I had a lot of windows open on my computer when I was making a hotel reservation. I accidentally pressed submit on the wrong one- Reservations.com. I immediately realized my mistake and contacted them to refund me. They cancelled the hotel booking but refused to refund me their $20 fee. I understand if I had allowed time to lapse between the booking and my contacting them, as if I had thought about it and changed my mind or changed my travel plans, but I simply made a human error and if they looked at the timestamps on their end, they would see that. They apparently think we're all robots. They claim their fee is for customer support before and during travel- something I clearly don't need and would therefore not like to pay for.
Do not fall prey to this group. They have a sneaky way of presenting themselves like you are really making the reservation directly thru the hotel website, but you are not. My hotel has a one day cancellation policy and they are holding me to a 8 day cancellation policy. I have a change of plans and called customer service and they want to charge me for one night along with their other BS fees. They are very rude and a horrible company to do business with. If they try to charge you, just call your credit card company and lodge a complaint which I will be doing and they normally will research the dispute and agree to credit you back your money. Dont ask them for a refund as they will not offer anything, just go direct to your credit card company and report them as a fraudulent website.
BUYER BEWARE!
Reservations.com sucks you in with valid, competitive offers and subtotals the full cost of the proposed offer for your inspection. You are then given the the opportunity to agree/or disagree with their no cancelation policy which reads as follows:
"This rate is non-refundable and cannot be changed or canceled - if you do choose to change or cancel this booking you will not be refunded any of the payment. "
Up to this point in their process everything is legitimate, but once you agree and provide your payment information, you receive your confirmation and a big surprise service fee that was never agreed to in advance (see included pic of the after the fact confirmation). I had no apprehension to their non-refundable policy, but adding an unagreed-upon service charge after the fact is a major problem, because I didn't agree to not being entitled to recourse in the event of fraud, and what they're doing is clearly within the legal definition of fraud.
When I called the hotel directly, they confirmed that Reservations.com had booked my reservation as promised, but they did so, posing as PRICELINE.COM. I called Priceline.com directly and they had absolutely no knowledge of Reservations.com activities.
I reported Reservations.com to Priceline.com, Wyndham Inns/La Quinta, and called my credit card issuer and filled out a dispute. Fortunately, I have screen-shots of everything I was offered and agreed to, but that doesn't change the fact that this was/is an unnecessary hassle that im now being forced to deal with at a time when there are many other things I should be focusing my attention on.
DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH RESERVATIONS.COM
Room rate was $90 and I did the booking and they charged $149. I called immediately to cancel and they said "oh sorry no cancellations". SCAM SCAM SCAM
I would never use this service again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. Admittedly, I made a mistake when making the booking. I selected the wrong dates by one day and I didn't notice that in the footer, the pricing was in USD instead of CAD. When I realized my error, I called and tried to have the booking modified to no avail. Over and over, I just hear, sorry this is a non-refundable and non-changable booking and there is nothing we can do. It's the most frustrating experience I've ever had. If it was a great deal, maybe I would understand but I ended up paying significantly more than the room would have been if I'd booked directly through the hotel. So ridiculous. I will definitely be more careful in future but will NEVER use reversations.com for anything.
I accidentally booked a hotel reservation with this site because I thought that I was booking directly with the hotel (this is an imposter site and they disguise themselves as the actual hotel website). I noticed the error immediately after booking when the charge to my card was more than the website stated. I called to request a refund but they refused. My reservation was cancelled and they kept my money, so now I'm out $200+ with NO HOTEL RESERVATION. Customer service is a joke and they refuse to do anything to rectify the situation. DO NOT BOOK WITH RESERVATIONS.COM! I learned my lesson the hard way. I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well, but I'm not hopeful anything will be resolved.
This is the only bad experience I have ever had with booking hotels online. I am a senior. Like so many of the reviews here, I too have had a very disturbing and negative experience while trying to book a hotel hours away for my husband's surgery. I didn't realize at the time that this was not the hotel but a booking site. My mistake. However my complaint is that it did not say on the website that the prices were in US$. When I made the booking it said 'thanks for booking', the price did NOT show US$. However, when I received my confirmation email, showing the price was in US$, I immediately notified the company via email to cancel. I explained the circumstances of our visit to Toronto. After several emails back and forth, they said that the site indicated it was CLEARLY in US$. I asked them to show me where it was clearly indicated. THEY DID NOT! 6 times I tried to cancel online using their "portal' (which they suggested several times) instead of calling the number listed as it would have been be a long distance cell phone call. The portal never worked. All it would accept was banking the 30+ US$ fee to use on a future booking. After about 6 emails, they finally said they could cancel my booking (which was 2 weeks away) if I gave them permission, still keeping their 'fee'. Their emails said basically 'sorry for the inconvenience' and always finished with 'thank you for choosing Resevations.com.'
NOTE: Since this experience, I went back to the website and if you scroll down all the way to the very bottom of the site there IS a very small box that says US $. Again my mistake. Usually the sites I have used let you choose the option at the top of the web page in full view.
SHAME ON THEM! This company deserves 0 star rating but sadly that was not an option!
Marina Inn SF listed as 4.5 stars out 5. This is a 1 Star hotel. The pictures must be 20 years old.
Price from this site is actually higher than from hotel directly - a rip off.
There is hidden charge around $100 by reservation.com.
Once reserved, it becomes non-refundable.
Stay away from it...
I used the telephone number on the hotels web site and it was reservations.com and did not know it at the time! I booked and my daughter booked calling direct. On our way, we were discussing the room…she paid a total of $142 including taxes for one nite. They charged me $222 for one nite having the same room! I called to cancel and they would NOT cancel as I could have gotten a KING SUITE FOR $165 TAXES INCLUDED! DO NOT EVER USE RESERVATIONS.COM! I talked to the hotel and they said they have been trying to get their phone number off their site for years and have not been able to do so. Long story short…ALWAYS CALL THE HOTEL DIRECT!
I booked a hotel months ago through Reservations.com. When I checked out, the receipt from the hotel was $93+ less, so I naturally thought I would get a refund. The hotel couldn't do it and Reservations.com would not! I understand them taking a fee but $93 on a two night hotel stay! Ridiculous.
Just call the hotel directly to make your reservations. I learned an expensive lesson.
We wanted to cancelled the first night of our reservation and we were charge $150 MORE than the fee for the actual room that one night! (The charge for the room plus an additional $150!) We only had one day after we made the reservation to cancel without being charged and we were past the one day. We thought we were reserving rooms through the hotel directly. It shows up under false premises. This company's policy is despicable and it's unfortunate that it pops up online so quickly. This was a very bad experience and an expensive one!
Ms. Greil
I assumed I was calling the hotel directly, but unfortunately, the number that came up for the hotel was reservations.com. I called and booked 4 rooms for our workers, the girl processed it 10 times on one of our company cards and ended up blocking the card in doing so. I gave her a new card to process it. By the time I got the email confirmation, our client called to postpone the job. I called to cancel the rooms, they refused. I then called back to change the booking date to when the job was postponed to and they also refused. PLEASE BE CAREFUL, MAKE SURE YOU ARE DEALING WITH THE HOTEL DIRECTLY. I called the hotel and they said they can't change the dates either because their screen is greyed out and they have no access. The hotel said they are expedia.ca but my email came from reservations.com. They must be the same rip-off company under a different name. BE CAREFUL! They are thieves.
They will literally steal money from you, after making a reservation at a hotel and it saying it has free cancelation I was then told that they will not refund and of my $340.00. I was ready to stay at the hotel until I walk in and seen roaches crawling on the wall.
I would highly recommend that no one uses Reservations.com for any of your reservations. I recently booked a Hotel with them for my scheduled conference in Dallas, Texas. I was advised that the hotel has all of the amenities including safe parking. However, when I arrived at my hotel in Dallas, Texas I was surprised to learn that the hotel had no parking and the closets paid parking was approximately 7 to 10 minutes walking distance in hot 92-degree weather while at the same time, many sidewalks were closed due to construction in the area which required people to often walk on the side of the roadway. Furthermore, While checking into the Hotel, La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Dallas Downtown, 302 S Houston St, Dallas, Texas *******, I noticed that people were walking around the lobby area all high and the smell of marijuana was making me smell like a walking marijuana plant. I advised the clerk that I need closer parking due to items that I was scheduled to take with me every day while I was attending the conference and having to walk to a parking lot that was no were near the hotel was not a good option. The hotel clerk reported that I had to contact the party where I booked my reservation. I immediately contacted Reservations.com and explained to the customer service the misinformation provided to me at which time, Reservations.com after acknowledging the inconvenience stated that they could not cancel the reservation and refused to allow the days after to even be canceled. I advised Reservations.com that I would contact my credit card provider and dispute the charge since I was misled into booking at this horrible location. To top it off, the room next to me was having a party at 5 PM blasting music and I was able to hear it as soon as I stepped out of the elevator. Please be careful if you decide to use reservations.com. They will refuse to cancel any part of your reservations and what you are told is not what you will see with your own eyes once you arrive at your destination.
Reservations.com uses a bait and switch operation to fool you. Once they have your name, address & credit card info. They notify you of their terms and conditions. This was not provided or accessible before purchase. NO REFUNDS, NO CANCELATIONS, no how no way. Even if it is 2 minutes after you make it. A service fee of 19.99 and tax of $80.00 will be added to your charges and the room price of $74.00 is only for the first night. The remainder of your stay will be $130.00 per night.
I did a search for "Days Inn.com" Thought I was at their website. Reservations.com really fooled me and took my money. I received nothing for my payment.
I did the hotel reservation through the Reservations.com and just seconds after I checked my itinerary that came to my e-mail. It was everything good until I saw that after the price showed $418 (including taxes and fees) the Resort fees need to be paid at the hotel in addition to price that I already paid. I immediately called to Reservations.com and have been told my reservation is not cancelable. If I cancel I won't receive my money. I was blamed that I did not check all places on the website. Your website made the way that people like me, old woman of 67 years old, got caught in this situation. You are the fraud.
Do not trust this company. They are horrible. Hung up on me 3x after I complained about not getting my refund. Misleading and manipulative advertising. DO NOT USE!
I reserved a hotel room with this group. The listed cost on the Internet was $ 64. After paying for the room, the charge was $ 110. I called to cancel the reservation immediately and was told the payment was non-refundable.
Do not use Reservations.com. They are basically a relatively legally functioning Scam._ They do not disclose all their fees, nor do they properly disclose all their "Agreements" that lock you in, so that as soon as you book with them, you will not be getting your money back._ In our case, when we booked a couple nights with a hotel, we did not know the booking was through Reservations.com until the confirmation email came in (with the additional fees now showing up). We shrugged it off at the time, because we figured that was the end of our dealings with Reservations.com. Unfortunately, the hotel turned out to be having renovations going on, which was not disclosed by Reservations.com. So, we went without hot water at times, and without water all together at other times. The services offered by the hotel were reduced to zero, and dust was everywhere._ We complained to the Hotel Manager, and he admitted he felt the hotel shouldn't even be open, but that decision was above his head. Regardless, he offered a refund. But... when it was learned that our booking was through Reservations.com, we were informed that we had to submit the complaint through them before the refund could be issued. He assured us, though, that as soon as Reservations.com contacted him, he would confirm everything and approve the refund. Our sister-in-law was staying in the same hotel with with, and she had to go through the same process because she had booked through Priceline... Priceline issued her the refund the very next day._ But for us... who submitted the complaint per Reservations' instructions a. S.a. P... well... we occasionally got an email every few days saying that they were still looking into a resolution... until finally... over 1 month later! They have sent an email declining the refund "per our agreement with Reservations.com upon booking"... What agreement are they referring to? I can't get them to tell me! They won't even contact the hotel. We have just been dumped, and after a month! Reservations.com takes your money... that is all they do.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
