Never received my confirmation email.! Was not told room was non refundable!
When I called to try to cancel my reservation due to tornado warning where hotel is I was not able to cancel room said there was no warning at my house. Duh people do you really want me to knowingly drive towards the tornado?
Will not call them again for a reservation!
98$ down the drain.
How does a company with this many bad reviews even exist? I admit, I was fooled. They present themselves as being the reservation for the hotel directly. I thought I was on the La Qunita site. When I saw the $20 bogus fee plus the higher price for the night, I started to investigate. I cancelled my reservation but they kept my $20! They need to be shut down. SCAM! $20 for doing nothing.
In addition to heavy accents that make you continuously saying Huh? I knew ahead of time i might only stay 1 day but maybe 2. I was told she would make the 2nd night refundable. When tried to sign out i was told i had to have canceled my reservation days before i had even made it. I asked for s supervisor that i never got to talk to. I was called back 10 to 15 min and told it would take several days but that they would reverse the charge. Took 45 minutes to resolve and they made me check out of the room before they would take it to the next level.
The site said that I could cancel at no cost. But they hid a transaction fee, which was substantial. I would never use them again.
If you're reading this, than like me, it is probably already too late. If you search for a particular hotel, they have engineered their site to look like it is the site, which belongs to that hotel. It is bogus, and when you make your reservation they add a large service fee. Then when you try to cancel the reservation, you get an "Error 404: Page not found" message. I emailed them and I was informed that my reservation was non-refundable. I did not want to do business with these people, but I wound up there anyway, and it is costing me.
I thought I was making a reservation through the hotel site. The person who answered kept talking very fast and I could not understand him at all. I had to ask him to repeat literally everything. He actually lied to me and told me there was only one room left and it was one of the more expensive rooms. That turned out not to be true. After he gave me my total, which I knew was outrageous, he then told me that I would also have to pay a $40 fee for a deposit. Isn't that what the credit card number is for? When I told him that I could not afford the deposit amount, he put me on hold for several minutes. I don't know if he was trying to get that reduced so I would keep the booking. I am sure they work off commission. I ended up hanging up without him coming back to the line, And when I went through a different service, I found out that there were several rooms available at a lower price. So he lied to me about it being the very last room and I had to act quickly in order to reserve it. What a scam. Do not use these people under any circumstances!
My hotel gave me a credit for two nights. Since I booked with Reservations.com, they receive the refund from the hotel. It has been four months and I have not received the refund. Basically what this company does is they tell you there going to issue the refund and hope that after four months your just going to give up and they get to keep your refund. There customer service is extremely poor. Do not use this company for your travel arrangements!
I believed I was making the reservation with the hotel but found out later it was actually reservations. Com. The first thing that happened was my credit card company notified me of fraudulent charges and canceled my card. I tried to change my reservation and soon discovered this wasn't an option even though the customer service spiel said it was. I finally got an email from them with all the info concerning my reservation. I will say 2 of the Customer Service reps were polite but the third was aggressive and awful.

They present their site to make you think you are booking directly with the hotel. Suggest that you can get a refund except for the non-refundable $19.00 fee. They are lying. They will never give you a refund, even if requested within a few minutes of the original reservation. As soon as I determined I was not booking directly with the property.
I never make unrefundable reservations but dis this time. We had a death in the family and cannot make our trip and the customer service person was very cold and would do nothing to help. All she would say is there is no option to cancel which from other reviews I see is not true. I will never use this site again and warn others not to either.
I also was scammed! At least twice I asked if this was the desk of a particular hotel and was told it was! I several times mentioned the fact that I would be using a VA Voucher to pay for my room, and never once did they say that I might have the wrong number. They screwed me out of$106.37. And when I tried calling the number, I originally called there was no answer! How can I give them a rating when 1 star is too much? I can't believe they can keep getting by with this with the horrible reviews they get! Another rip off for them. A hard lesson learned on my part!
I live in Canada and made a reservation at a Canadian hotel, but was charged in USD. I didn't realize this until I received my credit card bill a month later. There was no indication during the online checkout phase that I was being charged in USD. After calling and escalating the issue, repeatedly, there was nothing they could do because I had already used the reservation. I was told I should have switched the currency to CAD and that since this is an American corporation (with customer support in India?) they charge everyone USD.
Furthermore, you will be charged 19.99 USD for the convenience of using the site (28.01 CAD). Again, this is not made clear upon checkout. In short, you're better off calling the hotel directly and negotiating a price. This site is disingenuous and should not be trusted!
I booked a room for one night at a hotel through this site, the booking agent booked me three times for the same room charging me $133 for each one. So my card got charged nearly $400 for a room that cost $75 if I just walked in off the street and paid for it there. The customer service is not in the USA and their english is hard to understand. Now I'm waiting 7 to 10 Business days to find out if they will refund me for the two extra bookings they charged me for. Never again will I do business with these people.
I booked a $189 hotel room through this site. The confirmation email said that they had charged my card a TOTAL of $269! See charges below. I pitched a fit and they finally are refunding me (I hope) the full amount. It took a long time and threatening legal action. When I booked with Expedia the total including taxes was $216. These guys are shysters!
Room Sub Total: USD $187.06 (excluding taxes and fees)
Taxes & Fees: USD $61.98
Sub Total: USD $249.04
Service Fee: USD $19.99
Total: USD $269.03 (including taxes and fees)
Reservations.com fake being the direct hotel property on their website. They charge more than the hotel does, charge your credit card upon booking for the full cost of the stay with no warning, and charge a ridiculous cancellation fee. And to top it off, the "customer service" is rude and completely tone deaf.
Booked a room online. No indication that it was nonrefundable. Charged 260.00 extra for advertised 114.00 room. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. They will take your money and more. Terrible customer service. If we all boycott them, hopefully they will close
I had to do a quick reservation on my phone, which never do. I made the reservation and it was supposed to be 100 and it came to 129. (I assumed it was with fees and taxes) and that was the price but then I see my card and it was charged for 129 and an additional 19.99, I didn't see the charge until I looked at my credit card. I thought I was on the best western site booking directly. Thats what I looked for and thought I had that site because I wanted my best wester points so not only did I not get my points I was charged a higher price. I will tell everyone I see to make sure they don't get reservations.com what a scam
Deceptive web connection, you are not dealing with Motel6 (or other hotel). Higher rates. Lies about free cancellation. They immediately debit your card instead of holding the reservation and add $ 19.99 on top that is not refundable.
Pure rip off.
Very poor customer service. He was extremely rude and he lied to me when I tried to cancel my reservation... Straight thieving...I would give a -3 score if I could
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
