The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

I typed in Amalie theatre and got to this site thinking it was the Arena ticket office. I asked for 2 tickets to Garth Brooks at the Amalie Arena on June 5th. When I got my tickets they were for Knoxville, TN a week earlier. I called and returned the tickets for resale. They said I asked for the Thompson-Boling Arena on May 29th and that they had the call recorded but when I asked to hear the recording they "couldn't do that". WHAT A CROCK! I live in Florida and I didn't even know there was a Thompson-Boling Arena. They ultimately offered me a $72.95 refund on a $292.95 ticket purchase, which I refused. They did NOT resell the tickets. I checked the Arena and the section I bought was sold out! If you want tickets, go to a more reputable place!
Honestly I was so upset when I looked at my credit card bill after buying tickets from here. It is listen in small print in their terms and agreements that all tickets are listed in american dollars but not listed on the webpage. Despite selling tickets to all events. They were extremely non understanding when I called an mentioned it. I ended up paying $314ca dollars for tickets worth $154. They are a scam site that went under my venues name. CROOKS THROUGH AND THROUGH!
This is a scam. I went through the process of ordering concert tickets for 2 specific seats and was advised AFTER completing the form AND giving my credit card number that the seats were no longer available. But that didn't stop them from billing me $425. Was put on hold for 23 minutes when I called to complain, and then their response was basically "too bad, sucker! No refunds" This constitutes fraud, and a I have filed a complaint with the state attorney general.
I bought tickets to at&t concert and I received just what I paid for I'm a pleased buyer and I would recommend this site to anyone
Bought my tickets through the Bass Concert Hall Austin web site thinking I was buying from the venue, wrong! Shame on me for not seeing the disclaimer that they were a reseller. Over $40 in fees and $6 fee to email the tickets! Will Never go to the Bass Concert Hall again or use OnlineCitytickets.
I bought six concert tickets only to find out that I was charge almost $28.00 per ticket in service fees. Not to mention $14.95 FedEx shipping fee, as they do not offer lesser expensive USPS service.
What a rip off... I would never buy tickets from this site again!
I had forgotten about a concert happening on May 9 and only started looking for tickets on May 6th. I found tickets on this site for $38 each with an $11 surcharge. Since I had waited so long I had to spring for the overnight FedEx of $24. These tickets arrived as promised the next day and were exactly as advertised. I don't feel $11 was too much to ask to get me seats I wanted with 3 days advance notice. I have no complaints.
You are not told that the tickets include an extreme "up-cost". I paid over $50 for a $15 ticket. I was led to believe that the premium cost was for great seats, only to find out later that those seats were not "premium".
Everyone, you are taking your chances trying to get tickets from this place. It's a waste of time and money and you probably will have problems getting your tickets. I've posted here before after I never got my tickets and a lot of hassle talking with their help line. They made lots of promises but never came through. Buyer beware!
I purchased tickets for an event as a gift to a friend. I was promised the tickets would be sent by Thursday, and did not receive them. They were for a Saturday event. I tried calling them and emailing them, but no one returned my calls. I was put in voicemail. I then purchased the tickets much cheaper and better seats on another site. Finally, on Saturday, the day of the event they call and send the tickets. It was too late. I have disputed this charge with my credit card. Don't deal with these people. There is no customer service and their service charge prices are outrageous.
My friend and I got tickets to a show for this weekend months ago. They had so many reasons why our tickets had not come. What was going to be a great weekend has a cloud hanging over it because we have to deal with these yahoos. I don't understand why they are stil in business after reading all the posts on the BBB site. They have promised now to send us e-tickets but for some reason cannot send them until tomorrow. Does that make any sense? I will be very surprised if the e-tickets come. I read an in depth investigation of tickets that can be bought on line and these stories are pretty typical. They said that Ticket Master was the only reputable company in the business.
Just realized that I have been ripped off by an unscrupulous ticket seller! We paid $204 for 2 tickets plus $61 for a service charge and $6.95 for email delivery. When I printed the tickets they said "$56!" We paid $102 each. I then went to the actual venue ticket office and tickets in the same section are selling for $59. It was my big mistake for not reading these reviews first and just assuming that I would get a fair deal. What a despicable company!
Honestly, don't waste your money on this site. It is very shady and does not list that there is a service charge AND an e-delivery fee. It tells you a subtotal, then takes you to a page to place an order and then next thing you know it tells you in the summary page what you paid you. I called customer service twice: once I got hung up on after the lady called me a liar and then I waited for an 1hr and 5 minutes and then had to move on with my life. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.
Went to the venue site where it sent me to tickets. 71 bucks for two tickets to wwe wrestling for my son. After 40 bucks in surcharges my bill was 194 dollars, OK. When tickets arrive they have a face value of 25 dollars on the ticket. Is this even legal? Shame on me for not reading the fine print but if I ever get my hands on anyone that works for online city tickets, look out...
I bought tickets. I was annoyed by all the surcharges and the $6.95 download charge. But the price was still good for the seats I was getting. Or so I thought. I thought I was getting tickets. I looked around and found the section I wanted to sit in was going for about $75 - $100. After all the surcharges the tickets on their site was $50. Great deal I thought! But when I got the tickets they put us in the worst section in the worst seats. Ticketmaster is selling those tickets for $15!
I called to ask them about it. I have been on hold for 45+ minutes! They won't answer the phone. They say everyone is "assisting other customers." It is Wednesday at 2pm. How many people have they F'ed over they can't answer a phone call within 45 minutes?
This just makes me sick. I can't believe how completely screwed I feel by this company. It isn't even about the money. It is just so wrong. All of it is just so freaking wrong.
I just bought 2 tickets for Jersey Boys in Austin at the Bass Concert Hall. I was assessed a $51 surcharge plus a $7.50 handling fee. None of these fees were listed on the previous screen prior to pressing the purchase button! Wow, what a shady site. I then checked the reviews... not surprisingly similar reviews. I did receive the e-tickets immediately as promised. I hope all goes well once my daughter and I go to see the show Saturday night!
I ordered 4 tickets through Online City Tickets for the Iggy Azalea concert, the date changed by 5 months and we can no longer go. I understand that they are a second party company that sells tickets with a 100% buyer guarantee, so with that I thought we were safe. I WAS WRONG! I called them *******450) to get a refund for the tickets. Nope not going to happen, I was told, they don't give refunds. Where was this stated when buying my tickets?... It wasn't! I only found out about this when I called. I was also told, "because the tickets were already emailed to me (charged $6.95 for email delivery) and that I had downloaded them (which I haven't) that I have them in hand and would use them," that came from the supervisor, Ken. At that point I was very upset for the rudeness and the thought that I would do something like that, I have morals. They could refund me $495.75 for the tickets and repost them on their overpriced site. I would have even been okay with them keeping half of the service charge and email delivery feeā¦Service charge $112.80/2=$56.40 + $6.95 email delivery fee=$63.35 profit they could have kept from a refund, then sold the tickets again that they actually don't even purchase themselves. They would have lost nothing, but now they will forever lose a customer and future customers due to their rudeness, unethical business practices and poor business model. If you are wanting to buy tickets for any event or concert, PLEASE go to the actual venue to purchase your tickets so that you will not be over priced, charged ridiculous service fees and treated rudely over the phone.
Bought tickets to the circus for my pregnant wife, 4 yr old son and my self for a 10:30 am show at Nassau Coliseum. That morning we were hit with a snow storm that lasted all day. I called them and told them I didn't think it was wise to drive to circus with a child and pregnant wife in a snow storm and politely asked them if I could exchange them for another date. Needless to say they were less than accommodating. They could care less. They weren't even apologetic. I wasn't asking them for a refund I just wanted tickets for another showing. The weather was so bad school was closed, why would I put my family's well being at risk. And I actually called them 2days prior to this storm expressing my concern and wasn't like I called them after the fact... Hope they go bankrupt and all that works there are soon dumpster diving for there next meal..
If there is a zero star or anything that represents negative I will choose that. The maroon 5 ticket I downloaded ticket price and very surprise how much they over charge customers. Rip off company.
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
