The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

Original tickets were $247 a piece. Bought them for what I THOUGHT was $400 a pair. Fair enough as they are a dealer. THEN the surprise on my credit card. An effing $240 "service charge" I'm sorry, for WHAT?!?!?! What exactly was this "service" I paid for? I went back and forth with them via email to no avail and finally gave up as they are RIP OFF ARTISTS and should be shut down! All the reviews on here couldn't me more correct. Not ONE good one. Explains it all. They should REALLY start reading these reviews if they care a bout their company. I've been definitely spreading the words to my many followers and friends. And will continue to do so. They suck.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Same experience everyone else is reporting. Thought I was purchasing tickets from the event website. After purchased I saw a $60 added service charge. Tried to contact them, of course no response. Was trying to take my little girl to see Disney on Ice and now I'm not sure if we are even going to receive the tickets and didn't budget for unexpected cost. Turns out after doing research this wasn't the event website and my cost of tickets would be a ton less on a legit ticket purchasing company like Ticketmaster. Someone shut this place down; they make a event that suppose to be special and fun into a headache and take advantage of people. Its not right.
I ordered 2 tickets three months ago for an event tonight. The day I ordered them, I was charged $348.10 and OnlineCityTickets sent me an email stating they would "send me an email with a link to download my tickets" but the day of the event, I suddenly realized that the promised email never had arrived. There was no way to get the tickets using my order number from the website, so I was at the mercy of calling a customer service hotline. I was put on hold for over 30 mins, then was asked to leave a message (because "all service representatives were busy"), then I couldn't leave a message because they hung up on me. So, I called back - this time using my mobile AND my home phone at the same time in hopes of doubling my chances of reaching someone... while I was on hold, I also sent an email explaining my situation. This time I was able to leave a message on their customer service voice mail with my mobile phone. With my home phone, I was on hold for 50 mins and FINALLY got a human actually took my call! The representative apologized for the lengthy and frustrating experience and promptly sent my tickets via email. Thankfully they were legitimate and I was able to enjoy my event. While everything turned out in the end, it definitely was not the best experience. I would have preferred not having to spend 90 mins of my day trying to track down something that should have been a sent previously. I have only ordered directly from Ticketmaster in the past and ordered once through StubHub and did not experience this level of stress or wasted time. I don't recommend using OnlineCityTickets due to the poor level of customer service.
They should be outlawed,!... I'm hoping my bank will get me out of this F'D UP SITUATION!... no bed side manner, refuse to fix their screw up... and all in all... the worse experience I've ever had on line (period)! I spent the whole day upset at myself for having dealt with these modern day con artist!... terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE!
Do not buy tickets from this website. I went to buy 2 tickets for a Neil Diamond concert. First of all, the default # of seats was set to 6. It does not give you an option to change the # of seats before submitting your order. Second, it does not let you review your order before submitting. So imagine my surprise when I purchased 6 tickets instead of only 2. Also, the prices are misleading, on the ticket stubs, the seats were going for $79.50 a piece but this website charged me $156 per seat. When you call customer service, you can't get ahold of anyone. You wait on hold forever & are then asked to leave a message & they will call you back - they don't return your phone call. When I explained what happened, they would not correct the mistake that happened. They informed me I would have to sell the tickets.
I brought tickets to the Kat Williams Show for Feb 14th the show was postponed to Feb 22nd and these people won't refund my money. Bad business
I did a Google search for "ticketmaster" having never bought a ticket and this site came up first for the concert I was looking for. Knowing only Ticketmaster sold tickets to this concert I bought tickets and they advertised four tickets for a price. However, when you purchase the tickets the price is now per ticket with a huge service charge. The price per ticket is inflated by about 100%. They will not refund the money and I am working with Mastercard to try and reverse the charges.
UPDATE: 5 of the 6 tickets were already used (i. E. someone else had the same ticket and had already entered the concert before me). I approached onlinecitytickets and after several messages and playing endless telephone tag I contacted Mastercard. I had to get a letter from the conference facility which proved that when I went to use the tickets they had already been scanned. I received a full refund for those tickets which were already used.
Bull$#*!! I went on venue site and got rerouted to this site. Wanted to get tickets for anniversary present for wife and paid $150 per ticket fee. My utter stupidity I guess, I thought I was on ticket master. So pissed off, getting in touch with BBB and legislators
Unbelievably rude and horrible customer service. Thank you Jamie for NOTHING! Not only are you rude and wont listen to paying customers (who you've just charged a $50 booking fee) but you wont put me through to your manager to pursue the issue further. Online City Tickets your business model is deplorable! DO NOT USE THIS SIGHT!
Do not use this sight. Bought tickets. Never came in the mail. Call back and they had cancelled my order. Said they didn't have a correct email. She repeated my email and it was correct. So I was in no way notified of the cancellation. Now to check with the credit card company! So now I have to tell my kids we are not going because of this stupid inadequate company. Thanks a lot. Then she actually asked me if she could transfer me to a ticket sales person. Really?
I bought tickets for Online City Tickets only to find out that they had already been scanned on the night of the Sam Smith concert in San Francisco. Now they having me filling out forms as to why I was denied access to the concert. Hello, you sold me the tickets! You tell me why the didn't work? Slow customer service - no appologies for me and guest not seeing the show we wanted to see. Now they have me spending more time telling them what happened instead of them saying they are sorry and explaining to me what happened. Next stop - Better Business Bureau for Delware
THE WORSE EVER! I PURCHASED TICKETS HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME THINKING I WAS GETTING THE BEST SEATS... FIRSTABLE THEY TELL YOU... YOU WON'T GET YOU TICKETS TILL THE ACTUAL CONCERT DAY? THEY CHARGED $380 FOR SERVICE CHARGE?! SO WE GET THERE AND WE SEE A LONG LINE PEOPLE WAITING FOR THE TICKETS, NOBODY CAN'T FIND THE PERSON WHO'S BRINGING THE TICKETS. BY THIS TIME IS CONCERT HAS ALREADY STARTED... AND WE ARE VERY UPSET BECAUSE WE WERE THINKING ON HAVING A GOOD TIME, BUT WAS THE WORSE TIME EVER. I CALLED OFFICE AND OFCOURE NO ONE TO ANSWER. PLEASE DON'T YOU EVER BUY FROM THIS PEOPLE... IS A SCAM BIG TIME. I WISH I CAN GIVE THEN A ZERO. THEY DON'T EVEN DESERVED A 1 STAR
Please do not make the same mistake that I did and order tickets from this company. They added large fees and told me that I was unable to get a refund because I had already agreed to their terms. The tickets were supposed to arrive a few days before the performance. Starting 5 days before the show, I called them on a daily basis and was told that the tickets would be sent that day and I would get an email. Finally the day before the show they told me that they would be at the will call window at the show venue. The tickets were a gift for my daughter. She went to the show with her friend, was told at the will call window that there was a problem and that there were no tickets for her, and she had to leave without seeing the show. Now I am on the phone with them once again and have been on hold forever while I am attempting to get my money back. I paid $385.15 for these 2 tickets that I never received.
How in the world can this company stay online? Why has somebody not come along and removed it? Hmm... I wonder. What can we do? Who can we write to? Is there nothing we can do? I wrote to the Better business bureau but that was it. They just emailed me saying my complaint has been received. I don't care about what I went through anymore... but man, I sure would love to prevent them from robbing anymore people!
I went to the website of the concert I wanted to see to purchase tickets, and online city tickets popped up. I thought I was purchasing tickets through the Gila River Arena where the concert was being held.
On the selection screen, it showed Qty. 2 $156, however through other research I knew the tickets were going for between $100 and $300 each, so I figured I would be paying $156 each times the two I needed but it is very misleading. I was however very surprised to see the $47 each service charge for both the tickets totaling $94.00. But at this cost we were now up to the others I researched and no longer the deal I thought I was getting. Service Charges are very expensive. I was also charged $7.50 for Instant download fee. After the tickets arrived I found they only cost $92 each originally and the name on my ticket was not mine and the tickets are being resold and not by the concert hall I thought I was dealing with.
I had a similar experience with the other reviews. I went to the website of the concert I wanted to see to purchase tickets, and online city tickets popped up. I thought I was purchasing tickets through the Resch center where the concert was being held. While I was purchasing, I found out I was only going to need 2 tickets rather than 4 and I changed the quantity. There was nothing to confirm the order was correct. I received the email saying my order was accepted for 4 tickets for $475.00 when the tickets were suppose to be $42. I called immediatly and they said there was nothing I could do and I would have to sell them online. I said I wasn't about to "scam" someone else just because I had been taken. They did however, (or we'll see) refunded me $75 (I don't have it yet) but that would still mean I am paying $100 per ticket; 2 of which I am "treating" 2 friends. I couldn't even try to sell online because I just received them yesterday and the concert is tonight. They have taken something good that I wanted to do for my 85 year old mother and made it into a complete disaster. I work 2 jobs as it is so it is not like I have $500 to throw away. Don't ever use this company!
Here was my experience with onlinecitytickets.com - I don't recommend using unless you have no other options for getting tickets to your event.
I went to buy a pair of tickets to an upcoming concert using my smartphone. On the selection screen, it showed Qty 2 for $270 (not $270 ea.) After this screen, you click to checkout. Imagine my surprise when my already-confirmed (and not refundable, no matter how quickly your report this to the site) transaction total was over $750 after taxes! Each ticket price was $270 (not indicated anywhere), and a $160 admin fee was tacked on (also not indicated anywhere prior to confirming it).
I reported to them, and they simply replied with "nothing we can do." Brutal setup, and brutal customer service.
I incurred a $141.00 service charge as well as a $6.95 e-mail delivery fee for 5 tickets which were $94.00 each. After I talked to 2 different people I received NO satisfaction.
In my opinion, I was "taken." They would not cancel my transaction. I NEVER saw the
Service fee until I received my order confirmation. The company insists it was on the
Screen. Had I seen it, I NEVER would have accepted the terms. Of course, I will never
Do business with these folks again. Fooled me once. Shame on OnlineCityTickets!
Service Charges very expenses. Went to purchase tickets and with no warning almost $150.00 in service charge fees. Be very careful if you decide to use this site... I checked other sites for tickets afterwards and found I was charged over double the amount of any other site, not to mention this was not the website I started with, I tried a box office venue and somehow ened up on this onlineictytickets site:-/ be very careful with this site, looking on FB and other places, i am not the only one that found the service charges are expensive.
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
