Passport-USA Reviews Summary

The company has garnered significant negative feedback, primarily due to its misleading portrayal as an official government site for passport applications. Customers frequently express frustration over being charged for services that are available for free, leading to feelings of deception and financial loss. While some users report positive experiences with customer service, particularly in securing refunds, these instances are overshadowed by widespread concerns regarding transparency and the handling of personal information. Overall, the sentiment reflects a strong warning against using the service, emphasizing the need for clearer communication and ethical practices.

July 26, 2019

What a scam. Charged me 64 dollars to use their application then got a letter from the US passport center that I owe them 140.00. Can't believe these people get away with this.

Minus 1 star
June 21, 2019

Like the rest, I was fooled and didn't take notice of the. Org on the address. passportusa.org charged me $38 just for the application then I received a notice that I need to pay $110 more to process the renewal. That was when I got suspicious so I started to read the experiences of others. I now need to work to get my original passport back and try to reverse the $38 fee I paid. So disappointed in myself and these internet pirates.

Dont do this!
June 7, 2019

There's is absolutely nothing "easy" about this service. It's $99 for them to type your form up for you and have the post office pick it up from your house. I've had to email them countless times for errors in the form, inaccurate postal service pick up times, inquiries about whether the mailed package has a tracking number, and why I wasn't given information all upfront about the process. They take the $ quickly out of your account and a refund is near impossible. The form itself does look legit when I compared it to one off of the passport site but it's not been worth the money to go around and around with these people. Quite honestly I'm more worried now about identity theft because this company IS NOT in the USA. I didn't realize that initially. Save time and $ and just fill the form out yourself.

They Got Me
April 15, 2019

I was fooled by the. ORG when I should've known I should be on a. GOV url. This site is a scam charging for documents that you can access for free on the legit site. Thankfully Chase immediately cancelled the charge but unfortunately my CC had to be cancelled and I have to have new ones issued. Lesson learned but I feel like a schmuck!

Wire Fraud is illegal
April 10, 2019

Wire fraud is similar to regular fraud, except that it takes place over phone lines or involves electronic communications. The legal definition of wire fraud has four elements:
The defendant created or participated in a scheme to defraud another out of money or property. Federal wire fraud is a federal offense and is typically investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but state laws and charges can also apply.
Everyone should contact their States - Attorney General Office -

There is a QR code on the application that is spam for a messaging app and made the application unacceptable. I have been through hell to day because of this. Passport application printing is completely free of charge on the CORRECT gov site. This site mimics but is NOT the gov site. Called for a refund

Rip off!
April 2, 2019

Do not fall for this! All you need to do is go to the. Gov website for passports and it's the same thing at no charge to you until you actually apply for the passport! They will charge you $38.00 for a "subscription" that from what I can tell, only allows you the ability to print and fill out the ds-11 form on their site and they provide a link to the. Gov site to check the status of your application. You can do all of this without paying them $38.00! I called them immediately and got a full refund thank goodness. Pleases just go to the.gov website for filling for a passport.

SCAM
March 5, 2019

Total Scam! My daughter fell for this. We just called them at the number on her email confirmation and they are refunding her $38 and canceling her subscription. Didn't even realize it was a "subscription". They sent the cancellation email and said all data would be deleted from their DataBase. I asked the guy how they could get away w/ this scam. He said they are a "document preparation service" there to help first time users getting a passport. I wanted to reach through the phone and throat punch this idiot. I hate places like this.

SCAM
February 22, 2019

Passport applications are FREE, but unfortunately for me, I found out at the post office they scammed me $38. What they are doing is not illegal, but they clearly take advantage of people who dont know much about the process or first-timers. If its the first thing you see on google, its obviously advertised. BEWARE!

Once you type something in, its there forever. They will not allow you to edit it once you go to the next page. It won't let you look at your report to erase your information. They say you can delete it, but I doubt that happens because you should be able to go back and edit... no way will it let you edit. They are afraid you will erase the info. I did not pay for anything because i knew it was a scam as soon as I saw you had to pay for the application... it was then that i realized I was not at the post office website that I typed in to google... and then I had given all my personal information that they would not allow to be erased! GRRRRR.

Filled out the forms with lots of personal information including my SSN and paid the $38.00 processing fee. When I took the forms to the Post Office I was told this website is a scam. I called my bank and asked them to block the charge on my CC, then I called the phone number on the email I received from the crooks. I was told they would refund my money and delete my account. They claim they do have access to anything I filled out on the forms (I don't believe them). When you do a passport form search on Google this is the this is the first thing that comes up, and it appears to be a official Government web site. I believe they must be paying Google to list there site first ahead of the real Government site. Google needs to block this fraudulent site!

You are not told there is a fee until you submit info. You legitimately think you are filling in the Dept. of State form. This is a criminal act at best. Shame on them for scamming, shame on me for not realizing it soon enough.
