Opened my first bill and was shocked by a hidden price for container delivery of $60 along with Admin fee and Environmental fee. Total bill $129 after deducting the $50 paid at the account setup. Complained about it and Republic told that the recording for account setup is not available and I had to wait if someone can find it. Took follow up after 1 week and they informed this time that the person who setup account is no more working with Republic Services and there is nothing they can do to waive the fees. I was billed $36 again for the month. Now I decided to cancel the services as it was not a fixed price service as committed to me while setup of the account. I called up to cancel service. I received a bill for another full month and also $30 for container pickup again. I put my cans out to be picked up when told, two weeks later they were still there. Called, was told "Friday". They were finally picked up. Then a month later, after I paid my final $36 for the partial month, I received final bill with the fee for "waste container removal". I was not warned about this fee, nor was I given the option for dropping off the container myself. That's after months of terrible service including the drivers breaking my cans by slamming them to the ground after tipping them and tearing gouges in my yard with their truck. This company gives no warning about rate increases or other charges that you incur. I would recommend customers to stay away as far away as possible.

BEWARE!

BEWARE! I broke boxes down and put them in my own plastic container for the recycle truck. The driver took my container too. The container was in new condition with all of the boxes stacked in it. They say that we are not allowed to use our own container so instead of letting me know, they took it and will not replace it. BEWARE!

Rip off

This company adds so many fees on top of the charge to collect your trash that by then time the bill comes you owe 2 times as much as what they tell you they charge. The add a fee for sending a bill, they add a fee for gas, a fee for recovery and when you get sick of their crap, they charge you a pick up fee plus all the fees.
Its like living in a socialist country where you are paying everyone else to do nothing.

Don't waste your money

They were so random that trash pick up was more like a lottery than a paid service. My wife and I had the "do you think Republic will pick up today" more than you would think possible. So we changed services along with most of the folks in our subdivision who used them. Then they were three weeks late picking up their bins and charged us for the privilege.

Stay away!

Absolutely despicable

We have used Republic Services for over 9 years. Every year the pricing goes up but we maintained until this year when they raised their prices 3 times in one year. We had a 4 yard dumpster and our pricing this year went from $170ish per month to over $250/mth! When I reached out to see about a rate reduction, I was given a price of $160/mth but I had to sign ANOTHER 3 year contract and rates would increase a minimum of 16% per year! I called around and found another dumpster service for $130/mth, 1 year contract and maximum 3% price increase per year. When I went to cancel services with Republic, they said I had to pay a 6 month buyout for early termination. BUT they want the buyout at the current rate and not the rate they were willing to reduce it to. I mentioned that I had been calling in for 6 months to see about a price reduction and they didn't care. I told them that if someone had called me back, I would have already saved me several hundred dollars. They don't care. I understand that in the contract it states the most recent bill however, if you were willing to reduce my monthly rate so drastically, you are already acknowledging that you have been charging an unusually high amount. I am willing to pay the 6 months, but I think to be fair to have the buyout at the lower rate was definitely a reasonable offer. Their total lack of willingness to work with us just reiterates what the mindset of their company is throughout. Enjoy that fee you are making me pay because you will never see another penny from our company or employees again. The $1,371.43 you are charging me has cost you any future business and I will make sure to tell everyone I ever hear about looking for dumpster service what an unreasonable business you uphold.

Worst trash company we've ever dealt with! They selected which bags they wanted out of my trash can and left the rest laying in my alley. I called multiple times to get my trash picked up, and each time, there's an excuse, or they just keep rescheduling. This is unacceptable. They refuse to pick up my missed trash.

****Beware*** Don't try complaining on social media - they blocked me! What an unprofessional way for Republic Services to handle business when THEY are at fault!

I moved out of a house and called to find out if I should pay the bill since it was due and I was moving a couple of weeks later. Of course they said pay it (and from personal experience they would have sent it to collections with NO NOTIFICATION if I didn't), so I did. I called to ask what I needed to do to get a refund and they said to send a final bill of another utility company to them via email, which I did. I called back one month later and was told that I would be contacted by someone about it and no one contacted me. So today, 3 months later, I call again and was told that there is no evidence that I called initially and where I sent the email was for owners, not for tenants so that was a lie. To say I never called was BS because I called to transfer the service from one address to the new one. Granted it's not a lot of money but these people just string you along and tell you BS. If I didn't have to have my trash picked up, I would quit these people in a second. They just have you by the balls!

Absolutely horrible horrible service and customer service! Would be a negative star review if I could. I called several times about the placement of my trash cans by their men. They placed my trash cans right in middle of my driveway where I was unable to get around them and I live on a relatively busy road with nowhere to go to get out and move the trash cans. I would be forced to stop in middle of my road, get out with the risk of getting hit, and move the cans as quickly as I could. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE ALSO EVERY RECEIVED! They don't care about their customers in the slightest.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Republic Services. I have used them for the last 5 years, and there have been missed pickups with no notification or explanation. My trash had not been picked up since the last two weeks of May. I gave them until June, thinking maybe there was a mix up. THERE WAS NOT. There were unanticipated delays for an indeterminate amount of time. I was not notified by phone, email, or a letter in the mail. I had to call. I have called over 10 times in the last month, and finally cancelled my service. My trash was FINALLY picked up the last week in June, and I was told that the barrels would be picked up that same day. It is July 5th and my barrels, despite multiple phone calls and same day confirmation promises from Republic services, MY BARRELS ARE STILL AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY. Those barrels have been sitting there since the last two weeks of May. If you want reliable, professional, and affordable refuse service, save yourself the trouble, and don't even call Republic Services. I went to Willimantic Waste, and they are almost $100.00 cheaper and have been wonderful!

They offer a good price, but they force you to sign a contract. If you decide to cancel the contract, they not only force you to pay, but also do not remove the container from your building. I had a three-year contract with them, but I decided to cancel it because I did not need it anymore. They did not accept the cancellation. They left the container full for several months and I had to pay extra to empty it. They left it in my building and refused to remove it until the contract ends. If you have a small business, don't hire Republic Services.
