talk to someone about your concerns. They will take your money and not refund anything back, if the part is faulty.

Ordered this gasket from them and it said 7 days to get to me. I thought that was a long time. This place is rediculous on getting your parts to you. Better off going to you local auto parts store and pay more. Never order anything from them again. My review is the place is a scam site! Poor shipping! Also I still haven't even got my single gasket.
After having made you wait 2 weeks for a part (without which I can't circulate because it's from the suspension), they canceled the purchase because they can't get the part. Why are they selling something they don't have in stock?
Living in Canada, and for the difference in the currency exchange, the bank charged me CAD211, and at the time of the cancellation they returned CAD196, which means that in addition to the lousy customer service, and canceling the purchase themselves, I lost CAD15 because they decided to cancel the purchase.

They incorrectly list parts that won't fit your selected vehicle, then make you pay for return shipping, even when they were at fault.
They will not talk with you by phone to resolve problems, only e mail, which can be extremely frustrating when you are trying to explain what they did wrong.
Rock Auto has absolutely horrible customer service. I ordered a lower control arm bushing that Rock Auto claimed would fit my vehicle. When I went to press my bushings in I discovered that the advertised bushing was the wrong size, despite their website claiming this was an exact OEM replacement. I contacted Customer Service and was told that I could get a new part (which still would not be the correct size), but no vehicle. When I asked further how to get the correct bushing my order correspondence was closed. Please don't make my same mistake, avoid this company at all costs.
DO NOT USE_ They don't know what they are doing ANd you can't reach them. I regret ever having heard of them and have wasted days waiting for parts only to have them be for an entirely different engine. I honestly don't know how they are still in business.
Approximately 2 years ago, I had to purchase some very unique brake system for a 1989 Chevy IROC Z Camaro. I ordered 4 rotors and all of the things needed to replace everything on each axle for safety. After I ordered what was the correct part ( nobody knows my car better than I) RipAuto sent the wrong parts for the back axle, 2 rotors, Calipers were wrong, parts were wrong on the back axle period. After notifying that it didn't t fit. They (RipAuto) insisted it did fit. After I requested a return even though I purchased a lot of parts ( owner of 6 vehicles) I went to credit card and tried to force them to return the items. Would not do it. Somehow convinced the Credit Card Company that it fit and would not allow a return, even though I was the customer and I said it didn't t fit. I wasted a lot of time in a dispute over items I paid for that didn't t fit and I still have a New set of rotors and a number of other items still on my shelf that costed me hundreds of dollars in parts, time etc. and to this day I refuse to do business with these idiots because they know more about my car that I have owned for 25 years and refused to take back parts that would not fit. DOES THIS REALLY SOUND LIKE SOMETHING I WOULD MAKE UP? It's not just the money, it's the principal of the matter. Right? I guess not. They still send me SALES from time to time but I refuse to buy ANYTHING from RIPAUTO.!
Order was $30 something inc.shopping and my card charged $99., I see no way to fix it and I guess they have lost a long time customer.

Ordered a few parts to see if it is worth it for our company I made a mistake and marked overnight shipping saw my mistake tried to fix it only way to get in touch was email once I found it explained the issue in the email they said to late it around 20 minutes so I will not be doing business with them you need better customer service
Have yet to receive any of my parts ordered over a week ago and yet they use the worst shipping company in the world to deliver there products absolute waste of time and money order from advanced auto or any other reputable dealer for parts because this place is a absolute joke
Bought a reman. Rack and pinnion and the rack and pinnion is trash. All parts are worn out inside and it's leaking already. Trash parts.
Customer service doesn't have functionality to remedy certain issues. Didn't receive all of my order.
Bought an intermediate shaft which I thought was the right part because I verified it with vin number when really it was not the right part. The part had a defect and the shaft for the u joint was longer than the old one on the truck. I tried my luck on refunding it but it told me because I ordered a part different than what I was looking for they cannot do any returns. Out money and pissed off due to negligence and their innacuracy fitment wise. Waste of time never buying from them again. No customer service is available which is just not right, big scam on their part.

Been using RockAuto for years without any issues. But I believe the original owners must have sold out to some greedy company. Because everything about RockAuto now sucks. Shipping used to be free. Now shipping on the smallest item is $12.95. Order 2 small items that could fit in one box you get charged $12.95 twice. And now they have started using DHL for deliveries. DHL is slower than the Pony Express. My last package (brake pads) took 10 days from Illinois to Texas.
The only good thing about RockAuto is their website. It's great for looking up part numbers and alternate part numbers.
Part says it will fit 2014 jetta 1.8t SEL, and absolutely doesn't, it is a part that fits GTI's or GLI's, rock auto wouldn't even go as far as paying shipping for return even though the error is black on white on their website. GARBAGE customer service, had to pay 30$ for shipping here 30$ for shipping back and then another 30$ for shipping the correct part. 90$ And plenty of time lost. Oh and they stopped answering my emails all together even though i stayed very polite and professional. Don't waste you're time and money with this company!
Bought front suspension parts from them in June 2020 (only had struts and rear shocks installed then). Installed remaining inner/outer tie rod ends in June 2022. Found out that right front bolt would not tighten and they shimmed it. (no,no). Squeak in left front end and just replaced them again and right front bolt on new outer tie rod WOULD NOT TIGHTEN AGAIN! Same part same brand (Mevotech). Had to buy part locally to finish job and get refund from Rockauto. Also, bad A/C compressor from them in 9/22...bad bearings right out of the box. Since I was not at original location, had to buy new one from them and then ship back by FEDEX old part for refund and pay installation TWICE! Allowed $7 to ship back and cost about $20. Appears parts from them are garbage a good deal of the time. Absolutely no humans to speak to so buy at your own risk...I'll go elsewhere in future.
Hi, I ordered a new steering rack from Rockauto for my Ford Exp. To oversee (Europe). At first I was concerned because of the many negative reviews. But everything worked out great and super fast. Ordered on Monday and the part was by me on Thursday.
FedEx shipping costs were great too.
Only thing I can complain about was the packaging. Rockauto should pay more attention to better packaging!
I have to do my own mechanic work to save money for my large family. Every time I use rockauto the parts come on time in safe packaging, and often times its early. Their website's set up makes it super simple to find the right parts for your vehicle and price compare. The tips section has saved me hundreds of dollars and time by helping me prepare when I need a specific tool to do a job instead of being surprised by a huge rental fee at a store. I recommend rockauto to anybody working on vehicles.
