They Did Nothing but Still Got Paid
March 24, 2023

Reservation Counter left me high and dry. I made a reservation for two rooms at a hotel, but when I got there, the hotel had not reservation for me. It was late at night, but luckily the hotel had rooms available, so I paid for the two rooms I was already supposed to have, assuming that Reservation Counter would reimburse me for what I paid them. Boy was I mistaken. Reservation Counter continues to hold my money. They asked me to send them receipts proving that I paid for the room. I sent them receipts, and approximately 3 week later they send me an e-mail saying, "a hotel receipt is not considered valid proof of a double charge by our providers." Are you kidding me? I usually don't go through third parties to get hotel rooms, but the meeting I was attending sent me their link. Never again!

Deceitful Company!
April 18, 2023

If I could give them a - star I would. I booked a hotel room through them and was shown a breakdown of the cost of the room, taxes and booking fees and then a TOTAL COST. Only after I gave them my credit card info and completed the transaction was I shown the info that the hotel would also be charging me an additional $50 deposit and a $30.10 resort fee. I called and complained and they said they understood but there was nothing they could do about it and that the booking was not cancellable and non refundable. Totally misleading and deceitful. My recommendation...don't do business with them.

Thanks for your review, Patricia. Sometimes hotels have resort fees or other additional fees. We only charge your credit card for the room, and the taxes and fees associated with that room. You may want to contact the hotel directly about additional fees as they collect those at check out. I have shared your experience with our customer service manager. They will contact you. If you’d like more help with your reservation, you may contact our escalations team at [email protected].

Thieves
March 29, 2023

I made a reservation 10 weeks in advance via this website but then was reminded by my wife that the reserved dates were in conflict with a different committment. Less than an hour later, I attempted to cancel the reservation. The Reservation Counter representative (a red-dot Indian) stated that they would charge me $178.04 to cancel. This is outright theft. DO NOT RESERVE ANYTHING WITH THESE CRIMINALS.

I recommend you avoid using ReservationCounter
1) They charged me and did not inform me
2) They lied to be about a cancellation policy
3) They admitted they lied but refused to honor what their employee told me.

We made a reservation in error online with reservation center.com and immediately cancelled within 4 minutes. We spoke to support they first told us no problem full refund, then 5 minutes later stated the policy was no refund no exception unless cancelled within an hour. I have emails showing cancel in 4 minutes and we are still fighting with support to ensure refund is issued. Always always book directly with hotels not through these services. Hotels allow 24-48 hours before booked stay.

Steer Clear
March 17, 2023

Beware of Reservationcounter.com, make sure when you are booking your room and reading the details you are getting what you are looking wanting. Depending on when you cancel due to their mistakes they will not give you a full refund. Stay away from this site, you are better off booking direct with hotels as they usually have better rates and don't have the extra fees.

Do not use reservation counter
March 15, 2023

Reservation counter uses copy of hotel information to make you think you are on the hotel's website when you are actually on theirs with their number listed.
They said we could pay to park at the hotel while we flew out but they were not correct causing planning issues for my family.
As well as they charged an additional $15 booking fee for their service.

Overcharged and Mislead
February 12, 2023

Somehow I got onto the Reservation Counter sight and booked reservations online - it appeared as thought they were the booking agent for the property. On the good side, they do answer the phone when you call but they really can't assist. I got the impression the hotel had limited availability so I jumped at the chance to reserve the 4 rooms I needed - only to learn later that Reservation Counter charged me about $150 over what the hotel was asking for! That is for each room! The hotel couldn't assist - Reservation Counter wouldn't let me cancel - plus it appears they charged me additional fees that the hotel wouldn't have. Be careful! VERY EXPENSIVE LESSON for a retired person trying to get their family together for a weekend away.

Thank you for your review, Ysabel. Reservation Counter is an independent travel booking agency. We make reservations at over 200,000 hotels worldwide. To provide our customers accurate pricing we request that hotels send us the most up-to-date pricing for their rooms at regular intervals. We also make an additional request at the time of check-out. Occasionally, due to the dynamic nature of hotel room rates, the lower rates may sell out quicker on occasion. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. Title: DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

Title: DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!
These people are basically Scammers! I made a reservation at the Houston Medical Hilton for 12/8/2022 and a second reservation for 12/9/2022 because my wife was having vein surgery and we were told she may have to spend the night at the hospital after the surgery. We arrived on the 8th, her surgery was at 7:30 am 12/9. We live 2 hours away from Houston so we went the night before. We were told if we didn't need the second night we would be refunded our money, $180.00 for the second night. All we've gotten is the runaround! We Were Told, our refund had been APPROVED AND IT WOULD TAKE 3-5 days for the refund to show up on my credit card. IT NEVER HAPPENED! I called them back and even though the Refund was already approved I was told they would have to investigate and it could take about 5-10 days before we would see our refund. AGAIN, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND! This is Ridiculous! THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO REFUND MY MONEY! I would not recommend these people to Anyone! WHAT THEY'VE ACTUALLY DONE IS STOLE MY MONEY AND TELL MULTIPLE LIES, sending me back and forth, telling me to call the hotel, then the hotel tells me to call the website I got the deal through. Please know these people are Not to be trusted! This is a SCAM!

Steal from customers
January 31, 2023

They book hotel rooms. They issued me a confirmation # and I had a date to cancel for full refund. When I tried to cancel they couldn't find THEIR conf # and kept saying try again later stalling the attempts. I contacted the hotel directly who said the conf # for the bookings get changed to a different number and the hotel gets paid on a prepaid debit card - not thru my credit card used to book. This blocks the hotel from crediting directly and stalling in finding a reservation. The hotel (Hilton a reputable chain) did authorize a refund and cancelled assuring that this company would have to refund. This company is denying they received authorization. The hotel can only debit the money back to this company who wont return it to me. The hotel said they also over charged by almost $100. Con artists.

So frustrating
January 19, 2023

We made a reservation in Atlantic City at Bally's. Both Reservation Counter and Bally's charged me taxes for the room. I tried getting it resolved. Both companies kept sending me back to each other instead of working it out amongst themselves. But I did what was asked and two months later have still not been reimbursed. Free parking was also advertised by Reservation Counter and that was false advertising. I never write bad reviews but I am because I've written several emails to customer service, attaching what was requested, and I'm not receiving any type response. Very frustrating and not a good way to run a company.

ReservationCounter.com also getaroom.com
January 4, 2023

I mistakenly booked thru this site, also known as getaroom.com which I was redirected to from the actual Hotel's web site. I realized I booked a night when the event I was to attend was actually taking place the next week. I contacted them at the 800 number and they would not simply change the date. NO REFUND was requested just a simple change of date. The reservation says non-refundable. I never asked for a refund just a simple change of date. Save yourself the loss of your money and ALWAYS contact the hotel directly to book, which was my intention. This redirect on a hotel's web site cost me $200.

Questionable Business Practices- Please be careful and do your research. They are supposedly providing you with the best selection and pricing for hotels. When you book through them they are adding a non-refundable fee of $14.99 plus a mysterious $40 fee for taxes and other charges. When you arrive at the hotel you will find that the room you booked is not as advertised. In our case the hotel was under construction and under staffed, the room was a smoking room when non-smoking was requested, room and bathroom was very dirty, bed covers had stains, power went off during the night and then the smoke alarms went off. The receipt from the hotel has your name but a different address and the credit card number is Reservation Counter's master card account. The hotel receipt also did not include the other fees added on by RC - so it is obvious that if you had booked directly with the hotel it would have been much cheaper. This is a real problem for business travelers needing proper receipts and record keeping. In our case the hotel manager agreed to refund our room cost but needed to credit the Reservation Counter MC account. We expected to see a credit from RC to our visa card. That never happened. Upon contacting RC we have been redirected to another third party for customer service resolution. We provided the documentation from the hotel indicating the refund back to RC's account. We then received correspondence from a different third party indicating that they needed more information. Be aware that there seem to be multiple layers of third parties and you may not receive your refunds. Finally after almost 4 weeks we received a refund ( minus the $14.99 service fee).

I made a reservation for a hotel which I thought I was making through the hotel's reservation desk. It ended up being a 3rd party company "Reservationcounter.com" I did not find this out until I sought out a refund.
I made the reservation for 2 rooms on 11/8/22 at 1:00 pm for a total of $702.12.
I literally cancelled the reservation on 11/8/22 at 1:03 pm (3 minutes later)
The below is the cancellation policy
CANCELLATION POLICY
Each room in this reservation is refundable for a limited time: Cancellations before 11/07/2022, 11:59 PM (America/Los Angeles) are fully refundable. Bookings cancelled after 11/07/2022, 11:59 PM (America/Los Angeles) are subject to a fee of 289.78 USD. Bookings cancelled after 12/03/2022, 11:59 PM (America/Los Angeles) are non-refundable. There is no refund for no-shows or early checkouts.

How in the world can I cancel my reservation on 11/7/22? BEFORE I even made the reservation?
I am now being charged 289.78 PER ROOM to the tune of $579.56 for a cancelation.

When I called all I got was they kept repeating the policy to me like I'm an idiot. I let them know I understood, and that their business practices with this policy was a complete rip off and they should be ashamed. How do you have a policy that states you can only cancel BEFORE you make the reservation!?
I asked to speak to a supervisor and she was no help at all, she repeated to me the same thing the first guy did. They were NOT WILLING to make it right.

I thought I was booking with Choice Hotels directly because the Reservation Counter site is made to look like a legit corporate site. No mention of massive fees when I booked, but more than $100 extra was added to my bill.

When I checked into my hotel, I found out that they don't actually pay the hotel and had to pay a second time in order to get a room. Reservation Counter does not pay the hotels, hoping you won't notice the double charge.

When you try to get a refund, each time you call the phone system gives you a different confusing message then disconnects. If you want and wait for an agent, you will eventually get disconnected. There is no one working there, so you can't get a refund.

Check out the FTC complaint that they lost, but are still operating as a scam company. https://www.govinfo.gov/app/details/USCOURTS-utd-2_17-cv-*******/USCOURTS-utd-2_17-cv-*******-0/context
