I made this reservation for work. My employer needed to move the date 30 minutes later. I called reservation.com to cancel and they were going to charge me over$200 to cancel. I kept the appointment and work decided to not change my schedule. This site is not good for work situations. I literally tried to cancel the appointment within 30 minutes and they would not make an exception. Will never use this site again.
They show you the price in Canadian dollars and charge US... Also the fees are too high. I called them to have a refund of the difference and she told me that they reserve the right to bill in US.
I was trying to book a hotel room for my daughter's hockey tournament. When I googled the name of a hotel that had been suggested to me, I believed that what popped up was the hotel's own website. The rate seemed really good, and although the hotel was bare-bones without a pool and with only one queen bed in the room, I went ahead and booked. I was absolutely shocked when a couple days later, my credit card was charged more than double what I believed I was going to need to pay! I did not realize that I was booking through "reservations.com" and that their prices were in US dollars. With the exchange rate, plus the taxes, fees, and a booking fee they added on, the hotel came out to more than twice what I expected to pay. I tried to call reservations.com customer support, but I was told that the room I had booked was "non-refundable." What a terrible company. At no point in the booking process did I see that the rate was in US dollars, or that they charge a booking fee. Check VERY carefully when making a hotel booking online so that you don't make the same mistake I did.
I booked a reservation and realized that I made a mistake in my dates. The reservation was 6 months in advance. I literally called within 15 minutes of booking to cancel and they would not change, cancel or credit my reservation. This company is the worst. They have their talking points will not help to come up with a solution. I don't even want to give them one star!
This is the worse site ever - they are thieves! They add all kinds of charges and you end up spending so much more than any other site!
Don't throw your money away and they are rude as well.
I searched for the hotel near the riverwalk through google maps and clicked on what I THOUGHT was the direct hotel link. Turns out I clicked on the reservations dot com website by accident and ended up paying about $150 more than booking directly through the Omni website. $45 "service fee" on top of everything too. I hope this site goes out of business, their customer service is garbage as well (seems like an India based call center). Book directly through hotel websites and avoid this website.
The charge you a service fee which they don't disclose. I searched for a particular hotel and thought I was on the Hotel site and instead it was this reservation.com site our ot Dubai. They give you a rate that you are told is hotel taxes and fees, but they have included $19.97 service charge in it. And if you had gone to the Hotel site directly, which I thought I was on I would have paid about $30 less.
Reservations.com is a scam. They exist solely to add a BS "service fee" (the "service" is charging more than the hotel would directly, AND making it non-refundable, and non-cancelable). That's it. I'm sorry all of you who work there couldn't find better jobs.
I thought I was using the hotels website, but got this one by mistake. When I got to the hotel, I found out they were charging $169.99 per night with a tax of 10% for a total of $186.62. Reservations.com charged $199.99 per night with tax and fees of 28% with an additional service fee of $19.99 for a total of $276.11. That is an overcharge of $89.49. Do not use this website. You will regret it. Go directly to the hotels site for your best deals.
I made the mistake of just using Google to search for a hotel availability. This site was at the top of the list and looked professional so I booked my hotel before realizing how much of a scam this was.
I needed the room and didn't want to fight for a refund, so I just kept the reservation. When I got my receipt from the hotel, it was 100$ less that what I paid, and said it was booked through Expedia. So I'm pretty sure the service fee you are paying for is just them taking your money and rebooking it through Expedia for cheaper.
Total rip off. Lesson learned
This site is a scam. I was quoted $80, paying extra for a fully refundable room, and was charged $141. Called immediately to cancel the room and was told that I could not cancel on the same day. They refused to refund any of my reservation stating that no reservation is refundable on the same day. Don't use this site - total rip off.
We had a change in plans that was out of our control and they were completely unwilling to help us to change the reservation. The service Team was useless and actually hung up on us while we were speaking with them. There is no value in dealing with this company! STAY AWAY!
Policy states to call 2 days prior reservation to cancel. I called they said I wouldn't get a refund for canceling. I made reservation a week ahead of time, if I would have canceled 2 days after I made reservation I still would have been charged and not refunded. Don't ever use this site!
Very deceptive business practices: Reservations.com poses as the actual hotel when it is not. After I made a hotel reservation I received the attached email confirmation. The cost is more than $50 higher than when booking through the actual hotel, (which I thought it was). I contacted Reservations.com less than three minutes after making the reservation and they refused to issue a refund.
I booked 2 nights at a red roof inn thinking I was using their corporate website. I was redirected to this trash company who stole $80 from me when I needed to check out early.
I thought I was booking through the hotel but I had not paid close enough attention. It was through this website. There were all kinds of extra fees charged so I decided to cancel my reservation within a minute of making the reservation. They charged me $23.00 just to make the reservation which is non-refundable and told me it will take 10-15 days for the money to get back on my card. This place should be taken out of business.
I thought I was booking a hotel for $275 but when the confirmation email arrived it was $388. I immediately called and they told me there was 1 night minimum penalty, so basically nothing I can do. Rip off.
Absolutely the worst service I've ever received. I am literally appalled by the behavior that I encountered by their customer service. I called them while trying to help my colleagues rearrange their upcoming hotel bookings through reservations.com. Their agents hung up on me twice while I tried to resolve some issues, one of them was supposedly a supervisor, and one of the issues was a mistake made by their own agent. The "supervisor" told me that it was impossible for an agent to make a mistake in the booking that I made over the phone. What? Since when is it impossible for someone to make a mistake? Our company will never use this site again.
This web site is a total RIPOFF, they have the best marketing staff in the world that can redirect your inquiry to themselves rather than the hotel. Once there the site looks exactly like the hotel's and you continue on as if you are "talking" to the hotel. Once they have your information including your credit number, they tack on un-Godly surcharges. Too late, you have been had! All of their rates are non refundable and you absolutely can not get any part of your money back. I am sure they whistle a happy tune on the way to the bank with your scammed money.
1st their site looks like it is the hotel's site. I'm in Canada, booking a room in Canada. There was no indication at the top what currency they were using so I assumed it was Canadian. When I checked out there was no mention of currency. 3 minutes later when I got confirmation each line on the totals charged showed USD beside it --- where was that when I booked? I called immediately, they said it's non-refundable, I said I was deceived into thinking it was Canadian. He said we're a US company, so that's what we charge. I said well how was I to know you were US company, no answer. I said why in checkout did it not show USD but did in confirmation, no answer. I said where does it show it's in US currency, he said at the very bottom, as if we read every word on multiple pages. Trying to deal with them through e-mail was brutal. I would ask a question, they generally just sent back a generic response. When I did reply to an actual answer, another rep would reply and I doubt they even read my previous note. One day I replied 5 times and each time I got a different rep. I finally gave up and just paid the US currency price otherwise I would have lost all that $$$ as my card was charged. Make sure you read everything or you will be dealing with someone not expected and you will be scammed. I'm sure they aren't the only company dealing this way. I certainly learnt my lesson!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
