Received an order today expecting a 3 pc dinette set and instead receive 2 chairs. When my 83 yr old mother searched their site gor a 3 pc dinette this item popped up. She fid not realize it was only 2 chairs. Called them to buy the correct item and return the incorrect item (unopened). They informed my mom they were going to charge her $31 to return a $120 item. This is unacceptable. They should change their name to overcharge! Or overpromise, under deliver!
Bad reputation for many reasons. E.g., Two items of my order arrived later than I agreed on. Recently, I asked for a replacement to a defective piece I have received, not sent yet, whereas I had an event and couldn't use it. I regret that I didn't return my order, which has included many items!
I placed an order on 5/12/23. All went well. Today I decided to go into my account and I noticed that my credit card was kept I file. I tried to take it off and it wouldn't allow me so I called customer service. She tells me that it cannot be done that is stays on there for a minimum of 4 yrs so I asked her to close out my account. She first said she couldn't and then she says she will sent me a link to cancel my account. I follow the prompts to close account thinking I'm good. An hour later I get an email telling me that they can't close out my account for a minimum of 4 yrs for tax purposes. I get a second email asking me to take a survey about my experience with customer service so I figure great I will give them a terrible review. After I hit submit it took me to the website and I noticed that there were 2 items in my cart. I click on the cart and see 2 items totaling 1700.00. Which I never put in my cart. Now I know I am in trouble. I had to call my credit card company and have them cancel the card and issue a block from anything overstock ever tries to place on my account. This company is so gross.
Buggy website that causes issues with shipping. Subpar furniture. Worthless customer service. Shopping nightmares. Will never use again.
I received my bookcase without any hardware at all. It's been over 10 days trying to just get the parts to me. Now they are saying they will reach out to the company to see if they are available. They said to save the packaging! Wait! What? That was discarded when I first started the project! Worst company ever! Will NEVER ORDER AGAIN! $250 WASTED! Save your money. Buy local!
I purchased the teak outdoor dining chair; very easy to assemble; on time delivery; good value. I highly recommend this product and give it an A-1 rating.
The retailer sent me a damaged product and is not abiding by their written return policy. I asked for a replacement part and was never informed when that was denied so I opted for a full refund that they originally offered. My concern was they would not tell me who the carrier is, what the tracking number is, or send me the label. My only option was to wait for a pickup that I know zero information on and have no control over, nor can I ship the item out. They said "The refund will be processed with 3-5 business days even if the carrier didn't pick up the item. If it is past 10 days, you can dispose or donate the item." I have contacted support four times notifying them that no pickup attempt has been made, three of which I was told that my refund has been issued and to continue waiting. Since it has been over a week, I reached out again and was now told the refund was never issued and they need to receive the product first. Every day I carry out the heavy box with a broken arm and hope that no one steals it which is an issue in my area. I have asked twice for customer service refused to transfer me to a manager and they will end the chat and never transfer me.
I ordered a small piece of furniture and paid $356.00 for it. It was represented in the ad as though it was real wood by using the terms walnut color, etc. So, I ordered it!
However, when received it was extremely heavy and hard to manage. So, I did not open and sent it back. Overstock did not like the reason I returned the item so they charged me $200.93 for the return to them back through UPS, how they sent it to me. I received a refund of the difference for $156.00 approximately.
So. Overstock made approximately $100.00 for doing nothing but receiving the package back exactly as they sent it. That my friends is a "Rip Off" by any other name!. So, count on Overstock when you make a mistake in ordering, since they will charge you $100.00 for an error. I could NOT hate them more. The world does not need companies to take advantage of the consumers like that.

Be careful when ordering from Overstock.com. I placed an order on an item that was backordered. After a couple of days, I realized I really didn't have the money to spend and contacted them to cancel the order. Since the item was on backorder, I figured this wouldn't be a problem. They proceeded to tell me they couldn't cancel the order because it had already been sent to their warehouse. I informed them the item was on backorder so they can just contact their warehouse. It should be that easy right? After a few times back and forth they told me once again that they couldn't cancel the order because now all of the sudden the item has been shipped. Funny thing is the expected delivery date is still the same. I truly believe they removed the "backorder" from the item and just told me it was shipped so that they could say they couldn't cancel. They had more than enough time to cancel this order but chose to treat their customer like this. VERY BAD BUSINESS!
After you order a product the money is immediately taken from you account while your product sits in their warehouse for months. I tried for months to contact someone regarding this massive screw up but overstock has no customer support. They still owe me hundreds of dollars for an item I had to cancel after it sat in their warehouse.
Overstock has refunded the price of the curtains that I did not receive due to USPS added fee for shipping to PO Box that was not included in address. USPS is going to finally deliver to my house eliminating the need for a PO Box.
Found products cheaper at Walmart, unfortunately after buying at Overstock. Charged extra on a "free shipment" and returned product, only to be charged full price and not get anything. Applied to "free Club O membership for military veterans" and was accepted and then lost in system. Total rip off!
After placing a $2500 order with Overstock, I immediately (within an hour) requested a cancellation of one small portion of the order ($67). I actually received an email with the cancellation request confirmation BEFORE I received a confirmation email of the order itself. That is how quickly the cancellation request was made. And while the items were not shipped for two days, the items were shipped anyway. Meanwhile, I ordered a replacement item. When I contacted customer service about returning that small portion of the order, they would only return it for a fee and only for store credit. They would not allow a return with a refund. After speaking with three different agents I requested to speak with a manager. They would not connect me to a manager, and instead promised that one would call back. No call back.
FRAUD AT ITS FINEST!
I have ordered from Overstock frequently over the years. Product/delivery fine. But any credit that they appear to issue for returns will never appear in your bank account. In the past, a return created an in-house credit that with persistence you could wring out of them to your bank account. But their current scam is to say that credit was sent to my bank -- yet it has never appeared in my account. I trust my bank far more than I trust them. And the promised call-backs from their credit department never come.
This is fraud at its finest! Buyer Beware -- Don't place that order
So you would think I would have learned my lesson as have had multiple problems with this company but going to advise of most recent issue.in October 2022 I placed an order and here we are at end of March 2023 and still never received product. I first communicated with them through text back in November 22 as product was delayed wanted me to contact ups which I did to no avail.I contacted and spoke to a Mark on 03/17/23 advised him of situation he said it would be reviewed and I would be contacted in 1 to 2 days he was kind but guess what never contacted so I called back today and spoke to a joann worthless customer service for one let's speak English and have people that can be understood but pretty much sorry you ordered it and used your overstock card and are paying interest on an item you have never received can u say fraud theft what else could it be want me to contact manufacturer.really thats my job? As a customer you order you pay really wouldn't you think the company is responsible for getting product to customer in which they have been paid for? Beware of this company I'm headed to my attorney for a civil suit done with them!
Was not expecting a $103 return fee on a $500 table, but here we are. I accidentally ordered the oval version instead of the round. This company is not upright and honest and the customer service team will give you the run around even giving me a customer service email knowing that it is completely unmonitored. I do not recommend anyone shop here and I would strongly advise against it.
There was a wrong address on my order, so I called them within a matter of mintues to change it. They hasd to cancel the whole order and I had to wait for them to refund the money that took several weeks. They blamed Pay Pal and come to find out they did not know how to issue a refund throrugh Pal Pay Portal.
I will NEVER do business with Overstock again!
I will update my horrible review depending on the response received from either the manufacture or Overstock. I placed an order for this sofa in September, but it was delivered in November. They say that both companies only provde a thiry day warranty and I missed the deadline. I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves.
Item arrived with some damages but we were still able to put the couch togehter, a month later the entire thing started falling apart. Pieces will not stay connected, a foot rest will not go back down, one of the backs won't stay up. This couch is a hot mess. Lol
I called Overstock who won't do anything yet and say I have to take it up with the manufacture. I contact the manufacture and they gave me a customer service email saying they had no number to call... so yeah let's wait and see if they will help make this right with me or if I am just freaking screwed out of two grand for a hunk of junk.
DO NOT SHOP FROM OVERSTOCK! Buy everything from Wayfair because Wayfair has amazing customer service. Overstock DOES NOT. They sent me a completely defective dresser and I asked for them to send a replacement. They agreed but ONLY if we disassemble the ENTIRE dresser, BOX IT UP, and ship it back to them! They said if I don't do that I will be charged for the replacement or not receive a refund. My husband spent 3 HOURS putting that piece of garbage together and there's no way we are spending any time taking it apart and somehow packaging it up. I have never heard of a company treating their customers so poorly before! Save your time and your money and DO NOT SHOP HERE!
Overstock does not vet the independent sellers they have on their platform and they do not monitor their behavior either. Sellers can ghost buyers and avoid the return process by simply replacing buyers names with (null)(null). If this is done, a return cannot be started through the website.

I cancelled an order of a sink ($500) but they would not cancel it and sent the item, instead! Now I must pay to send it back, IF THEY'LL even accept and credit me!
Answer: Hey, I would be very careful. I have transacted with Overstock three times and I don't believe there is as much security in terms of guarantee as with Amazon. And, if you buy items fulfilled by Amazon (meaning the product ships from Amazon's warehouse) you are even more guaranteed. For example, I bought some dinner napkins from an Amazon seller, fulfilled by Amazon. They were not what they were supposed to be and Amazon issued me a credit immediately and scheduled UPS to pick up my item to return. I'm very confident that with Amazon you will get quality service and if the product is not as described or substandard you will be in better hands especially with Amazon fulfilled items. Overstock is just not up to par and I wouldn't purchase something like a medicated cream from Overstock until they get it together.
Answer: I used a credit card on Overstock when purchasing my bed. It was years ago, I still sleep on it. I had no problems using my credit card on Overstock
