Recycling scam
May 18, 2021

Saline county Arkansas. Contracted with company for trash and recycling collection. Recycling extra expense. Collection mostly fine until March 2020. Both were scheduled Wednesday collection with recycling alternating weeks for many years. Postcard received March 2020 stating waste collection changing to Thursday. So, both bins were placed by road for collection on Thursday. Upon retirement 12/31/2020. It was noticed recycling was not being collected regularly and would have to be reported as missed. One pickup. Noted by husband as collected by same truck for both trash and recycling. He called to complain and had to leave a return number but never received a return call. Friday week ago wife called to report missed recycling collection, were told would be scheduled for Monday. Called back Tuesday reporting no collection spoke with Supervisor corporate office who stated our collection was on Wednesday. Told them received postcard changing to Thursday. Supervisor stated that did not include recycling only trash. Card stated waste only. Did not realize that did not include recycling. Requested refund for year of recycling not recycled but was denied estimated $100 refund. I was told it was our responsibility to know recycling was only on Wednesday. No one ever contacted us that we were putting our bin out on the wrong day for over a year. Very sorry company to do business with. Cost of bins went up regularly though never replaced. Not customer oriented.

Republic Services continues to increase their bill, continues to simply add different charges to my bill and expects us to continue to pay them. We have called 5 times, being put on hold for 20+ minutes each time to hear they claim we are under a contract. We have ask for a copy of the signed contract and nothing happens. Today they came out to dump the can, I called again today, was 21 minutes on hold and told them if they do not come get the can today I am taking one of my forklifts and moving the can off my property out by the road. This is a horrible company to do business with. I strongly advise anyong to call another company because this comnpany.

Bulky pick up

I called them for a bulky pick up on April 9,2021. They still haven't showed up it's now May 2021. I called them constantly and they told me this week and then the day came for trash pick up and they never showed up. I finally talk to the supervisor and she told me it will be a for sure this week they will pick up the item this time. They never picked up my trash no I had to pay for someone to take my trash to the dump.

Dangerous Drivers

Beware when you see their trucks. One of them tried to intimidate be and squeeze me off the road and then acted like he was going to rear end me with the 60,000# truck. At the last minute he turned off and I was unable to follow it. I've called several time to report it it it has fallen on deaf ears.

They told me $7 for recycle $14 for trash. They sent me bills every month one after another prorated for 3 months with environmental fees and fuel fees totaling over $30 none of this information was disclosed during signing up they promised me the world and failed I understand it cost money to run a business but you can't lie to your customers and rip them off now I have to pay $64 to have them come pick up their cans that I was renting every month unbelievable I will spread the word to every person I know and every company that uses the service to cancel the service I will make it my personal point to put this out there you need to stop ripping people off.

I tried calling 3x to cancel my services and the customer rep said they will ask the account manager (Xaviar Bankhead at Western Way, Jacksonville FL) but he did not called back after the 4th day. He said he was on vacation! Ok so nobody can cancel their services when the account manager or rep is on vacation...!
Secondly I sent in the official letter to cancel. He received the letter but he said it needs to be CERTIFIED LETTER and the reason he said was that it needs be acknowledgement of them receiving the letter. He already received the letter in the first place and with many emails correspondence he still insist of certified letter!
They are trying to delay the cancellation date so that they can charged me for more pick up.
What a horrible company policies and very bad account rep! Never ever go to this company for your trash services. And oh they required 3 years of contract. They never mentioned that when you sign the contract!

I cancelled my sevices and they are changing $ 30 to pick up my trash container and $12 for gas and $5 for processing fees and then they want to charge me the same for my recycling. So they are making about $94 just to pick up my container.

My bill was raised soon after beginning service. Talked to 3 different people and the last person (in sales) was rude and unable to sufficiently explain why I could not keep my initial rate. She said she had worked there 7 years and could not help me because she had no other rate to offer. Even if this was true, her voice and attitude suggested she could not care less about keeping me as a customer. I will be changing to another company next quarter.

Disappointment
April 30, 2021

Republic publicly acts as if they care about recycling but in reality has soo many rules that its impossible to satisfy them. This appears to give them excuse to make these claims without even picking the recycle up or their customers just opting out because its impossible to meet all their recycle demands. These guys pick up at my work & my residence. At my work we just stopped putting everything except cardboard in because 1st the guy came up & wanted to complain about what was in the recycle at 4am while I was waiting outside and 2nd they came to my work in the day & started snooping around the back of the building & I happened to see them at which time they said that we were leaving unrinsed items in the bin. At my residence you cannot even read the requirements on the bin because they are printed into the plastic bin, same color & so small. They appear to have just stopped picking up our recycling all together here because its been about a month now & no one has seem them & the bins are still full. In my opinion from my experience they should stop pretending to be green unless they intend on making that an actual priority.

A dumpster was placed on my property without my permission. It has torn up my grass, caused my tree limbs to break (when serviced), amoung other property damages. I have been calling for over a month asking for the dumpster to be removed and it has yet to be done. My local Republic Services does not answer phones or return my calls including the supervisor. I have called the main numbers and each time they tell me it will be moved. It has yet to be moved off of my property. As damage to my property continues to happen. If unresolved soon I will have no choice, but to sue the company for failure to remove the dumpster and place it on the correct address of their client, the damages to my property and my attorney fees. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of action taken to correct this problem and that this dumpster has been dropped off, continually serviced, and left to remain and cause damage to my property.

Way, Way, Way overpriced!

Their prices are just ridiculous. They have been charging me $275 per quarter. I finally found an alternative (D&L Trash Removal) and they only charge $57 per quarter. This isn't an isolated incident. I used to have a bike shop and switched when I found out that Ray's Trash only charged half what they did. They are always increasing their prices and have a hefty Fuel / Environmental Recovery Fee. On my last bill it was $63 which is more than D&L's complete bill. On top of that they are going to charge me $30 just to pick up the can.

I see they have a rating of 1.03 stars. I can't imagine how they got the additional 0.03 starts.

I attempted to make a payment via their website on my due date. The website did not appear to be working right since after entering my info and submitting it just spun around. I tried it twice since that was my due date. Since I received NO confirmation number that my payment was made ok the next day I viewed my balance and it still showed I owed my monthly payment. I tried one more time and this time the website worked and I got a confirmation number. However I noticed 3 emails in my inbox thanking me for payment. I called customer service and they confirmed they had me down for 3 payments! And that there was nothing they could do about those 2 extra payments coming out of my bank!. Basically I have now paid my bill in triplicate and too bad it can't be fixed. They only can
offer credit towards the next billing cycle. This is entirely an issue with their website. Is it intentional? They should have been able to stop the extra 2 payment "attempts". Bottom line. Never use website for payment! If you try and are not successful your attempts are costing you money!

Extremely Rude

I called the company today to see why my bill increased the first lady I talked to explained it a little and said she would transfer me over to someone else to see if it was any available promotions in my area. When the lady answered the phone you can tell she just woke up and had an attitude. I asked her was there any promotions in my area available, She was like so you're trying to get your bill lowered? I was like yes, she was like well the company has to increase or they will not make money. I am guessing you had a really good deal at first. You probably spend more on Mcdonald and clothes in a week. I was completely shocked. For one I don't even eat Mcdonalds and the second I damn sure isn't at the stores buying clothes. The lady was so rude and I was be reaching out because I felt highly disrespected.

This company only cares about the stock holders, and investors. They do not care one bit about their employees. They think all their money comes from the stock holders, and investors. They have hard working employees, who get zero recognition for their hard work. They are forgotten, treated worse than the trash that gets picked up. The managers do nothing to fix problems, but will write you up and fire you in a instant, if you are not making numbers, so they can get their super fat ******* to ******* dollar a year bonuses. They treat all the drivers like uneducated, steering wheel holders. They give bad excuses for why pay raises are terrible. They will insult your intelligent to a level that is laughable, if you were not so mad. No matter how many new standards they give you, if you exceed those standards. Do not expect to see a EXCEEDS on your employee performace report. NO! You get the excuse of, you can only get a exceeds if your ready to move up. But it takes next to nothing, to get written up, and get a does not meet on your reivew. You could forget one tiny thing, and it will get any Merit raise taken away. Why SO CORPRATE OFFICE CAN THEN REPORT... a SAVINGS ON THEIR PROFIT REPORT... so MORE DING BATS WILL INVEST. Unless you are in dire need of work, or need some way to take care of your family, go do anything else but drive for this company.

Unreliable

Worst experience I have ever had with a service like this. They consistently miss trash pickups and tell you it will be picked up the next day and never come. The reps will tell you whatever they need to, to get you off the phone. They lie through their teeth. After months of this finally called to cancel, they wouldn't fully refund me and CHARGED a fee of $100 to pick up the bins. Honestly considering legal action against this pathetic organization. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST.

Wow right when I was thinking I was turning into a crabby old man I find all these horrible reviews! There are indeed ridiculously expensive. I can't go 6 weeks without them missing one of the three bins, garbage, yard waste or recycling. Weirdly when I ask my neighbors they seem fine with them. In my area I have no option but to use them. I am SO frustrated by them I almost feel like buying a small pickup and take everything to the dump.

Worst customer service EVER. I will just make this short. I called to pay my bill because they screwed it up and put me on quarterly payments, I like to pay yearly. All I wanted to do was PAY THEM LOL. For the entire year! After being on hold for 40min! The lady wanted to transfer me to someone else, so I did. The lady was so rude, and didn't understand I was just trying to pay for the year like I always have, she transferred me. Then I was disconnected. This was the 3rd time in 3 months I tried contacting them! From January to March.
I still never got a hold of them. They will not be getting a dime of my money. I already have a new trash service. Unreal.

I would give them zero if I could. Everything they said they would do they broke promises. They promised a time to switch the dumpster and they showed up early to move a half-full box (the driver said he could leave or take the half-full box, either way I have to pay). At the final removal day, again they showed up one day earlier (guys have not completed filling the box), the driver Arturo Hurtado promised to come back with an empty box as a "favor" as we only have half box left due to they took the half-full away the previous day. 4 hours later he came back jerk around what he said earlier didn't really matter! Finally I called to complain and was transferred to a "Customer Relationship Manager" Matthew... the worst experience. He literally argued with me and lectured me about their Corporate Rules. So these are all my fault (I should have called earlier, I should have done this and that...)? Enough frustration already when you have a home project, this company is a fraud!

Three weeks ago i paid my service up. Its been 3 weeks since they have picked their cans up. This company is a Joke! I do not suggest anyone use them when there's so many other options out there. We will be using someone else. Horrible customer service, lied to me and said on numerous occasions they would pick the trash up. I hope the BBB shuts them down. So if you like to have garbage piling up and horrible customer service republic is the company for you!

You will never know how much your bill is going to be because it changes constantly! They make sure to charge you with additional charges that you were never aware of. Even when we canceled we got a bill for services after we canceled. Trying to get it straightened out was ridiculous. Late charges were added, environmental fees and a $40.00 charge to pick up their container. I called to pay my final bill and was told the amount to pay by their representative, so I paid with my credit card and I verified with the representative that the bill would be paid in full. She said yes it was paid in full. However a month later, I get another bill with a threat of collection because my bill is seriously pas due/? I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see another bill come in the mail with some more made up charges.
