Scam for sure
July 19, 2023

Just came back from The"Inn at Lancaster" Tried to log in to my account to complain about my reservation we got nothing stated in conformation, but they deleted my email stating I don't have account to Reservation Counter even though I have my emails and text from 1 day ago. A first-class Joke think twice paid the price and got nothing promised. The hotel is terrible and I am sure they know it. They charge you extra fees than delete the account so even with the conformation number you have with the name and phone number of Reservation Counter it's no good they act like it's not them but crazy that they are the company that got the money out of my bank account. SO skip reservation Counter and definitely skip the Inn at Lancaster it is definitely not with Wyndham.

We where over charged $70, and lied too about military discounts, then their customer service told us, quote " You shouldn't have use a third party". I will never use this company again. #BECAREFUL

I’m sorry about your experience, Daphne. We want our customers to have the best experience possible when booking travel with us. Some hotel reservations have discounted rates. If a room has this special discount, then it will be shown in the room title. If the discount is not indicated, the provider no longer has that rate available, unfortunately. Sometimes, the hotel will honor military discounts, but that is the hotel's discretion. If you’d like more help with your reservation, please feel free contact our escalations team at [email protected] with your itinerary number and someone will contact you.

Price was nearly double hotel invoice!
July 12, 2023

Call Reservation Counter 2 ask? Before traveling no answer on the phone. Bill $150 over hotel bill! Attempted to resolve the matter with the merchant and they REFUSED to cooperate regarding the matter. So, I turned it over to the credit company to run interference regarding this matter. I am not going to end up paying double for a two-night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn - Alpharetta GA. Not going to happen! Don't ever consider using Reservation Counter horrible pricing and customer no service!

I’m sorry about your experience, Ken. We want our customers to have the best experience possible when booking travel with us. It appears the hotel supplied you a rate different from the one that they provided us. The contracted rate was agreed upon at the time of booking. Because your reservation was booked with us and not through the hotel directly, we are contractually bound to adhere to the rate agreed upon at booking. I have shared your experience with our customer service manager. We will do our best to help you. Rip Off- Don't Use
July 7, 2023

I put in a reservation for two double beds and the hotel couldn't accommodate me saying Reservation Counter didn't book it correctly for me. I had to find a new place to stay in the evening on Memorial weekend which was a nightmare and they still haven't refunded me.

Dishonest Practices
July 5, 2023

I googled Hilton Inn for a Denver trip, I erroneously selected Reservation Counter site that looked just like the Hilton webpage, or enough to lure in an unsuspecting guy. When I realized that this was a third party site, I immediately called in and cancelled the reservation with the understanding that I would lose the service charge. Nope, they are refusing to refund the entire fee. So basically, a $400 increase to their profit line as I'm fairly certain they keep the money and that it does not go to the hotel that they are "representing". The first lady I spoke to was not helpful at all, and the other "manager" was polite and firm, but indicated that the theft of my money is all but assured as non-refundable.

Stay clear of Reservation Counter! Even the hotel doesn't require more than a 7 day cancellation. This company is not operating in your favor. Be sure that you speak only to the hotel, these third party folks are just out to overcharge and then to make off with your cash in hand with zero assist.

Thank you for your review, Allan. I’m sorry for any confusion between us and the hotel where you are booking. Reservation Counter is an online travel agency. We are recognized by the biggest names in travel and book reservations at over 200,000 hotels worldwide. Our cancellation policies vary depending on the hotel. They set the terms and conditions for each reservation. Often, the bookings are nonrefundable to lock in a special rate. I will share your feedback with our customer service manager. I was misled so I agreed with their offering. Review of the reservation email confirmed it was bait and switch. I immediately attempted to cancel the reservation, after numerous calls over a four hour period, I finally reached a cancellation representative who advised a solution of purchasing more overpriced rooms from them. But don't take my word for it, go visit the Idaho Better Business Bureau website.

Booking Fee
June 29, 2023

We made reservations for the Oregon Gardens Resort and didn't realize we were using a booking service. I will never use it again. Our accommodations were good, but this is the first time (and last time) to be CHARGED a service fee ($17.99) for making our own on-line reservation. Beware who you make your reservations through!

Wil not return
June 18, 2023

I needed to book a reservation for a hotel in El Centro, CA. I wanted to book for Best Western Hotel. The price was right: $157.00 for one night, but then once I payed the price jumpred up to 220.00!. Taxes and fees were $47.00 and service fee was $12.00. On the Expedia website taxes are included and are only $17.00 and no service fees.
I immediately cancelled the reservation. I called the 800 number for follow up and was told the WHOLE PRICE was non refundable! "because I had accepted the cancellation notice". Well that is NOT visible! You hace to open it so you can read it! The supervisor was not helpfull either. This website is a ripoff!

Thanks for your review, Jaime. Taxes and fees are dictated by the hotel suppliers and are not itemized when we receive them. Unfortunately, taxes and fees are included with the rate and can be a higher cost when you check-out. Our cancellation policies vary depending on the hotel. They set the terms and conditions for each reservation. As an online travel agency, we are required to abide by the information our hotel suppliers provide to us. I'm sorry about the inconvenience. Never book with th
June 16, 2023

I wish, I had an option to select negative star. Complete rip off and extremely bad customer service. I booked with them and realized one date was incorrect and called them immediately and they kept on circling me with hotel and told me to call hotel and Hotel said it's their responsibility to fix the dates. After 10 days of me chasing them they said they will cancel the entire transaction and I will loose my 1221 dollars. I don't understand how can they not fix one small error in the booking and ready to take my entire money. Never book with them and save your by going to good companies who value customers. I spoke with supervisor Norma too and they are too rude and don't even want to understand customer problem.

After making a reservation with reservation.com the agent was told about a coupon that I had for this particular Hotel. Instead of telling me they don't honor coupons because they are a third party vendor they told me to show my coupon at the hotel in which when I finally got to my hotel I was told they could not honor the coupon from a third party person. After calling back reservation.com after the fact they said we don't take coupons. Why didn't they tell me that on my phone call.? I believe they just wanted to make a sale by not giving me accurate information. I will never use this company again!

I called the hotel's front desk and was told to go through Reservation Counter to make my reservation. I paid $1,676 for the reservation plus a 15.99 Service fee (not told about). The hotel gave us an invoice at checkout. It shows a credit of $1039. Over $600 difference what in the world? I have been on hold for hours - if you ask for a call back it calls you back immediately and says you are further down the line to be taken care of. This is a scam. Not sure if I will ever get through.

I'll start by saying that I travel a lot for work, and almost exclusively book directly with hotels. In this instance, I typed the exact hotel I was looking for into Google and clicked on the top link that was returned in my search. That is where the problems started... Reservation Counter designs their website to look like the actual hotel, and seemingly works with Google to show up at the top of a hotel search. I recently booked a room before discovering it was a 3rd party website (because of an additional $15.99 reservation fee). Upon realizing that the direct hotel booking was almost $90/night less expensive, I went to my email reservation and "cancelled" the room - which was incredibly easy. The website and email had mentioned that I had until the day before my stay to cancel... what wasn't as obvious is the $209.05 change/cancellation fee - essentially the same as the entire room cost. I found a 1-800 number and contacted Reservation Counter directly, hoping to either get my money back or have them reinstate the reservation (~$90 more is better than losing $209 and getting nothing). I was met with poor customer service that told me nothing could be done; the reservation was cancelled and the $209 "cancellation fee" would be reduced from my refund.

I am a senior and this was my first time booking on line. My internet kept on cutting out so I decided to call the number provided at the hotel site, first question I had was: is this Armstrong inn? Her answer was yes it is. The agent was not helpful at all. I told her the city and the dates and the hotel I wanted to book a room with. She said sorry they are booked out till august, but she can book me with a different hotel, what was 2 towns away where I needed to be, I said no ty, I said I was just in the middle of booking a room there when my internet gave out, she responded with oh wait I found the problem, for some strange reason it shows booked out on the Canadian site but not on the American, so let me book you a reservation right now, she gave me a total of 370 dollar for 3 night, I ask if this is Canadian, she said yes she just checked the exchange. That's when I ask her again if she is with Armstrong inn ( the hotel I wanted to book) she said yes plus some others, after I hang up with her I got the confirmation and to my horror it was 490 dollars,, 370 us not Canadian, so I was lied to. I called back right away cause I could not afford the trip as is but especially not for that price, a different agent took my cancellation. When I got that confirmation I saw they charged me a 22.90 cancellation fee… it said on the website free cancellation,. I finally found the real hotel number and there was rooms available and I booked directly with them. This experience left me sad and worried, I will be a little more at easy the moment I find that money back on my account, what he said will take up to 10 days,,,
Update, the company has been good resolving this, and reimbursed me the service fee. Ty

Would give a zero if I could. I thought I was booking on the hotel website and they hijacked my reservation and now they won't let me cancel. Hotel said they would refund me directly if I would cancel through reservation counter and they refuse to cancel so I will never get my money back. HUGE SCAM! Plus I asked to talk to supervisor and was told they don't have supervisors! This should be illegal.

Worst Service
May 24, 2023

Not only do they pose as the actual hotel site, but then they charge you extra fees and taxes. They also charge a $15.99 booking fee in addition which is non-refundable. I booked thinking I was on Hilton's site, only to receive the confirmation, call literally 15 minutes later, wait on hold for nearly an hour before someone had the time to talk with me, and be told there were absolutely no refunds. BEWARE. They masquerade as the actual property. Customer service is nonexistent.

Reservation counter makes it look as if you are booking through the actual hotel site. I cancelled my reservations within the hour of realizing the error and they charged me a 14.99 service fee, even though it states it is fully refundable. Once I saw I received the fee on my cc statement, I came to look at the reviews and realize I am not the only one that this happened to. I have already reached out to customer service regarding the service fee and still haven't heard back from the. You can book at all other sites and not get charged a service fee.

I tried to give this site a ZERO, but was not able to. We are a senior couple traveling to visit family. I am in a wheelchair. It is necessary for me to book handicapped accessible rooms. I need to be able to access the bathroom and have grab bars. I also need to be able to get around the bed.
We also like to swim, so access to the swimming pool is a necessity. There needs to be enough room to angle the wheelchair at the edge of the pool.
I contacted this site after being unable to book a handicapped room online. I explained to the reservation agent that I needed a room that was handicapped accessible on the 1st floor. Agent indicated that he had handicapped rooms available (and this was also explained on hotels website). However, reservation agent then indicated that I needed to pay for the hotel ($76.00) first. But after giving him credit card, he said he could not guarantee there would be a room available to fit my needs. He also charged me $15.99, in addition to the room price. I see no reason to be charged for this fee since he did NOTHING to guarantee a handicapped room.
After all of this he stated that I would need to PERSONALLY contact the hotel to discuss the room accessibility and availability.
I called Reservation Counter because I was unable to get in touch with the hotel directly - I have called 5 times, left messages, but still have not been able to reach the hotel directly.
As of 3 days later I now still have no guarantee that I have a handicapped room. My fear is that we get there and not have a room I can use. He also indicated when I was done on the phone that this was a non-refundable room reservation. After discussing my concerns with the agent he said he could do nothing to confirm a handicapped room or give me my money back. He kept saying the fee was non-refundable and there was nothing he could do.
I normally use Booking.com. However, I thought dealing personally with an agent would get me better results for accessibility than just putting in a request online.
This site is a mess, and I would never use them again.
