I contracted this company for residential garbage pickup in November of 2023. My garbage has been picked up once. They have so many excuses but are never able to pickup my garbage. I cancelled the service today, 2/21/2024 and guess what, my trash was not picked up again. I'm so disappointed being new to the state and dealing with a business like this. They need to be held accountable and learn how to treat their customers!

Have had RS for over 30 yrs. In the beginning you could put out trash in bags, bundles, and boxes. Would take it all, house trash, grass, leaves, branches. Then came the rolling trash barrel. Now allowed only four kitchen bags of trash and the price is $100 a month. Plus we now have added a fuel surcharge, even though fuels prices. No yard waste unless it fits in the barrel. It's a rip off. Trashcan is a wonderful guy, but the company, owned by none other than Bill Gates, is a money grubbing bunch of shisters.

My company signed a 3-year contract with Republic in 2017. We noticed over time the bill increased more and more and eventually with all the added fees; the bill ended up being three times more than originally. So, in Jan 2024, we decided to switch companies. I called to cancel service and they told me they would pass the message on to the sales rep. The sales rep called the next day to try to "help" me lower the bill. After she quoted a price that was still much higher than the competitor, I stated that I wanted to cancel the service. She then proceeded to get an attitude and threaten us with an "early termination fee." I asked how a fee could exist if we fulfilled our 3-year contract and she stated that the contracts continue and renews every year until you cancel it. I have never heard of such a shady practice from any business. So, it is an endless contract you are stuck in essentially,

I've been a customer of republic service for the last 6 months. Since Christmas week my trash and recycling have not been picked up. There are a total of 3 pick ups scheduled per week, two for trash, one for recycling. They have not made ONE single pickup in the last 3 weeks. Not one. My trash is inside the bins and not overflowing, and it's sat at the curb waiting that whole time. I've called probably 6 or 7 times. They keep saying they are investigating the issue and sending a truck to get my garbage. It has not happened and nothing is being done. My bill is up to date which I've confirmed several times when I've called. I even went as far as to write a sign on cardboard with paint saying that this is on their route with the company name. I am beyond fed up. It's been several weeks of me paying for a service I'm no longer receiving. I don't want anymore apologies from the company. I want them to hold their drivers responsible for it. I'm not new to the route. As stated I've been on it for 6 months so I'm seriously not understanding the issue here and working with the company is obviously getting me no results. At this point I will be looking to take my buisness elsewhere but it's absolutely ridiculous and not at all professional. It's actually quite ironic they're a trash and recycling company because they are quite literally a trash company. If I could give zero stars, I 100% would.

Poor customer service

Republic trash service is inferior in customer service. They refused to pick up my trash after we missed trash day. The woman on the phone would not schedule a pick and only offered where the local landfill is.

Trash service

If I could get another company to pick up trash I would. They quit picking up recycling then increased their price. I put my collection on a travel hold they keep forgetting what was done and then they charge me five dollars when I call to remind them I am on vacation hold.

Irresponsible
December 30, 2023

The truck driver did not pick up the garbage and I called early yesterday and they agreed to stop by during the afternoon and no one came. I called early today and they informed me that they canceled the order for my call yesterday because the driver reported that the garbage was not outside. I ask to speak to a supervisor because I have evidence from the cameras in my house where the garbage containers were outside the night before and they were scheduled to come today and no one came either.

My bill was 175$ and i never pay less than 300$, this month charge me 650$ said overload and i never had overload.
Called them to send me proof for that and no respond.
I'm about to cancel the service
Be carful for those people never deal with them

I had been with Republic Services for 11 years. I had signed a contract for 203.00 per month. I was reviewing autopays and saw I was being charged 500-600 a month. The CSR was a complete hag. I switched services to another company. They charged me 3200.00 to close the account. They didn't show up and overcharged many, many times. Do not use them. Fair warning.

If you choose to give this company your business be prepared to go down a one way street...only their way! Our company was with them for 11 years. Zero missed payments, zero late payments & zero returned checks. Prices go up constantly. You have to give them 60 days notice, in writing, in order to cancel their service. I emailed them the cancellation letter to the email address they provided. Never heard a word. Called. They transferred me to my rep. I've never met her, didn't have her phone number or her email address. She told me they did not receive the cancellation notice (that it was my fault that I sent the letter to the wrong address - even though they gave me the address) and they would not back date it. My original email never kicked back so I had no idea it was in lala land. My contract expired 11/1/23. They would not cancel my service due to the letter not going to my rep and informed me that I would have to stay with them until 11/30/23. When I received my bill for November 2023 it was $150 higher. When I asked why I was told that my contract was expired and I had a price increase. I hate it that I was loyal to them for so long. I've found another company for literally 1/2 the price. Republic Services is terrible. If they don't like what you are saying they'll just hang up on you. Shocking to me as a business owner. And reaching out to their manager is a joke. I truly hope that all the bad things they are doing to people come back to them 10 fold! I would prefer to give them a negative star rating but that's not an option. Really crappy people to deal with!

Dumpster DON'T DO IT
October 20, 2023

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Ordered a dumpster didn't arrive, no call, no text. Tried again with them on the phone through the whole process for 2 days later. Once again didn't arrive no attempt on their part to contact me and let me know. Ended up paying for guys standing around with no dumpster. Their rating should be in negative numbers (way below zero)

What is there to say, aside from horrible, HORRIBLE service. Lucky if the freaking driver shows up on the scheduled day. We've been promised a lock for our locking dumpster for nearly 9 months with no end in sight. Trying to call them is not that bad, but getting a call-back or any kind of forward momentum in resolving issues is basically hoping for a miracle.

I am shocked they got the bid for our city, which I guess is also on the city for taking low bids and not researching this grubby company previously, but sadly like my internet provider, I do not get to choose but god I would be better served to take it to the dump myself because these morons at this company should be ashamed to call what they do "work" because as a customer, it hardly seems like anyone there actually works.

Wish I could rate 0 stars, but not like this is going to change the already dumpster fire this company basically is. Today they randomly replaced my bin (without prompting) with a dingy and dinged up old bin AND STILL NO FREAKING LOCK. What the heck...

The Worst EVER
September 17, 2023

I have never in my life felt a need to write a bad review on trash pickup until now. Republic is the most unethical, untrustworthy, unreliable, and undeniably the worst trash company. The board of health and county are even involved now with the amount of trash that has piled up on our streets of Oak Park in Overland Park over the last three weeks. Today is 9/18, and they have not picked up trash on several streets, including mine, since August 29, almost three weeks. This includes a holiday weekend where trash is always more. Oak Park HOA is just as bad, as they are completely ineffective at managing the basics of trash pickup of their residents.

The price goes up each and every bill with a tiny disclaimer on each invoice that says "Please note that your next invoice may reflect a price increase". My bill has literally doubled since republic purchase the trash company from our previous trash provider. It is absolutely ridiculous that they raise the price each and every month with little to no explanation. When do the prices quit going up?

I had occasion to schedule a bulk pick-up. It was originally scheduled for a Friday. It stayed on the curb for three days. I called and the rep intentionally kept me on the phone repeatedly saying she was "pulling up my account" and I had to stay on the phone. This is not the first time I've experienced this kind of behavior. The practice of keeping people on the phone to frustrate and eventually give up, Repeatedly told "this is how I was trained." Given the amount of bad reviews, my assumption is Republic prides themselves with this policy. It is reprehensible.

The driver drove over my mom's meter box to deliver a dumpster next door and broke all the water pipes. The City came and fixed their side, while they were doing that the supervisor from Republic decided they would fix all of the damage, they of course will not work on the customers side of the meter. So, since it was still leaking the City turned the supply off and left. There was no note left, there was no attempt at all to contact my 80 yr old mother who is hospitalized, and no attempt to follow up and make sure the repairs were made. It took two days and multiple calls to figure out all that happened.

Republic has taken responsibility finally. Here is their solution. I pay 550$ to get it fixed and if they decide that the charges are not to unacceptable they will pay me back in a week or two.

Absolute trash. Hire at your own risk

It's a disgrace that the City of Chula Vista has contracted this company to provide trash collection services. I moved to Chula Vista 2 years ago and have spent more than 18 months fighting made up late fee charges they keep adding to my bills.
Additionally, the company failed to provide collection services for more than 3 weeks when their employees went on strike and they refuse to give a full credit to their for the services they didn't provide during that period. When I contacted the company to ask when they were going to apply the credit, their representative told me they would give me a $14 credit only because that is the maximum amount they are "contractually" required to give each Customer regardless of the lenght of service they failed to provide.

Republic Services Republic Services keeps taking my payment for the monthly regular service charge and failing to provide services that I paid for. Pick ups keep getting skipped. Drivers are falsely reporting that each pick up was completed. I reported all the missed pick ups online and on the phone. All times, Republic Services lied and said they put us on the schedule for a pick up to make up for each missed pick up. Republic services still have not refunded me as of today 9/2/23. On top of not refunding me, my bill due September 14th 2023 was increased by 28%. I called and requested my money back and requested my account to be closed on 9/1/2023. On this phone call I was told that EVEN THOUGH Republic Service NO LONGER SERVICES MY AREA, the account couldn't be officially closed until someone else from Republic Services called me in 48 hours (this makes no sense). Republic Services, it's not right to bill me and take my money for free, even though you no longer service my area. Please give me my money back and quit billing me, and close my account.
