Buyer beware! USE BOOKINGS.COM INSTEAD of reservations.com! I booked the same Holiday Inn Resort for the same week on both Bookings.com and Reservations.com. Both said no cancellation fee if cancel before a certain date. I needed to cancel the rooms over a month before our reservation date, weeks before the cancellation deadline. It was super simple on bookings.com. I simply went to their website, entered my reservation #, and hit "cancel", done! I immediately received a confirmation email that I would be receiving a full refund and there was no cancellation fee. I then we to their website, could not find a way to cancel, so used their "chat" option. The chat person said they could not help. So I had to call. I called and the rep said their was a 1 night cancellation fee of $400 even though the cancellation policy on their site said otherwise. I went back and forth with her, then asked to drop the reservation down to just the 1 night and cancel the other days to avoid the cancellation fee. She said she could not modify the reservation, only cancel it and charge me the fee. Ridiculous! I asked to speak to a supervisor. The queue for talking to a supervisor was so long she had to take my phone # and said they would call me within 24hrs. It has been over 24hrs. And still no call. I even tried calling the resort to modify my reservation, but they said they could not do anything because I booked through reservations.com. I hope this review helps others not lose $400 on a cancellation fee like I did for such shady practices. USE BOOKINGS.COM INSTEAD! I got better pricing from them and had a much easier cancellation experience with a full refund.
I made a reservation and was charged for the room before the trip. The hotel had issues which necessitated to move us to a different hotel for the first 3 nights. The hotel also offered to refund the last night due to the inconvenience. Reservations.com did not communicate the hotel had reached out to tell us they needed to move us. Reservation.com did not communicate the hotel offered to refund the last night and would not refund to us the last night. A family member made a separate reservation directly with the hotel so we knew there were issues. I'm afraid we would have been on the street at arrival and reservations.com was keeping the money for the last night no matter what. Not a reliable company you can trust will help you when something happens.
I rented some rooms for vancouver BC and they ended up slapping $500.00 in fees on top of it after I booked and then told me it was not refundable.
False advertizing and a total rip off.
Do not use Reservations.com. I booked a hotel room in April, 2019. We arrived at our hotel June 15,2019. The hotel said I needed a confirmation number. I had the information Reservations.com had emailed me. Well... that was not what the hotel needed. I called the company, talked to three different people. Each one said, let me get the confirmation number. I was put on hold, and they finally came back and said they would call me back. I never received a call back from any of the three people I spoke with. I had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. The hotel had no rooms, so after three hours trying to get a confirmation number, I finally found a room at another hotel close by. There was a big event happening that night and most hotels were booked.
The customer service with this company is awful!
I was booking a stay with Marriott and somehow? Got diverted to reservations.com
The room was advertised at £92 a night
I gave all details name address card etc and the page crashed saying error
I immediately came off the site, unfortunately £133 was taken out my account with seconds, I rang the company straight away and explained about the site etc only to be told that the vat and fees page is displayed before card details which it wasn't there is no way I was going to pay £133 when Marriott site selling the same room for £92
I'm very annoyed that I fell for this site I honestly thought I was booking with Marriott direct.
I booked a hotel room thru reservations.com online. My daughters softball tournament days were changed so I called to ask about changing the date. The first representative that I talked with told me there was nothing that I could do and then decided he needed to yell at me. I asked to speak with a manager and he continued to yell at me. I was put on hold for 30 minutes and then hung up on. I called right back and spoke with a female and asked immediately to speak with a manager. She put me on hold and then told me that someone would call me. No call. I called back again and was put on hold yet again. Apparently there are no managers working there. If you are a hotel booking company you should allow flexibility in booking dates. And you should for sure provide better customer service. It was very obvious they do not care about the paying customer. Never use this company. They charge higher fees and taxes and their "booking rate". And then when you want to make a change, they yell at you and hang up.
Made a booking when my sister was in hospital for 2 days. Sister died next day. Checked out. Hotel could NOT find reservation. Checked me in. Left next day. Reservations charged me for 2 nights. Called them to get refund. NO REFUND! Said policy was clear when I made reservation. Company STINKS!
I thought I was making a reservation through Hilton and got a reservation number from Reservation.com. When I tried to cancel the reservation a couple of hours later I was told I had selected a non-refundable rate which was not true.
Absolutely do not use this company. They engage in unethical practices. The hotel reservation site doesn't say non refundable no change in reservation until after you book. It comes in the confirmation. If you call them they refuse to do anything about it. So many better sites out there.
Booking fees
No quotes in any currency other than American (without actually specifying up front that it IS American currency)
Unethical
GO WITH BOOKING.COM
This company should be avoided... They are just thiefs...
I wonder why this company is allowed to practice in the united states?
You must pay great money to get your listing first when a search is done for a specific hotel!
Have a funeral to attend so I had to book a last minute reservation and searched for the exact hotel I wanted. The Reservations.com site was the first to come up and looks like it is a hotels website and allows you to book as if you are on the actual site and provides the rate.
Once the booking is complete, you are told there is no cancellation and there is a $30 'service fee' so I paid $30 more for the same room I could've gotten directly on the hotels site.
I lost a family number and get kicked in the $#*! by this booking engine in the same day - yeah me!
Not sure how they can legally get away with their nonrefundable policy, especially when you are trying to make the change 4 months in advance. Closest thing I have seen to a scam without legal recourse.
I totally failed to pick the right dates when I booked my hotel in Italy. Customer service worked with me and the hotel, despite a bit of a language barrier, to rectify the situation. Much obliged!
Ask for a supervisor and your not allowed to talk to them. They keep you in a loop, put you on hold, repeat the same information the supevisor is too busy to talk you have to deal with me. But you can't help/ My supervisor say you have to talk to me.
I accidentally made reservations on the wrong date. ( I actually thought that I was on Marriotts website) I immediately try to contact them. They said that I had to wait until I received an e-mail. When I tried to cancel online, the screen just flashed. I called them and said that the reason that it did that was that it was non-refundable. This is a scam!
I can't even describe how rude the customer service was that I received was when trying to track down a receipt. How they are still in business is baffling to me.
This booking agency is awful. Based on a medical need, I could only stay at the hotel 3 of the 5 days. I notified the hotel and reservations.com, upon checking in, if this change. The hotel said it would be no issue but that since I went through s third party, the third party would have to release the funds back to me. When I spoke with reservations.com, they told me that they could not do anything until after I checked out of the hotel and to give them a call back. Upon checking out of the hotel, reservations.com told me they would need to contact the hotel to ensure the hotel would release the funds back to them. Well, they told me they would email and/or call me within one business day. One business day turned into several and I ended up having to call them. After speaking with someone, I asked to speak to a manager. That individual told me that there was not a manager available and that I would have to call a different number and leave a message. After finally getting a hold of a manager (and a week later), the manager said they would follow-up and personally give me a call back. No manager called me back! I received an email, only after emailing the company with my complaint. They denied reimbursing me because they said the hotel would not release the funds. I called the hotel and they said it would not be an issue. I then emailed reservations.com and still have not heard anything from them regarding the reimbursement of the days I did not stay. They did state they would give me a military discount and email me a check for the difference. To date I have not received anymore emails or a check. It's been a month! They owe me $303.16 for the military reimbursement and $286 for the nights I did not stay at the hotel!
The problem with this website is that you start out on a hotel's page and are redirected to reservations.com. You may not even realize that you are on their website if you start from the hotel's reservation website. Once you click the confirm button it's too late you lost your money if you need to make any changes Or cancel your reservation. The hotel doesn't get your money and neither do you. You are 100% scammed. Your credit card company won't help. And the hotel that you intended to book won't help you. DO NOT USE THESE THIEVES.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
