They have taken customer service out of the equation. The locations that do have a person working there, the employees don't speak even when you are speaking to them. The have made this prison size booths, where you have to stand and be uncomfortable, I had to kneel down with my medical boot on one foot and my leg devise on another to speak to someone through a video as if I am a prisoner. I went to pay my bill today only to find out that they have gone up $60 on each of my units without notice, that's $120 and I haven't been there a year.
Janet and Mo are the best and most best propert managers. They are the best at Public Storage and are very proficient and kind.
I called management and told them I would be out by weekend they said as long as I was out by the first would be okay! So I'm a first responder and they close gate at 9 pm which was a inconvenience! And I was totally moved out by the second which is Saturday and they said I still have to pay for the whole month for one day rental space!
I rented a storage unit and it was first month free and 70$ a month after. Well they charged me 30$ for the first month and 89$ the next month. I just found out next month it will be 92$. This is not the worst of it though. I did not know I needed to purchase another lock for my storage unit and my things were all stolen from my unit. Many of the items stolen were my daughters items and she passed away it was all I had left of her. I've tried to talk with the Manger or even a employee but nobody is inside even on and during work hours. I've maDe 2 appts to speak to the manager regarding this because they do have cameras however the Manger did not show up nor haS she returned any of my messages. I have never rented a storage unit before but I don't feel this is acceptable. If u rent from this company please be careful I lost items that there is no price for and the lack of compassion And human decency from the manager on 74th farnam is unbelievable. Please be aware if u use this storage facility I don't want others to have to go threw wat I experienced

Ever snice 2020 every other month they have been making unnecceary updates to their sites! STOP IT it isnt helping if anything your making it worse!
3yrs they have doubled our rate. We do not live in the state where we are storing so can not move to another place and they will not help with anything! They are taking advantage of everyone! What a scam they re making a lot of $ good for them but so sad for their customers.
We have used public storage for the last two or three months and I called him three weeks ago to ask what the move out policy was. At that time I was assured that things were prorated if I ended up staying a few days into the new month. I called in a few days to let them know we were Leaving and they told me at that time that I would have to pay for the full month. I had already booked my truck and had several things laid out that were nonrefundable. This all could've been avoided if I was given information correctly the first time. I called in to speak to someone who might be able to help me and they said that my issue would be expedited and someone will call me in 24 to 48 hours. I called three days later after receiving no call back and they told me the individual who could help me had already left on vacation and would not be back for another week. At that point the new month would've already started and I would've been charged. So unhelpful and disorganized. I do not recommend.
I understand soupy and demand. Paying more the car insurance for a rental is asking alot. However, to raise my rental space and then use it for "Public Storage's" junk is unacceptable. I will not use this company again! I literally had to ask people to move there things to get my trailer.
I have been with public storage for almost 4 years and since that they have gone up on my storage space at least three times. When I called and ask them about it they always says we can increase at anytime with any notification that it will be an increase to your space. I think that's very unprofessional in my opinion. And at they end they are quick to auction off your space when you can't afford the increase that you didn't even know about.

We rent a 10 x 15 storage space and so far we have had 3 rent increases in less than 2 years (Who does that?) Will probably look elsewhere if needed.
I rented a storage unit from Public Storage. They advertise $1 for the first month. However, the REAL amount was closer to $50; $20 of which was for a cylinder lock. The very nice person with whom I spoke told me I could use my own lock. NOT TRUE. His words were written off to "he was a sub for the manager who was ill".
There are many hidden fees.
Public Storage does not pro-rate for time not needed/used as most other storage facilities do.

Steve at Skokie McCormick is one of the best managers I've ever met in my years of storing in your facility. Not only is he great, but he reminds me of my busy schedule that when my payment is due once again, he's a diamond in the rough keep him as long as you can.
You would think if you were going to build a storage facility you would make elevators to accommodate large furniture. Also you would think the facility would have a/c considering people are are hot and sweaty trying to move. Also for a facility that's sole purpose is to move a bunch of stuff up and down elevators to only have 2 carts is ridiculous. My particular facility REAKS OF WEED every single time we go there - so when I move my stuff out and it reaks if weed we are gonna have a problem. I'm so sick and tired paying good money for stuff and not getting what you pay for. My recommendation DONT USE PUBLIC STORAGE.
I have been in storage for 46 days moved in on 6/22 /23 paid full month rent paid full price again on 1st now this month 80 dollar increase no notice just saw charges on my card place isn't clean people aren't friendly and you increased rent 27 percent at a time
Excellent service! The Service Clerk/Manager answered all of my questions! Ms Shana was very customer service friendly. She was experienced in ensuring that I received the best possible customer service care. If you have a training program, I would recommend you include her in part of the customer service part. Ms Shana has that authentic people to people relationship touch! She is a great Ambassador for your organization.
And is very helpful. I love to go there when he's working.He has a wonderful spirit and it shows. Sam don't know his full name,but he is a great asset to Public Storage.
