I was excited to find a Christmas gift on Overstock.com on Cyber Monday. It was at least $60 dollars cheaper than other sites I was looking at. Two weeks later they said they miscounted in inventory and actually don't have, but would give me a $5 dollars credit. So not only did I have to rush to order reorder the gift in time before I leave for Christmas break, pay the extra shipping fee to get it in on time, pay the original cost (since I missed out on the Cyber Monday deal) but I also get a measly $5 in store credit which is useless since I don't plan on ever shopping there again.

I've ordered over the past 2 years with Overstok, you would think that I had learnt my lesson, apparently not.
Their products are at times worse than the Dollar Store; an example, a pair of black "suede" look boots, after less than a month they are falling apart. I paid over €45 approximately $65-70 for these boots with taxes etc. I could have bought a very good pair of leather boots for this cost.
They also give you the option to pay all duties etc with them, it's triple the normal cost. I returned items as they sent the wrong size, and some items were just junk quality. I had to argue for the full refund, AND then still pay the duties.
I will shop locally, even if at times it appears I pay more, I've realised you get what you pay for!
Complete JUNK products! Stay away!

I had ordered a ring, it was going on clearance, Paying went easy but the shipping took forever, I looked online, said that the ring had been left on the porch by the mailman... I checked up and down and nothing, so i called. My address was in amarillo, TX and the package was sent to New YORK! I was so mad. I couldnt get another ring shipped to me, since it was on clearance, so they refunded me... about a month later.

Overstock apparently has a back end process that changes the shipping address to some official address, but in the process they excluded my apartment number. Luckily they did include my building number so hopefully when UPS turns the package over to the office they will know who it is for. I called customer support and they stated that they don't have the ability to change the shipping address after the order has already been made. I may shop there again for cheap stuff like I did this time but I will never get anything of any real value there for fear of the item being lost.

Not for everyday use!

Ok, the same items that was given to me & my wife were seldom used till this year. This month, I needed to sit on one of the cheaply made leather dinning chairs to fix my son's toy. This chair two front legs shot forward to the ground. Luckily I didn't tear an acl.

Anyone who gave overstock a good review has to work there or must have some interest in that company, first time i ordered an item it took them 2 months to get it delivered, second time i order an item for over $2000. 00 never got any email confirmations or any phone calls, i got my credit card statement and the charge was there, i reached out to them on why i have not gotten any emails but my card has been charged, they said they had a problem charging my card yet on my statement the charge was clearly there and if there was a problem why wouldnt you call the number i provided or email me with the concerns like any other internet company would so we may address the problem, instead they tell me on a live chat to call there loss prevention dept for what was my concern loss prevention deals with thieves and fraud, i should have learned my lesson the first time now i have a canceled order that has been charged to my credit card and never received any costumer service at all. STAY AWAY FROM OVERSTOCK

I will not be a returning customer. The bed I ordered took over a week come in. And when it arrived it was missing the support legs. When I called customer service to tell them about the missing part, they told me that in 2 DAYS someone will reach out to me to let me know IF they were able to get the part shipped. So of course, after 2 days I get a call from Overstock.com customer support team letting me know that my parts have been shipped out and it's on its way to my house. The guy even gave me a tracking number. Hung up the phone, immediately checked the tracking number and it hasn't even been shipped yet! "A shipping label was created" was the status. Never shopping at Overstock.com again.

My order was to be delivered last Wednesday. Received call that part was lost. I was understanding then. Here it is day 6 and neither Overstock nor the delivery company seem to have any desire to locate the item or call me back.

I've ordered many times from Overstock with no problems, but this problem is over the top. I will never, ever order from them again.
Long story short... I ordered an $800 bed frame. I was out of the country, but had a full time house sitter there to accept the delivery. I received several emails that I had to make an appointment for delivery. I called, from out of the country, and made an appointment for delivery (with the house sitter signing). I then got an email from Overstock that the item was returned and I was charged $128.00 for the return. I've called Overstock 3 times to talk to someone about the issue and have been directed to someone else, who then couldn't help. I am now being told to talk to someone in LTO (why couldn't I have been told that the first 3 times I called?). When I called the LTO Dept today, I was told they are 'not answering their phones due to being at a 2-hour party in appreciation for Customer Service Week.'
If this weren't all so annoying, it would be hysterically funny. A customer service appreciation party? THEN HOW ABOUT A LITTLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!?
Overstock.com... you have just lost a very loyal customer, who has spent thousands and thousands of dollars with you in the past.

So I order a rug to come to Australia from the USA, pay my $404.00 and cross my fingers. Well, the rug arrived in record time, in perfect condition and looks amazing in my living room. Very happy first experience with overstock.

I ordered, paid $599 for and received a laptop computer from OO. Trouble is it would not charge up with power.

I phoned and asked for a refund. Initially I was told that this was not their concern, I would have to take it up with the manufacturer (of course it was manufactured overseas).

I told them this was incorrect in law, that they had supplied me with faulty goods and they had an obligation in law to offer me a refund or replacement (my choice). Eventually after about 20 minutes of hassles they agreed to this, subject to my getting the goods returned to them in 30 days.

I asked for details of return address etc.: they said they would send me this by email.

The email came... no return address, just that someone would be contacting me to arrange for collection. So far, nothing.

Why do I get the impression that they are making this as difficult as possible for me?

Credit card was charged and order have not been processed.

Here is the transcript from support chat:

Matt: Hi, my name is Matt. How may I help you?

Visitor: I have just placed an order, your site shows payment error, therefore money was charged from my card.
Matt: I'll be glad to help you with the concern.
Matt: May I know whether you have received any email confirmation or the order number?
Visitor: No I did't received it.
Visitor: Here is HOLD status from by Internet bank - ***
Matt: In that case, be assured that your order hasn't gone through and the the charge which you have seen is an pre-authorization charge which will automatically fall off within 3 -5 business days.
Visitor: I don't want to wait 3-5 business day. I just want to process the order.
Visitor: If it is not possible please return my money and I will go to another site.
Matt: Not to worry, you will be charged only when your order gets processed and shipped out.
Visitor: What should I do now? My money is in HOLD. Order did not processed.

Visitor: I cannot use money that you have charged as it is in HOLD status. Failed attempt to pay in your shop has led to the fact that I cannot buy the item I wish in other place because I have no more money on my card right now. Is it normal case in your opinion?

Visitor: I do not need you apologize. I need a solution. I see only two of them - process the order or return money right now.
Matt: We don't hold the money for the orders that haven't gone through, thus I recommend you to check with your bank for the posting timeframe.

Visitor: Is I sad before I see following line in account operations list:

So my Samsung phone some how got hacked and got a virus on it, atnt told me I can take it up with Samsung but it a risk in most of the older android phones, the phone was under a year old, but it was a 2. I could not wait overstock had smart phones on sale, shipping was easy( but a bit costly) but my phone arrived in about the time they said it would with no issues. I would say that the expedited shipping is not worth it if you order on a weekend, It does not and cant leave the warehouse in time for it to even matter, they do make this very clear so you know the risk that you take. I am happy with my new windows phones it great and I will have no issue getting a phone from that company in the future.

Didn't end up ordering ANY of the craft items on my "wish list" from Overstock. I surfed the net and nearby craft stores and found that Overstock actually had the highest prices on EVERY ITEM - sometimes as much as 50% higher! Why does anyone shop here?

They make it so you cannot autopay on their credit account then they change the min due when you set up a payment in advance, causing them to charge you $40 late fee for a $2 difference because they changed it.
Horrible customer service. Would never recommend after this issue.

I ordered alphabet stamps for my classroom. I received 2 large boxes of children's wooden blocks instead. The return went smoothly, but I just received the replacement - another box of children's wooden blocks. Seems like such a simple order - if they can't handle that - why would anyone order anything from this company?!
