Loved my dress

Absolutely loved my dress! I got so many compliments. I was worried when I first took it out of the package as it looked small. The material was stretchy and this dress fit me like a glove. Shipping was fast. I highly recommend checking out Retro-Stage for vintage clothing.

Ordered a retro dress and the works with gloves, headband and all and did not receive until after the event was over. When I placed the order it said that it would be express shipping for a few more dollars and I paid for express shipping and did not receive the items in time so I have tried to contact them by phone and the number does not work. If it is a number is California it should work since they are only 3 hours different from my time. Customer service is not good. I want to send the items back since I purchased them for that occasion only. Very disappointed with timing/shipping.

LOVE IT

The dress is what set off my need for a party. Had to have somewhere to wear it. The first time I put it on was fabulous. It looked and felt great. As it was long, I decided to shorten the front so the back was like a train. As was the style. I am short, almost 50 and the dress was wonderful. I sure hope I can find another time to wear it. There sizes are true. Take your measurements if you want the right size to arrive. Don't guess.

This red sparkly strapless dress is the most beautiful thing! However, I'm a 5'8, size 8, in shape dancer, and I could not get into any of them! Their return policy is extremely difficult. I finally ordered an XXL, cut a huge slit in the inner lining, sewed the edges back up, and was FINALLY able to make it work in the XXL. Again, it's GORGEOUS, so I was dying to make it work, but it's impossible to get into (pulling down or up over your butt) without adjustments.

The dress is pretty however they sent me the wrong size and it was two weeks later than I was told it would be. Supposed to be handcrafted but it's obviously just machine made and it's almost impossible to get ahold of anyone because most of it is all in China. It was packaged as well as if I had ordered it off of Wish (which is not well done at all)
I was very sad and disappointed and will sadly probably never try them again :(

Beautiful Dress

Love this dress so much! I ordered it in a large as I am a 36C and this dress does not stretch and it fit perfect. I'm 5'6 without heels and it was a little bit long even with heels and gets tangled up when walking up and down the stairs so I'll be cutting a bit of the bottom off. I bought this dress for New Years and will be ordering a different one for my 20s themed birthday in March. My mom loved my dress so much she's also ordering one!

I ordered a dress, feather flapper headband, dangle earrings, and shoes for a Great Gatsby themed NYE party. I'm 5'0", 160 lbs, and busty so I ordered a XL dress. I received all items within 12 days from the date I placed my order. The dress is even more beautiful in person and I was very impressed with the quality. It also has a little bit of stretch to it so I was able to slip it over my head without having to unzip the zipper. The feather headband, earrings, and shoes were all as pictured and also high quality. I received compliments all night. I love it and would definitely order from Retro Stage again!

Great Gatsby dress

Loved the Pink 1920s Cap Sleeve Sequin Evening Dress I purchased for a Great Gatsby party. The price is great. The shipping was fast. My product shipped from City of Industry, CA and arrived in roughly 3-4 days, including the New Year holiday. I live in CA so an easy delivery distance.

I'm 5'7" and about 165 lbs. The large fit perfectly. In fact, I wondered if I could go down a size. The dress is long and I'll be wearing a 2 3/4" heel shoe. The dress still goes to the ground. If shorter, You might need to hem. Very comfortable fit.

Very pleased!

What an excellent dress I purchased! My New Year party was in Gatsby style, and the dress was exactly as I wanted it to be! The dress was made so well, it was amazing to see everything crafted so perfectly. It fitted so well. I could dance and perform 1920-s songs in it. Thank you very much!

I purchased four dresses and a petticoat from the site during the Black Friday sale. Reading the delivery estimates, it said that times could vary due to the fact that the items are "made by special technics, do strict quality-control tests and carefully package the items". It took 3 weeks to get to me in Australia, in 3 seperate packages, and I was never updated on the status of the order, I had to send in an email to request the information.

None of the dresses were "carefully packaged" nor were in any way "specially" made. They absolutely stunk of cheap chemicals, were an incredibly weak and cheap fabric which felt horrible on my skin, and I had a zip break when I was doing up the dress for the first time (though it was an appropriate size for me). When I put the dress on I still smelt like it for hours afterwards.

Since I had a broken zip, I wanted to complete a refund so I could get my money back, but I was told I would have to pay to ship it back to the US myself (which costs more than the dress did), and therefore was not worth my time. I was instead offered $20 back and a discount for my next purchase from the store (which I will definitely never use).

Also, I can confirm other reports of it being a Chinese company, as every package came from there and the service emails were very poorly written and even linked me to a tracking site in Mandarin.

All in all, I feel robbed and deceived and have not way of getting most of my money back, and I have four dresses which I don't want, one of which is broken.

I love the 1920s red dress but i wish i had sized up. I was still able to make it work by making it a top and wearing black leggings.Other then the size issue i love the dress it came fast. No flaws that i could see. I would buy another dress from them, just have to remember to size up.

My body: 38F, size 14 and a butt (sir mix a lot would be proud) i ordered a XL i should have ordered a 2XL.

Surprisingly nice!

Ordered two dresses, one for a 20's party with stockings and headband, and a second from the 50's selection that was worn for Christmas. The dresses arrived fairly quickly (within the 15-day delivery date window) and survived the trip from China perfectly. The fabric is of better quality (thickness, feel, appearance) than the prices suggested. The construction quality is not great, but for the price it was much better than expected. The true surprise was that both fit without need of alterations right out of the box (or, plastic packing envelope to be literal). Unfortunately, the stockings and headband for the 20's dress got lost in transit. That said, customer service was prompt and satisfactorily resolved the problem. The negative reviews all seem focused on shipping issues. You just have to keep in mind that you are dealing with China, so there are shipping times and (for customer service) multiple time zones you have to take into account. My advice would be to order well in advance of the date you need the garment and, probably, to have a backup plan. But, as far as the products, this is actually a better deal than you would think.

I finally received my dress I ordered Dec 5 to wear on NYE on Dec 31! Talk about the 11th hour. I love retro-stage's dresses. I have bought 3. Glamourous. Well-made. My problem is with their non-existent customer service. Have a phone # that works. Have a link to online chat assistance. Let customers know you are shipping from China & not the US. Transparency is key. These dresses are worth the wait, but you have to let your customers know there will be a wait. I will buy more dresses from you. I'll just plan far in advance. Thank you!

I ordered on Dec. 1 and the package still hasnt come and its Dec. 27th. The email I received said it would come in 8-15 business days. Then I emailed for a refund and they say they cant refund it yet because it has already shipped and they sent me a tracking link and its all Chinese characters! And I have paid USD for a package to come from China! They make it seem like an American site! What a scam

Don't waste your time

Absolute Wreck

I paid for two dresses and as many of them said I didn't hear until 9 days after my purchase that one of them was sold out. Also the phone number on their website is an invalid number and they took forever to email me back with poor grammar that I could barely understand. I want to be understanding of the language barrier but after everything else I'm just too irritated.
