The company has garnered a predominantly negative reputation among customers, primarily due to significant issues with order accuracy and return processes. Many reviews highlight frustrations over receiving incorrect parts and the subsequent difficulty in obtaining refunds, with customers often bearing return shipping costs for errors not of their making. Additionally, the customer service experience is frequently described as inadequate, characterized by long wait times and unhelpful responses. While some customers noted prompt delivery of the correct items, the overall sentiment reflects a lack of reliability and support, leading to a strong recommendation to seek alternative suppliers.

Long shipping, Scammers and crooks... not once do they say you gotta pay shipping to send back core to get refund,,,,, do not shop here they are a bunch of thieves,, and use slow $#*! Fedex
I used the website to order a radiator and when I received the radiator it was the wrong one. I was told I had to pay for shipping and that I should have paid attention to what I was ordering. So I boxed the radiator back up and shipped it back. The website if awful because it doesn't direct you to the right parts. When I called the 1-800 number the people were VERY rude and made it a point to tell me it was my error when it clearly was an error of the website. The customer service rep. Asked me send pictures but I was trying to explain I had already sent it back. They even hung up on me as I was trying to explain things. Now I have to pay to ship the item back and wait 2 more weeks to have my money returned. They offered no help for a refund for shipping. I feel robbed and I will never order from such RUDE people!
They clearly state on their website that the customer ALWAYS pays for shipping, even if the company is at fault. Unfortunately, I didn't see that until after they sent me a box with incomplete parts and their response was to have me pay to ship it back for them as a return, even though it's clearly due to their error.
Make you pay shipping on cores which is more than what the core will give you back. On another order they sent me a part that was so far off from what it was supposed to be it's ridiculous. So I had to pay to send it back. Do not recommend you do business with them.
Recently ordered a blower motor from PartsGeek and they sold me an item saying it fit and it physically doesn't fit. Returning it and I'm forced to pay shipping to return it. Why is the consumer responsible for paying return shipping when they send a part that doesn't fit model ordered?
Made a purchase 5/28/17 because they said they ship UPS/FEDEX. Part ended up shipping USPS so it got shipped back to them within a week. Called and they said refund in 3-5 days. Here I am over a month later and STILL no refund! Called them last week and they said 24-48 hours. DONT ORDER HERE! If you don't get your part they will NEVER give a refund! Now off to BBB website to report them.
I ordered a gas tank for a 1970 Ford F-100. I searched their catalog and it showed only one tank As my truck only has one tank then it must have been the correct one. I ordered it. Turns out it was the wrong tank. I asked for a call tag and they said they would not issue one because it was my mistake. Huh? Lousy service. Avoid at all cost
They sent me the wrong part for my car, zero chance of returns. No negotiations, no asking for a supervisor. Dangerous company that does not want to stand behind their name. If you have to use them, buy with a credit card so you can file a credit claim later.
They sent me the wrong parts and would not return them. 300.00 thrown away... Seriously take your business elsewhere
Tried calling about my order that took 2 weeks attempting to get to me before it returned to the seller. Called Parts Geek customer service and talked to David who was very rude, unhelpful, kept trying to speak over me and even hung up on me when i asked to speak to someone above him. When i mentioned it he got angry said they "lost connection" and would never lie. Ordering all my car parts elsewhere from now on.
In Nov. 08 and before the begining of the holidays I ordered 5 items from parts geek including 2 full Struts-Springs assembly, 2 tie rods ends and an oxygen sensor, order# 15-*******, I paid $314,. But when they arrived they were in boxes that were torn apart, looks like they been returned before, installed and uninstalled, and the parts themselves look like they been refurbished, one tierod end has a hole in its boot, struts had some scratches. I called the company whom assured me these are not used parts but new, I sent them pictures for the parts along with the condition of the boxes they came in, they told me you can return them but it will take 7-14 days to get credit back then you have to reorder them again and wait another week to receive them. Thus I decided to take them to the mechanics whom su jested to get new tierod end from local store and install the struts since they have lifetime warranty as well as the parts geek company confirmed they are new and the minor scratches on the paint no big deal. Thus He throuw out one tie rod end, and got one from Auto zone, and paid him $360 for labor. Six months later the strut-spring assembly started making noises and got louder. Since the part has a life-time limited warranty, I called the company and spoke to the manger Dennis, I told him what the mechanic told me that the left hand side strut is defective and needs to be replaced indeed. He told me that I have to order a new one first and pay $119 paid shipping then return the old one where am responsible for return shipping fees, which according to the US mail is around $83 and via FedEx around $69. As well as I have to pay the mechanic $150 for labor, being the part not from outside and not from him.
Parts Geek refuses to send a new one without paying for new one 119 nor they would cover the shipping cost for the return nor the labor.
In the top of that, their customer service very bad, rude, conniving, anger, hostile, intimidating, bullying and treated me like crab. They would put you on hold then they hung up the phone. The worst experience ever. Very difficult to do business with and would not recommend it to anyone.
I ordered a remanufactured starter for my 08 Duramax. Obviously, I don't expect a remanufactured part to come all shiny and brand new looking BUT I don't expect that part to come rusted, corroded, and with a broken terminal. I filed the return and got my RMA number from them the same day I received the part. I had paid 100 for the part and then told them I wanted a pre paid shipping label to return because I had nothing to do with their mistake. After a few emails I caved and just shipped it back myself. Id rather have my full part cost than spend my time arguing over the shipping. In an email they asked for my tracking number so they could verify shipment and then refund my card. AFTER saying that, they THEN asked for a picture of the item, I complied. I included the picture in this review, you can clearly see the part is still inside the box with the original packing paper and shipping slip. This is where they lost all integrity for me. They then proceed to tell me that they didn't send me that part, that I took off my installed starter, sent a picture of that, boxed it up, paid the return shipping fee, and I'm claiming my old starter is what they shipped me. They now have the part and are "examining" it but will likely not refund me because they "would not ship a part in that condition". Accountability and integrity are what makes a business. I understand that people make mistakes and that's ok, but own it and correct it. Problem solved. WORST customer service I have ever experienced and will NEVER give them my business again and NEVER recommend them to anyone.
I ordered a radiator for a 90 model mighty max truck with a 3.0 liter engine recieved a radiator for a 2.4 engine witch did not look anything like the one in the picture on their web site i called customer service they told me i had to talk to Ramon and take pictures of the part i recieved and my old radiator he told me it was boxed wrong to send it back only to wait three weeks to credit my account and he asured me if i reorderd i would recieve the correct one so i reordered and recieved a radiator for a 2.4engine again calked customer service they was rude and hung up on me i called back only to get hung up on again had to take pictures again and send wrong radiator back and waited a month this time to credit my account... VERY BAD BUSSINESS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE WILL NOT ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN
I got the wrong Struts and needed to exchange them. Parts Geek did not want me to return them. UPS and Fedex prices were about the same to ship back. They told me to ask Parts Geek for a return label or an account number for that shipping discount. I did and customer service got angry siting "our policy". I tried to save $10 by buying online and ended up spending a fortune. Never again. Bad business practice.
The first time I dealt with Partsgeek a couple of weeks ago, I was extremely happy with the item I ordered, the delivery time and especially the price. Now I have ordered and received a part for my other vehicle but it is incorrect.
The first item was a very expensive rearview mirror for my Ram 2500. It was $537 at the dealer but got a aftermarket from partsgeek for only $110. The guy on the phone was extremely nice and helpful. Came quickly, looked virtually identical to the original and was installed with no problem. Saved me a ton of money.
This time I have received a window regulator for my Sebring and the shop says it's the wrong one. Don't know why because their website shows it should be correct. Now I have to ship back the regulator at my cost and getting an RMA wasn't terribly difficult. I don't like the idea of having to pay shipping costs on a wrong part plus the hassle of boxing it up and taking it somewhere to be shipped. I would prefer getting a "pick up" tag so that UPS or whoever could just pick it up from my house. Now I'm afraid to order another one and have my money tied up for 2 regulators at the same time.
I will probably deal with this company in the future but order only by phone, not use the website. If a part is listed, they need to be a bit more clear as to what model it fits.
Edit: I returned the incorrect window regulator and received a credit immediately on the day they received it. Despite costing me $12 (and the inconvenience) to ship, I will continue to use this company for my parts. I've always been treated well on the phone and they have saved me an incredible amount of money.
I would strongly suggest calling to order a part rather than trusting the website.
SPENT $350.71 TOTAL PAID AND GAS TANK WAS FREE SHIPPING I PAID FOR IT CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID SO SORRY YOU PAID THEY ARE NOT NICE PEOPLE ON THE PHONE WILL NOT DO THIS AGAIN THEY SUCK!
I ordered a new CV joint and axle assembly for my 1993 MR2 Turbo. Parts Geek's database identifies the incorrect part (not even close to physically the same size!) When trying to return the part their customer support first refuses to believe me that the part is incorrect (even when I show them pictures of the correct part and their incorrect one), spends days running me around in circles via email, then they flat out refuse to pay for the return shipping. They claim "they provided me a service"! More like a disservice, by identifying the WRONG part and then wasting all my time to figure that out and return their mistake.
Ultimately, I would have to say avoid this company. Others have the parts just about as cheap and Part Geeks customer service was just about the worst I have EVER experienced. Shop elsewhere my friends...
I wrote them and said they sent the wrong bulb for my BMW backup light, they responded "Those bulbs fit many vehicles, Audi, BMW, Land Rover, Volkswagen and many others." I don't care about the other cars, it doesn't fit mine. So I ask for my money back or the right bulb, it's a $6 bulb, they want it returned but I have to pay for shipping. Great job with the customer service.
I purchased calipers, rotors and idlar arm for my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 from PartsGeek.com. My rotors arrived completely wrong even though the "check fit" said they were correct. PartsGeek.com gave me some line of cr... that I ordered heavy duty rotors, which I did for my 1500 series. They sent rotors for a 2500 series which were too wide, too thick and had 8 lugs and I'm charged with the freight to return them. They're approx 50 lbs so the shipping will probably be more than the price of the rotors. Beware of using them. Try Rock Auto
Ordered camshaft position sensor. Installed next day. Car would start but would not run. Spent day taking car apart and reinstalling again. Same result. Reinstalled old part, car not perfect but runs and can be driven. When I read how to send back and their rules while getting their number so I could return it becomes clear they insulate themselves as much as possible from any complaints. Don't believe the reviews on their site. You can believe the ones here because they they match my experience.
Answer: Because they're unprofessional, unethical, communist fuckin jackasses!
Answer: Parts geek had the rudest and most infuriating customer service I've encountered ever.
Answer: You'll pay plenty for shipping and if they give you the wrong part, you'll pay to ship it back. It's in their terms. You pay shipping both ways, regardless of fault.
Answer: Because they are either crooks, or they have some nut in the warehouse grabbing whatever and sending it to you even if it's wrong wrong wrong!
