I ran into a bug with the app that caused two separate orders to be placed simultaneously. I reached out to their support team for help, and instead of troubleshooting or offering to refund the extraneous amount, the customer support member simply told me to be more careful next time, like I fat-fingered placing two entirely separate orders. I've used this service a bunch up until now, and have had many co-workers and friends use the service by my recommendation. I like the idea of supporting a smaller company over Amazon Prime, but they've absolutely lost me as a customer (and it sounds like they're pretty desperate for those in my area, if the constant barrage of FREE DELIVERY/20% OFF/PLEASE USE OUR SERVICE emails are any indication.)

Satisfied customer

So far I've use postmate yesterday twice because I was hungover and didn't feel like leaving house. I was satisfied. Then today I used it again after I took a nap woke up at 9pm. I like the fact that I don't have to drive/gas to get food. I got $100 promo delivery credits to try them out and it's worth it. So far no issue with them and will continue to use them

I work a lot and do not cook. I will pay for delivery food and have depended on postmates for about 8 months... however the past week I have been delivered 3 meals at a premium price (that were inedible and have had 2 ordered cancelled after the had been accepted). I have been a loyal customer and have paid hundreds for premium delivery cost ($13 delivery fee for some orders). I am done. They are not dependable and have ZERO customer loyalty. They last time I complained about inedible food they responded and thanked me for my feedback. Not getting the service I have paid for nightly for the past 8 months. DONE with Postmates. $13 is double and triple other delivery services. If they charge that much it should show in product and service. Shame on you postmates.

Disappointed

The customer service hasn't been an issue. My issue was an ordered I placed today. They got my subway order wrong. I ordered 1 foot long and 4 kids combos. They delivered 2 footlongs 1 of which was cut into 4 equal pieces. I got no sides or drinks for my kids and was still charged full price. I paid $36 for 2 footlong subs. I contacted customer support and they refunded me $4.19 for the inconvenience.

Unhappy customer

This company is a joke! I singed up after one delivery I noticed that's is a fee on $10 a month. I tried to unsubscribe, and they don't have a working number. I contacted them thru email explined to the responder that I couldn't unsubscribe she said it would be taken care of. And they are still charging my account. The only way to stop the charges is to cancel your bank card. Which is a pain because I do have honest companies pulling bill money. Save yourself the hassle and money and go at your own food!

I place order and five minutes later receive a text indicating one of my items in not available -- no problem. I then send a text back (and subsequently, five emails) asking which item is not available. Finally get an answer, adjust order and continue on. After twenty minutes get an email saying the restaurant not currently taking orders -- and mine has been cancelled. Wasted 25 minutes of my time. Why have the restaurant on your web site if not currently taking orders? Why have a "support" option if not going to respond? The one email i did receive back from customer support was auto-generated and did not address my issues.

Unable to get to the market due to an injury I decided to try Postmates for a few groceries. They don't offer a grocery list of items to choose from so you must type in your items one by one - not a problem since my order was small and nothing out of the ordinary.

I placed two orders with Postmates, each on different days.

ORDER #1, was incorrect. My mistake for not being clear about the item (bag or canned) so no problem here but would have been nice if I was asked - text messaging IS an option available to the postmate/delivery person.

ORDER #2, incorrect again. Surprised since my list was short (about 6 items) and I was very careful, it was spelled out correctly AND it was a simple item - nothing unusual! I was also surprised the postmate/delivery person didn't communicate through text for clarification if there was an issue with an item in order - yes, the postmate/delivery person as the option to send a text to the customer.

Postmates service is flawed and reaching out to their customer service department? Surprising disconcerting!

I completely understand your frustration with receiving an incorrect item, but unfortunately we are not able to guarantee that delivery requests from grocers will be correct. Items entered in the custom or special instructions field are subject to be fulfilled at the discretion of the merchant or the Postmate... we cannot guarantee that any items in an entirely custom field will be filled correctly. In this circumstance, items purchased by the Postmate are filled at the discretion of the Postmate, and should generally be considered "as-is."

Terrible! A simple text or call by postmate/delivery person should be required if items is questionable. Plain and simple.

Worst possible service and I was totally ripped off!
I order from Postmates and my order was partially delivered, I was missing more than half of my food. When I notified postmates it toke them over 4 hours to respond, with a sorry and they offered me refund of $9.00 for delivery charge, I was missing $40 of my order and they offered me $9.00
This company is a joke. I am dumping them for grub-hub or I will order directly and get real old fashion service.

Just wanted to say I am not impressed! First time user and I was trying to order food for sick son... Found late night place, ordered food. Let him know it would be delivered so he didn't have to leave his apt... 20 minutes later I receive an order cancellation! You should not allow your merchants to cancel after an order is received! Really poor service... Now still hungry sick person who could have already gone out has to wait even longer?. Either turn off ordering ahead of time or agree to take orders! Don't cancel after the customer thinks he has an order coming... really reflects bad on you. Make strict agreements with merchants to follow and don't allow them to be on your website if agreement is not honored! Very very disappointed in my first attempt Postmates needs to get their act together! Poor!

Misleading

There is supposed to be this promotion going on right now where if you order one time, you get two free deliveries the following day. If you order twice you get four free deliveries the following day. I was so excited about this because I'm trying to transition into veganism and there are several all vegan deli's that I've been wanting to try but they are so far from my job and the delivery price is high ($25). Well today I expected 4 free deliveries because I ordered twice yesterday and I received an email directly after that said I earned free deliveries. I decided to start this morning off with starbucks. Number one, I was still charged for the delivery. Also, my order totaled 16 dollars but I was charged 20. Third, the postmates delivery person called me and said that the prices are actually higher than what it says on the website so I asked them to cancel my order. I did receive a full refund but honestly Postmates is a bit too complicated for my taste. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have money to waste.

I just used postmates for the first time and was overcharged. However, I placed my order and (1) item had to be replaced so I was told that a credit of $5 would be issued. Was it? Nope because of the prices on their website are outdated and the restaurant has since updated their prices (to be higher) and although I was due a price adjustment of $5- I won't be getting it because I'm being charged the non-advertised higher price for my food after the fact. I won't be recommending or using postmates ever again.

I added a new credit card to my Postmates account. A screen popped up saying it had been successfully submitted. So I went ahead and placed my order. Later, I get a receipt in my email showing that they had charged my old credit card. When I contacted customer service to fix this, they looked it up and told me that my new card had never registered on the site! This, even though a screen informed me that it had been successfully submitted! An obvious technical glitch on their part, yet customer service refused to admit to their mistake, as well as making no effort to fix the situation. Very poorly set up system and runs essentially like a mom and pop store. PLEASE refrain from using this service! They also grossly overcharge you in the name of processing fees.

They'll Steal from You

Placed a Postmates order and it notified me it was deliveried but it never was- tried contacting postmates, but there's no number- so emailed them. We live in a 24/7 doorman building and they verified no one had tried to make the delivery. Called the restaurant and they said it was picked up. Finally postmates emails back and says the courrier tried calling and no one was home, so they're charging the full amount and we won't get the delivery. Finally, the guy arrives and says he was confused- not that he had tried and we weren't home - turns out postmates just made it up and/or never looked into it and was happy to just charge us and not deliver what we paid for. Who would ever trust a company like that?

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

Multiple times using postmates, my order was delivered with things missing. Instead of working to bring the correct order, I was issued the bare minimum fee of what was missing, with no delivery fee included. I would have been happy with a credit for a delivery fee for the next time, but that was never offered and when I asked for it (seeing as I paid $9.00 to get my ENTIRE order) I was told that request was not warranted. This company is a joke and I will certainly never be using it again.

Terrible Service

I have tried Postmates many times, and today has been the 3rd major issue I have had with their service. Between being overcharged, items missing, and just a general lack of quality customer service leaves me leaving them a 1 star review. UberEats is far superior with their service, and their delivery fee is much cheaper. Once their restaurant list expands, I expect them to completely put Postmates out of business, if this is how they regularly treat their customers. Needless to say, I will not be using Postmates ever again. They just lost a frequent customer, as their customer service professionals cannot solve a simple mistake that they made.

We've used postdates for almost 6 months now and I'm done with it. The first few times we used it they were new and offered free delivery but it took many attempts for a driver to accept the orders. We assumed this was because the service was new to the area and people didn't want to do free deliveries. Now the service is established and it's gotten even worse. We've had several orders that were never accepted, several that were late and several that were canceled for no reason. The most recent one was horrible. The order was already 30 minutes late for delivery but hadn't even been picked up yet. If we cancel at that point they charge us for the food and a service fee so we can't cancel it. We contacted customer service (they don't have a phone number) and waited 20 minutes for an email response. They offer us $3 off of the order. It's already 50 minutes late and the food will definitely be cold and soggy. I told them that it's not an acceptable offer and he said that he would get another driver to get it but then we got a text saying it was canceled. So our food was 1 hour and 15 minutes late when they canceled it. We're done with this service. They have high fees for convenience which is fine if it were convenient. From out experience it's more of a hassle than just driving to get our own food.

We have been using Postmates for several months and appreciate the convenient service. HOWEVER -

If you use Postmates delivery service I am urging you to check your delivery history and charges. Last night we discovered that our credit card was charged $83.25 for an order that actually added up to $44.02. I checked our delivery history and charges and so far have found 11 deliveries where we were overcharged. I still have more deliveries to check and am confident I will find more overcharges. I have contacted Postmates about this and some of the overcharges will be refunded. However, one customer service rep tried to tell me that $5.00+$11.00+$10.00 = $39.36 and that I just don't understand how their charges work. REALLY! $5.00+$11.00+$10.00 was the charge for the food only and in real life it adds up to $26.00.

Be vigilant about your charges is you use this service. We are going to find another way to have food delivered.

BE CAUTIOUS USING POSTMATES THEY DON'T VERIFY YOUR ORDER FOR YOUR DRINKS. THIS SCHICK PICKED UP OUR ORDER MARKED IT DELIEVERED AND TOOK IT FOR HERSELF. I GOT HER NAME AND PHOTO. I CALL THE RESTURANT AND THEY CONFIRMED PICK UP. POSTMATES TALKING ABOUT HERE'S A REFUND ITS GOING TO TAKE 5-10 DAYS AND A $7 CREDIT. UGH NO I GAVE YALL 7 CHANCES AND YALL F'D UP ALL BUT 1.

I tried using this company for a delivery to my job and they made use wait over 30 minutes before letting us know that unfortunately the merchant couldn't deliver the food. I called the merchant and they said they never got the order. So I used a different company and the price was different and cheaper. The Postmates were trying to charge service fee so like a different type of tax. They said you can get a free delivery your first time and really they find loops. I called the Postmates company and to complaint but all they did was let me know that they can give me a free delivery charges next order I make.

I will not make that same mistake again.

Awful customer service

The app charged to incorrect card for the purchase, and when I reached out to the company they were less than willing to work with me on this issue, which was infact, their issue.

I have deleted the app from my phone and will be a strong advocate against using this company.

Their suggested times were highly inaccurate, they did not charge the correct card, and their customer service is some of the worst.
