Thought I would try it when I saw the free burrito promotion for Cinco De Mayo. Well you get a 20.00 credit. I ordered my food it came to 10.40 cents. The delivery was 8.00 plus a small service fee. Total out the door under 20.00 balance shows 0.00 food shows up, and somehow my meal went from 10 something to 20 something. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME> sent email to support. No response. Nothing. NEVER USE THEM, total scam

Wow!
I know you can upgrade the app to get free delivery, but I thought as a first time user, delivery was $3.99. I only ordered Arby's and it was $13 to deliver! It doesn't tell you that before completing your order. It should. On top of that my order was missing the entire second meal all together, so I gave my son my meal and made a sandwich! All customer service did was not charge me for the 2nd meal. Thanks a lot, like that does much.
Crappy app, crappy prices and crappy customer service!

False advertsing
May 4, 2017

"Postmates delivers the best of your city to your door" This is not true. Postmates policies do not require the delivery person to bring your order to the door of your house or apartment. If the delivery person does not feel like getting out of their vehicle, you will be required to go outside and meet them at the curb in front of your house or building in order to receive your order. If you believe that a delivery includes bringing the product to your door, you should check out Door Dash instead

The worse company
April 30, 2017

First of all this company is a rip off, they overcharge me on few occasions, and the food never gets on time. And when you try to reach them over the phone there is not a number to call them. The prices on their menu are not updated, you will end up paying more.

Cancelled an order within minutes and they refused a refund. Actually charged me 3 times for an order never received. 58 dollars for nothing. Try grub hub.

From time to time I receive promotions from Postmates for delivery credits. Very early this morning, I logged in and a pop up detailed $50 in delivery credits. Great, since dad had a toothache and we needed to order anbesol at 1am. The pop up on the postmates app read, that there is nothing to do, no code to enter and the credit would be automatically applied. Guess what? It was not. Applied This would not be terrible, except for the FACT that this is very common from postmates. My sister - who also a vendor - and my nephew all describe similar issues. This is rude and illegal to make an offer and not comply. The email I received from postmates asked me which promo code I was using - there was no code according to the pop up I received. I am regularly feeling SCAMMED by postmates.

2. My second issue is the 1.11 cent credit given for a wrong drink or bad drink from Starbucks. This has happened twice in as many weeks. $6 undrinkable drink and you give me $1.11 and no additional response to my email. Unfair and sounds like a scam.

The idea is a good one. The customer service is horrible.

I went on the app to order my daughter a hamburger and fries. I was told I had a $10 credit for a promo. When I completed the order it never showed me the total or let me review my order, nor did it place my $10 credit on the order. I ended up paying $40 for a hamburger and fries. I have tried to get a hold of someone at postmates, but there is no customer service phone number. The emails have done NOTHING. I will never use this service again.

Deceitful
April 22, 2017

The $100 credit they have been offering is a scam. They send a message about $100 to use for delivery is not for credit on the meals, it's for delivery FEES. And they send it saying it's only valid for a short time to get you to order a several things at once or several meals to be delivered over a few days. There's no way to see the credit in your Postmates account either. Awful. Stay away.

Late night shift at a hospital- ordered locally and it was smooth, app worked perfectly and came here faster than the stated time! Not sure why so many have had issues, I hope they keep up the good work!

Lies.
April 20, 2017

I ordered my food at 11:54 and it said food would arrive at around 12:28. I was satisfied with this time since I have a specific time frame for me to eat and that's the only time that I am able to eat my food. So when I came back to my laptop to see that my food was going to arrive at 1:16, you can see why I was a bit annoyed. I don't understand why they gave me this horrible estimate when it was nowhere near the time my food is actually going to arrive. Not only this, but the time keeps going up a minute every few seconds. I would not recommend this ordering app to anyone and would advise you to use some wort of service that actually lets you call the person getting your food for you. I'm never ordering from postmates again and I hope you learn from my experience as well.

They suck
April 19, 2017

They pretend to be Uber, but 8 out of every 10 times I order in San Francisco, I get a "We are sorry, all our couriers are busy." This is on a Tuesday night at 9 pm! Give me a break. Happens all the time. They suck. Also, they won't let you review them without a full name or on your phone. They suck.

Misleading
April 13, 2017

Before they returned my upfront deposit as soon as my order arrived but this time my phone froze up "before" the order was accepted so I had no choice but to cancel not knowing it actually was already accepted. They gave me my money back for the actual food on the spot but tried to keep my deposit. Ignored my emails demanding to know what was going on. Not feeling too great about them. Second time around: charged me a 52 dollar deposit on an 18 dollar bottle of wine and then when they finalized the transaction by actually charging the 18, they gave back the 52 for like two seconds then took it again. Thieves. Disputed with my bank.

I'm really starting to dislike this company. WHY are you guys outsourcing?! My girlfriend and I just placed an order, and they came back that the item wasn't available. I called the restaurant, and they said they had plenty and the Postmates caller was hard to understand. He wasn't even reading the order correctly?! A native English speaker would never have an issue. WHAT'S WORSE is that idiot Postmates rep made it so when we tried to modify/add a new order that item he claimed wasn't available wasn't even able to be selected. When choosing the item it has a popup box stating the item is not available. I talked to the restaurant and they laughed, making fun of Postmates and the TERRIBLE service and the fact they had PLENTY of the item the moron marked as not available. They're even thinking of not working with Postmates any longer since they can't even understand the accents.
If you want to keep your reputation stick with US citizens ONLY for taking orders and making calls.
The restaurant person even told the caller to call us since his order didn't make sense. Instead, your caller was lazy, didn't call us and just marked our food as unavailable.
So insanely ridiculous. We NEVER have this issue with Uber eats.

There were multiple things wrong with the order:

1) The delivery person calls me up and says the order is cancelled whereas the wesbite shows me it's "In Progress".
2) I get a message on my cell saying that it's about to delivered only to know that the delivery guys has the incorrect address. My address on the order and under my profile has correct and complete address with the correct pin code.
3) The website suddenly starts showing that order has been delivered. I don't know where and how it got delivered because I certainly didn't get it.
4) Now when I am calling the delivery guy it says the number is not a working number. Probably he blocked my number.

Now after waiting for more than an hour, here I am with no food whatsoever and money deducted from my account. This was my first time ordering with postmates and it was an awful experience.

I seriously wish I had seen this site before placing an order with them. I can see similar reviews from almost everyone. Looks like this company operates like that and make money out of people.

I promised repeatedly that a refund would be forthcoming, but to date I have not received it. Learn from my mistake and NEVER, EVER use this delivery service they are liers & thieves.

Actual emails:

Thanks for contacting us regarding a pending transaction in the amount of $45.79.

If you have recently placed an order with Postmates, you may see a pending amount on your payment card for your estimated order total before you receive your order. This is not a charge. This amount will remain as pending for up to 7 days, but you will never actually be charged. You will only be charged for the final order total.

My delivery driver didn't come to my exact address she parked somewhere down the street. She was unwilling to actually bring the food up to my place. But when I went down to meet her I couldn't find her. I walked down a ways but still didn't see her. Long story short I didn't get any food but still got stuck with the bill because my delivery driver didn't actually deliver the food. When I explained what happened they weren't interested in rectifying the situation. No more postmates for me!

I tried Postmates for the first time a few days ago and it was a total nightmare. First, I had to struggle to find the restaurant. Then when I tried to place the order, there was this ridiculous process of creating an account, involving a progress icon that never stopped, and then a series of emails saying there was unusual activity on my account so it had been temporarily suspended. I persisted in trying to register and suddenly there was a message saying my order had been completed and I should expect my food within 55 minutes. Well, 55 minutes passed and no delivery, and none ever. So I submitted a complaint (after a lengthy search to find where), and then ensued another round of emails in which they ignored the software problems I had described and just said my credit card pending authorization would disappear in a few days, as if this was the main problem. The Postmates software is hopeless, and their support is no better.

You people who are on here crying about postmates are ridiculous. Postmates drivers are paid less than hourly minimum wage and you're complaing about your delivery fee being too high?! How about you leave the house and go do your own food shopping! The nerve of some of you. You give postmates your huge list of groceries then 95% of the time you don't even tip your delivery person. Cheap! Lazy! Some of these orders take over an hour, upwards of two hours to complete and you complain about the $6-$9 delivery charge, then don't tip. If you expect someone else to do your weekly food shopping you better be prepared to pay that person a decent wage. Ffs!
