They are not clear and upfront and they add extra pricing into their charges without listing them. They are criminals and awful. I have called and called to get a refund when I saw the additional charges... STAY AWAY
They are totally misleading on bookings, they tell you after you book and give credit card digits code its in usd and then you find out cannot cancel reservations. Added addition fee afterwards my booking in my own canadian city for two nights $403 dollars I could not believe these crooks. Still trying to receive something back.
Ray B.
They are simply Godless crooks. They do not show the entire amount what they will charge. They send you a receipt with totally different amount after. There is nobody to talk to in their office. There is a pending $95 million lawsuit and probably criminal complain. RUN AWAY IF YOU SEE THE NAME.
Searched Google for the hotel and clicked on the first link. BIG MISTAKE. The link took me to a site that looked like the hotel site but was actually reservations.com. I booked the room for $109 and when I got my confirmation I discovered I was charged $158.64. They had added $29.65 in taxes and fees plus a "service fee" of $19.99. I then called the hotel directly and booked the same room for a total of $122.08, which was the $109 for the room plus $13.08 for state and local taxes. So the reservations.com booking was a total ripoff. Then I went and cancelled the reservations.com room and, of course, the $19.99 "service fee" was nonrefundable!
They know they're running a scam because they offered to drop the "service fee" if I would keep the reservation. However, I would not take that deal because I was so angry with them over the inflated taxes and fees and the general underhanded methods they use. I will be a lot more careful in the future and will never book through this company ever again.
I search on the holiday inn express site, for a room in salt lake city on commence street, some how it switch to reservation desk. I asked if this was the hig stir, the lying bastards said yes. When i got to salt lake city they had booked a room in lake city Florida 3000 miles away, on commence street, i call and a rag head answered, she spoke no english, and said nothing she could do, and took $ 650 dollars out of my account. Stay away for these 3rd world prices of $#*!. I would have rated them less but less than one
In case you need to know my name i John H Bright III, a real person
Called what we thought was a hotel in Canada. We booked a room and understood it to be non-refundable which was OK since we were about 30 minutes out. Got to the hotel and found that the 1) we had not spoken to the hotel but had called reservation.com instead and 2) the price we had paid was more than the rate we would have paid as a walk up at the hotel. In addition, we had paid $20 booking fee. Yes, it was all clearly spelled out in the email that we had received, once we signed into wifi at the hotel. Too late! Never again.
Most crappiest online reservation place ever! Over charged 35 bucks for service fees wtf! $ and 15 for taxes
I recently booked a reservation with this company for the first time. When making the reservation, I explained I was part of a wedding group and gave the agent my hotel code. The agent acknowledged it, and I assumed I was receiving the group rate. Upon checking in at the hotel, I learned I had not received the group rate and I was paying almost double the rate. After returning home, I called the *******090 number. I was told no refund could be given. When I asked why, the agent said it was too late as it was after my stay.
I got the number of the Oxford Suites in Pismo Beach, California from their website. When I called the number from their website, the guy that answered the call sounded weird. I asked if this was the hotel site I had reached. He kept saying yes, yes, yes. After the registration was completed, he told me the total amount that would be charged ed to my card. It sounded really high and I asked him to give me a breakdown of charges. He said he would email me with the information. Later in the evening I received that breakdown and found I had been lied to about working with the hotel and a $14.99 service fee had been applied. I decided to call and cancel the reservation, but found in very small print that the $14.99 would not be refunded. I feel scammed with no way to fight this. What a racket they have going for themselves!
I was originally quoted a $109 price for a one-night stay. At the end of the phone call, I was told the price would be $155. When I asked why so high, I was told it was taxes and fees. When I asked them to just cancel, they offered to take off $14.99. I told them no, and to just cancel. They did. Then I saw that I had a credit card chard for the $14.99. That was not mentioned. I was shocked! NEVER NEVER NEVER use this site! If I could give a 0 on the rating, I most certainly would!
I booked a 2 night stay at the Hampton inn, in Idaho and thought I was getting the advertised price that I was looking at on-line. But when I got my bill it was $277 more than the quoted price. I am disputing this charge with my credit card company but not sure if I can get it back. They are a total rip off company.
I called them today and they put me on hold for 53 min. And then told me the manager will return my call within 24 hrs.
I am not holding my breath. I will contact the better business bureau
I was out of town and looking for a room on my phone. I came across what I thought to be the hotel corporate reservations line. I called *******033 They didn't advise me that they were a booking agent. When I checked out I asked for a receipt. That's when I found out what was going on, The reservation number was different and was paid for by an American express card that I don't have. The amount for the room was $74 dollars and change and was charges on that AM. EX card. I was charged $108 dollars and change. A totally dishonest business practice.
After further investigation. reservation.com went through Expedia to book my room. The Am Ex charge card on my hotel receipt was in the name of Expedia.
Told me cheapest rate, booked hotel for 50 dollars cheaper. I asked the lady before I booked if I could cancel, they said I got a full refund until midnight. I just called 5 minutes later and she is saying not a full refund as it is in penalty window. I am disputing charge on my credit card and please stay far away from this company... criminals.
As others have indicated, do not use this site under any circumstances. A room that should have cost $79 wound up costing me $130 through reservations.com. Additional charges/fees were only made clear after the reservation was made. Customer service provided no assistance in trying to reach a more equitable outcome. Stay away!
They charge ridiculous fees. A $54 room at the travelodge in cordele, ga ended up $89. They added a $20 for "taxes and fees" - $10 more than on the actual travelodge site, plus another non-refundable $15 fee. When i called to question the charges and cancel the reservation, they said the $15 was not refundable, but they would waive it if i kept the reservation, but their other fees were also higher. The same room booked directly with travelodge was $65 - $24 cheaper!
Check the Better Business Bureau first and read the 254 complaints also see various other sites that tell what happened to others like me. I made a reservation for a specific type of room that included breakfast. I get to the hotel and I have a basic room and no breakfast included. Of course I called the reservation center and was told by the supervisor that it was my fault for making the reservation online as he put it "by myself". What is the point of booking online making the correct selections and then being told it's my fault for not getting their help. I know what I selected and I didn't get it.
We booked a hotel at an agreed upon price. When we arrived they were going to charge us $40 more due to our small dog (La Quinta in Elk City, OK). When we stated that wasn't in the price we left and immediately contacted reservations.com. There response was basically tough luck. We fought the charges and still were ripped off a nights stay. DO NOT USE.
I thought I was booking with the hotel directly. When I realized my mistake I contacted them for a refund. They shorted me $50 and refuse to refund it saying it is exchange rate between Canadian and US dollars
I'm usually very careful not to use a booking agent and always call the hotel which is what I thought I did while traveling on the road today. I Google searched, and it appeared to be the actual hotel. I asked repeatedly if it was because he was somewhat rushed and rude(1st hit of a problem). He repeatedly assured me that this was in fact Laquinta & Wyndham. He also said there was only one room left at this location, completely false on everything.
I was charged a $14.99 booking fee which was included in the rate he quoted but explained as hotel tax. It actually was a separate transaction on my credit card. The amount for the actual room was less than that, probably what they pay out? He also wouldn't honor my AAA discount... another obvious tipoff.
Hotel was prepaid upon my arrival and completely dead, not at all sold out...
So far my rush to book didn't amount to too big of a RIP off compared to what I'm reading but I feel that they now have my info, including email. I have alerted my credit card company to their shady practices and am on the lookout for any other charges.
Be aware and follow your intuition!
I have had a terrible experience with reservations.com. I am a Canadian and I booked a hotel in Canada from Montana and they charged me in US funds. The hotel was $190.00 Canadian and in the end reservations.com charged me $251.21 CDN plus a $17.70 service fee. So be ware Canadians do not book with this company, even if you are in Canada and book with them, they will still charge you in US funds. I will never, never book with this company again, very poor customer service.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
