Went to the hotel's website to reserve a room. Clicked on make a reservation, was not made aware I was making the reservation thru a thitd party. Not only did they charge $20 more than the actual room, they also added a $15 processing fee. Upon check in I paid back for the room not knowing reservations.com already charged my card. Customer service is horrible! They asked for the receipt from the hotel then denied my refund, starting I was refunded by the hotel... not only did they lead me on for weeks, but made up a story to avoid a refund. I advise EVERYONE to NEVER use this site!

Class Action time
December 1, 2018

I was traveling and asked my wife to make me a reservation at a nationally recognized hotel. She went to what she thought was the hotel site, made a reservation. Interesting they have to doop you to get customers. Upon accepting, she forwarded to me on the road. I was four days from actually staying at the hotel we were reserving. I noticed immediately that the Hotel was booked for Portland, MN, not Portland OR. I called and attempted to make changes, and when that wasn't possible, I attempted to cancel the room altogether. They would not allow me to do either. I ended up paying the $500 for a room I could not use and they had no remorse and no recourse. They prey on the fact that you won't take them to court over small dollars. It would cost more in attorney fee's than to roll over and accept what they have stolen from you.

I will be seeking to join the class action I have heard about. I hear the attorneys are very aggressive and feel with all the people taken advantage of, there is a great case. Really looking forward to squeezing these crooks.

Check fine Print
November 30, 2018

I am a Canadian booking a Canadian hotel and booking from Canada. Thought the price looked a little better than Hotels.ca and both had free cancellation. Would only think as most hotels they take your credit card and charge you upon checkout. Nope... Charges instantly and then see prices are in USD. No big deal... I will Cancel... Oh wait. I was charged $14.99 USD to cancel. Better options out there. I will be back using hotels.ca

Do not use this site!
November 30, 2018

I reserved a hotel thru reservations.com. My sister booked the same hotel, for the same dates thru hotels.com. The night prior to our trip hotels.com called my sister letting her know the hotel had no water pressure, and they thought she needed to cancel her reservation. Hotels.com handled the notification to her and the cancellation. What great service she received. I called reservations.com and they wanted to charge half of my costs in cancellation fees. They would not and did not contact the hotel to see that they did have a problem. I called the hotel, they confirmed the issue and absolutely agreed I did not have to pay cancel fees since it was the fault of the hotel. I gave the name and number to the rep. I still have not received a confirmation of the cancellation. Horrible that I had to do her job for her. I believe the reps only can read from the script. From this point forward I will only use hotels.com!

Thousands of Hotels!
November 30, 2018

I was wondering just exactly what kind of hotels Reservations.com would offer. So I tried it out for myself as I was planning a weekend getaway just my wife and I. And whoa where there a lot of hotels to choose from! Thousands! But you can narrow your search easily.

Total
November 28, 2018

My wife is scheduled for surgery in Kingston Ontario Canada and we live one hour from there but due to the fact Her surgery is early in the morning, we decided to get a hotel room the night before. I went on line to find the Holiday Inn and clicked on a site believing it was the Holiday Inn site. I was given a quote of $109.00 for the room so I booked it. Immediately without having a chance to review it I received a confirmation email stating my total charge is $159.02 in U.S. Dollars! I contacted the Holiday Inn and they told me that it was a third party in the U.S. And that they couldn't do anything about it. I then contacted reservations.com and they guided me to the section of the confirmation email regarding cancellations showing it was non refundable! So, now I have a reservation for a room that cost me $217.00 Canadian! A total rip off at the highest level!

I just attempted to reserve a room on their website for February. When I was finished entering my information it immediately went to a confirmation before I even finished reviewing my data input. I did not get any breakdown of fees etc. I then noticed the fees added were almost $80. I contacted customer service Immediately and explained what happened. I was told I could cancel but it was non refundable and it was stated on the website with the breakdown of fees. I explained once again what happened and they said they were "sorry" but it was there. Basically implying that I was, in fact, lying. She stated she could put in a request for a waiver and I would know in 5-7 days. I agreed. I also asked for some type of confirmation of the phone call. She said that she couldn't but I could call back to confirm. This made no sense to me but I again agreed. I called back and it was a good thing that I did. The next person I spoke with told me that if I did request a waiver and it was denied I would still be charged the almost $300 and I would not have the room either. If my request to cancel and receive a waiver is denied why would I not still have my room? For obvious reasons I cancelled my request for the waiver as I would have potentially been out almost $300 with nothing to show for it. I'm assuming they would just rebook the room keeping my money, in effect making twice as much profit on it. This appears to be a very well hidden scam. Their website does a convenient "hiccup" and potential customers lose their money. I will never do business with this company again.

Where is my refund?
November 27, 2018

Booked a room for 4 days. Told the reservations.com rep I will probably be checking out after 2 days due to the fires in Redding Ca. No problem they said but may be subject to a penalty of $14. In short, I checked out early and they charged me for the entire 4 days. Reservations.com won't refund my money. I complained and was told they will reopen the file and look into it. Waiting on a response from them. (Be advised, I followed every early check out rule they had and still this became a problem... HUMMMMMMM.) I'll let everyone know how this turns out.

Elevator Out Entire Stay
November 26, 2018

The elevator was out our entire stay and we were on the 3rd floor. Two 59 year old ladies with knee issues - really!? And we had gone to the Texas Country Reporter Festival and had to drag our purchases up 3 flights of stairs, sort, then drag them down again. Very disappointed in our stay. Breakfast was horrible. Hot water with pieces of oatmeal floating in it. Pancake machine did not work during our entire stay. Stale muffins.

I like how easy it is to search for a hotel with Reservations.com. You can even narrow down your search to the attraction you want to stay close to! This is especially helpful for planning a vacation.

Canadians beware Sneaky
November 24, 2018

I was looking for a hotel in North Bay and came across a "Hot Deal" on this site. I am in Canada, booking a hotel in Canada. This unscrupulous site had no indication that the price they quoted wa in U.S. $'s this is not right. They also charge $15 of course U.S. To fulfill your order. Sneaky crooks. Wilfy

Be Careful.
November 22, 2018

You may think you're booking on the hotel's website, but instead you're going through this reservations.com nonsense. Everything on the screen appeared to be in Canadian CAD dollars, so I booked it. I only got a text msg confirmation saying "congrats your room is booked". No itinerary # or anything.
Only afterward did I realize that costs were in USD, which greatly increased my cost to travel.
You do get an emailed itinerary, but this company seems so illegitimate that my Gmail sorted it into my 'JUNK Folder', so I didn't see it.
The hidden $15USD ($20CAD) service fee is not explained up front.
This is a scam of a site to dupe people. Make sure you just call the hotel directly to book.

Thought I was booking direct with a hotel, but they were working with reservations.com.

I literally typoed the date.

There was no way to tell that the booking was not changeable or refundable until I tried to change it less than 2 hours after making it.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. They charge $14.95 and won't change a booking that was made ten months in advance. I have never been treated like this before. I'm talking to the hotel and will be trying to convince them to change services. I love that hotel, but may not book with them again until/unless they do, and will certainly be biased against hotels I find using them to provide their booking services in the future.

I travel enough to know that this isn't standard practice and I already know it's not the hotel's policy. In fact, at least their receptionist didn't even know reservations.com was doing this to their customers. They aren't just ripping off customers.

They're ripping off hotels, by offering a service and then treating those who use it so terribly they won't come back.

I went to daysinn.ca to reserve a room for the next day. I THOUGHT I was on the company site but somehow I got switched to reservations.com without realizing until AFTER I clicked OK to book. They did NOT show me a detailed breakdown of the cost before processing the transaction. They advertised $82 for the room but charged my account $120.38 in US dollars. This was over $163 CAD. I IMMEDIATELY phoned them and was told TOO BAD, there is NO refund if cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. I argued and finally they agreed to a PARTIAL refund. The kept over $30 CAD as a service fee. I will NEVER be so dupped again. I will book by phone in future. I am completely disgusted by their corrupt business practices.
