My husband made a reservation and typed in the wrong date, but caught it right after he made the reservation and wanted to change the day by 1 day... talked to customer service wouldn't budge. Said can't change anything after the reservation was made. It wasn't 5 min. After it was made just needed to change by 1 day. Talked to supervisor she said to bad can't change anything! Will never use again and will tell all my friends not to use them. They suck! Made me pick 1 star... doesn't deserve any!
They hijack your search of your hotel. Make you beleive you are on the hotel reservation site. Advertise the room rate then add on significant fees and service charges. Only to discover you can cancel the reservation minus their 19.95 service charge... what a scam!
Pretend to be Hotel's wesite, no need to sign up or sign in. You don't know your getting charged USD until after transaction has gone through. Lots of hidden fees added on. All reservations not cancellable from what I can tell. Delta/Marriott should not allow this to happen. When you call reservations.com to complain they laugh at you because they know what they're doing.
Scam. Deceptive. Do not use. And shame on Marriott for allowing this company to book their reservations. Would give a 0 if possible.
They make you think you are contacting the hotel directly but you have been diverted to Reservations.com and now you have an extra 20 dollar service fee that you didn't agree to.
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE company! They pretend to be a hotel's website, charge more in "taxes and fees" than is legitimate, and then charge an outrageous "service fee" for absolutely nothing! They don't let you see the entire charge until AFTER it is already charged, so there's no way to know about these fees until after the reservation is made. But then it is too late, as they refuse to make any changes or refunds. When typing a hotel's name into a Google search, this comes up first, but it isn't apparent that it's not the hotel's website. Google needs to ban this company! They must pay Google exorbitant amounts to be listed first in a search, and Google allows this fraudulent company to continue to take advantage of unsuspecting consumers. If I could give 0 stars or even negatives, I would! They don't deserve even 1 star!
My company uses an online travel booking service called Concur, but the hotel I needed to book in Paducah, KY wasn't showing government rates. I went onto their website and found the phone number, which connected me to reservations.com. The person who took my information gave me a "super discount rate", supposedly, and told me I'd get a confirmation email. No email came. I called the next day and it turned out that she had put down "inc" in my email address as "ink". Wow. OK. Fixed that, but no confirmation came the next day either. I found out I could book at the hotel across the street which did offer government rates, so I called to cancel my reservation with them. A couple of days later, I found a $19.99 charge on my credit card that was never mentioned when I'd called, and I had to dig to find it on their website -- it's an unrefundable charge for using their service. They're crooks, plain and simple.
I made a reservation with reservation.com in Hood River, OR and then the weather changes and there was an ice storm warning. I called the hotel and they were happy to refund my money, but I had to go through reservation.com. I called them and they assured me it was fine as long as the hotel approved. So, after double checking with the hotel I canceled with reservation.com. Then, when my refund never went back in my account I called back and they said they needed more time. Well, after over a month now and many many emails and phone calls later, they are refusing to give me my money back. Again, this is AFTER they assured me they would! The hotel manager has been trying to help me. She wrote emails and made phone calls on my behalf and still nothing.
We made a one night reservation at the inn in Boyonton beach FL wirh Reservations.com their booking agent.
The place had BUGS! Wre were only in the room a few minutes and left! We were told the hotel would not put forward the charge and would fix it when the manager returned so we would not be charged.
They Lied!
When we got our credit card statement, there was the charge! Reservations.com was called and a barely english speaking person in a noisy room was of little help! DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE!
I was talking to the representative to get a quote. I guess I was wasting his time because he hung up on me
Add on fees and advertise discounts which are not true. They use deceptive advertisement and fast talking barely English.
You think you are booking a room though the hotel but instead you get a bonus $19.95 fee for using their "service " and end up paying more than the standard room rate.
DO NOT USE RESERVATIONS.COM.
Beware! Do not use this business for your reservations! If you have any trouble at all, they will not assist you. I accidentally booked the wrong location within the same city. I immediately contacted Reservations.com upon receiving the confirmation email (less than 5 minutes) and was told they could not do anything for me since it is a non-refundable reservation. I have never had such poor customer service anywhere for anything; bypass this awful company and make your reservations with other reputable companies (maybe hotels.com - I have not ever had trouble with them). This bad experience ruined my day and cost us money we don't have.
Thought I was on the hotels page for reservations. Booked the room only to find out there was a $19.95 booking fee! This was not disclosed prior to selecting the room and entering payment. Beware! I will be.
First, they make it seem like it is the reservation site for the hotel you want.
Second, they bait and switch. (I asked for a specific hotel in a specific city. When I got the confirmation email, I discovered they reserved me in a hotel in a different city.)
Third, they have a no refund policy which they don't tell you about until the confirmation email. Even though I called within minutes of making the reservation to tell them the errors, they refused to cancel it. I have contacted my credit card company and they have refunded the entire amount because of this fraud.
Will never use this site again, got to it by mistake and thought I was contacting the hotel chain (Wyndham) reservation system. Just made the reservation today. Reservations.com charged me 19.99 each for two reservations with 2 rooms on each reservation. At the least, why couldn't they combine my 4 rooms for a family reunion into one reservation so I would be charged only one 19.99 fee? A site not to be trusted!
Booked for 2 nights. The day of the booking and the following night. After taxes and fee's, $394.97. They booked for the following week. I immediately called the hotel (which I thought I was booking through- not a 3rd party). They had no record of the reservation and informed me that the were booked full for the night. Called Reservation.com and got the run-around. Had me call the hotel to get approval to cancel (make sure to get the name of who gives the permission). I found out that the hotel does not have my payment, it goes to Reservation.com then they pay the hotel later. Hence, them telling me to get permission from the hotel is B. S. After several calls and demanding to speak to a supervisor, they said they will refund me in 7-10 days and send me an email confirming. Well, I haven't got an email and 7-10 days will be after the booking. I just have to wait and see for now.
I would highly recommend using this sight. Just be aware that it's not the actual hotel, it is a booking service for the hotel. They were actually amazing for me. I booked 3 rooms trying to use a promo code for a discount. I ended up not using the proper web site to get the discount and got charged full room rate. I emailed them, explained my situation and they very politely responded and fully refunded my money!
I echo the other reviewers. Room said $129. Credit card was charged $178. $50 service fee? I am livid. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and I'm going to get my credit card company to dispute the charge. I called reservations.com to cancel and they told me I had purchased a non-refundable reservation. There was no warning at all it was non-refundable. There was no warning there would be a $50 service charge. Hard to believe they can purchase their position on Google, make it look like the legitimate hotel web site and then charge that much.
Reservations.com buys ad space to come in on Google searches. When you call their phone number they pretend to be the reservations department of an actual hotel. I fell for this and got overcharged around $40 and never got a confirmation or receipt. After calling several times I gave up on their direct line and contacted the hotel directly to see who exactly sent the reservation. Apparently this is part of Priceline or Agoda, but no matter who I spoke with no one could get me a copy of my invoice. I got several different numbers from different customer service reps, but every one of them said it was made through another affiliate, until the last one hung up on me after 8 minutes on hold. I am still trying to get an invoice to get reimbursed (at least partially) for this hotel stay. This company is awful.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
