I ordered from this company during their Cyber Monday BOGO sale. I received a code to access the sale a day early and made my purchase on the Sunday. In the Facebook Live video she indicated all items were IN STOCK and would ship out the NEXT BUSINESS DAY unless the item was marked PRE ORDER. I chose the fleece lined leggings and the boyfriend lounge pants. I was not going to order because my order did not include free shipping but decided to pay the $12 shipping charge because I was getting two pairs of pants for a reasonable price. I received an order summary right away confirming my order. I received a shipping confirmation four days later on November 30, which confirmed both of my items were on the way. Received another email that my items were out for delivery December 7, again showing both items. Received my order and only received the fleece lined leggings and the lounge pants were crossed off the packing slip, and indicated refunded no reason why. I was slightly annoyed and confused because all correspondence received indicated they had shipped both. I never received an email about a refund or anything (I did receive a refund though). Out of curiosity I went on the website and found the pants, in my size in stock and I could have ordered them (full price) -but I didnt (so it was not because they were out of stock). If I would have known I would have only received one pair I would not have paid $12 shipping to get them. It would have been nice to receive correspondence letting me know what was going on. I never sent an email as from what I have gathered from following the owner on Instagram is that they are human and it is what it is, they are not sorry, they are human and mistakes happen. I also dislike that they delete any negative feedback, so it appears everyone has great experiences. I read the reviews on this site before ordering but I also saw a local business rave about Obv Chic so took a chance. But after my order experience and following both the company and company owner on Instagram (since unfollowed), I will not order from this company again.
As far as a two star rating I had to give them more than a one star as the leggings I received were well made and very warm, I was happy with the quality. They also did refund me basically giving me half off the pair I did receive.
Ultimately, their lack of customer focus and lack of transparency are the reasons I personally will not order from this company again or subscribe to their subscription box. I do not feel my experience is a one off and that they try to filter these experiences out. Even if you do a search on Facebook of Obviously Chic it brings up public posts of people talking about similar experiences (not on the companys Facebook page though).
I do realize my experience is not horrible but the way they handled my order did not make me feel as though they valued my business. There was no apology or reason given with regards to my missing item.
Well I finally got my sweaters... 4 1/2 months later and they were the wrong sweaters!
Absolutely brutal... no impressed and it's too bad as they have really cute items!
Boooo on Obviously Chic!
I ordered from their BOGO Boxing Day sale on Dec 27. One of the items said available the others said ship Jan 21. Nothing on the website saying it was a pre order. Did not receive the item that said available to be shipped in 2 days. Waited until Jan 21 and nothing. No emails stating my order was shipped, nothing. So I emailed. They dont have a number you can call Ofcourse. Days later I get an email stating orders are delayed and will be sent out jan 31st. I emailed to complain, she said I could be offered discount on my next order if I wait until the 31st. So I wait. And NOTHING! By this point I think Ive lost my money (135$) and debate calling my visa company. Especially after reading these terrible reviews. Ofcourse she doesnt have reviews on her website or Facebook now I understand why! I emailed asking for my money back. Totally diss appointed. How does it take over a month to ship a couple sweaters/shirts. Unbelievable. After a week or so of back and forth emails and waiting for a credit on my cc I finally did get my money back. Phew! Never again. Deleted the page from my Facebook and told all my family/friends to stay away!
I should have learned my lesson, I have ordered from this company a few times and the shipping has always been ridiculous, once it took 3 months to get a top I had ordered! Always excuses, hand written notes in the package telling me that the pre-sale item I had ordered was out of stock. I of course should not have been fooled again but did order two non-presale items during a bogo in November. The shipping was much faster than usual but the items I received were totally ridiculous junk. A hoodie that wasnt even finished on the cuffs that was insanely tiny and a tunic that I could have driven my car into it was so huge! These items were the same size btw! I immediately packaged it up and went down to Canada post to return, paid extra for tracking since I dont trust them! They received my return on December 13 and have not refunded my $, I should have not bothered paying to return im sure ill never see the money again! I have emailed and the only response I got was s month ago when they said returns are processed in the order they are received I have emailed again
No response, such a complete scam! If I was a retailer I wouldnt want to be associated with this ridiculous line!

I ordered off the BOGO. Big bold writing decorated in gold sparkles, "BOGO EVERYTHING IN STOCK"
I searched for a minute or 2 and picked my stuff. I knew exactly what is was getting.
They took my money quick. They placed the order quick. They "shipped" my order quick. I received messages telling me all this. Confirming it was on its way.
Only days later I see the same amount refunded on my visa... So I emailed and questioned them. They responded with " we ran out of the sweaters you ordered."
If you ran out? Why was the order shipped? I were there messages sent, tracking number, order was placed. Order was on its way. Nope!
Huge disappointment. They sent messages about my fake order but couldn't inform me of the refund or that they actually didnt fullfill my order? Brutal. Emailed them back, removed myself from their email list and never again will I give them a second chance.
Terrible service.
I have ordered to many times over the last 4 years from this company and constantly give them a second chance but I'm done. Products say in stock but still take 2+ months to show up, product often shows up looking nothing like the picture, expect to wait weeks to get any response from them if you do at all and if your order actually shows up it will most likely be missing something. Not worth the money or the time. This company isn't new but they use that as an excuse to offer terrible customer service. They'll use the excuse that your item was a "pre order" so they don't have to take responsibility for the awful shipping times even when it clearly says in stock on the website and no mention of a "pre order". There are so many better boutiques out there to support that actually care about their customers and quality of product. Save your money and shop somewhere else!

-ordered BOGO Nov 27th, received confirmation of order through email
-Nov 30 received shipping confirmation
- Dec 10 still hadnt received package, emailed for tracking number just to follow shipping ( Xmas time, figured it might be taking longer)
- received email back, was told my shipment was voided due to unsatisfactory product they had received but it would be shipping in the next few days ( not a problem at this point)
- never received shipping confirmation
-Dec 27- emailed again asking what happened to order, no excuse this time just that order would ship in couple of days. Voiced my dissatisfaction of lack of customer service, very politely I might add, received email back thanking for feedback and that new processes are being put in place.
- is now 8 business days later and still no shipping confirmation or contact from company. Emailed asking how I go about cancelling or getting refunded, that was 2 days ago and still no response
I wont bash the company or her, but as a first time customer of theirs it will be my first and last order from them. All I ask is to be kept informed of what is happening and the reason behind the delay with my order since they already have my money.
Customers understand that sometimes delays come up, but its her responsibility to handle this better. And from the sounds of these reviews its not getting any better.
I have been shopping with Obv for some time now, actually more then 90% of my closet is filled with Daisy Mae. My clothing has always been great quality, it always fits well, & i always get tons of compliments. Their prices are great, their customer service has always gotten back to my emails and answered my questions. Sure, sometimes there is a bit of a wait for items to ship - but this is not unheard of when it comes to dealing with pre-order items on any online store. Obviously Chic is a growing company and like anything that is new, it comes with hiccups and a learning process. The owner Jess, is super sweet & kind. I am actually so surprised at all the negative things written on these reviews, because this has never been my experience at all. I will continue to stand behind her company & purchase her items.
If I could give less then one star I would. SAVE YOUR MONEY! This company has the worst hit or miss quality and customer service I have ever seen.
Ill hit the high notes:
-Hoodie was falling apart when I received it. Was told I couldnt return it unless I returned every item in the order which I didnt want to do
-Ordered items in November (before I had received my previous order with the falling apart hoodie) was for a Christmas gift. I was promised twice I would have the items before Christmas. Then I was promised they would ship boxing week, then I was promised Dec 29 it would ship in a few days Fast forward to Jan 3 and still no shipment. They wont reapond to my emails requesting a cancellation of my order. They have the same items I am waiting for posted on FB right now saying in stock and ready to ship. Also said all shipments of those items have gone out which is obviously a total lie as mine have not.
-They delete any remotely negative comment or question on their FB page and they do not have the reviews feature turned on.
-They have a pretty awful rating (C+) with the BBB
-They lead you to believe they are 100% Canadian but everything is made in China.
In summary: The quality is a crap shoot, they lie about shipping timelines and they will not take back items that are defective.
DO NOT SHOP HERE!
**Updated** They emailed me back and said they cant cancel my order because it is shipping. It clearly hasnt shipped yet so in my opinion this is just another excuse. I am giving them until the end of next week and then filing a claim with PayPal.
I used to love ordering from this shop. I even bought their items locally at TR Petroleum until they ruined it for me.
I purchased the pleather leggings which arrived a month later, which i was fine with. BUT they came in the wrong size. When my second order arrived one item was fine but the second was completely the wrong item.
I reached out via instagram direct message. No reply. Via comments... no reply. Then i tried to reach out via the website with again no reply.
My comments were also deleted.
You can take my money countless times but not help to correct your mistakes? Pretty poor manner.
I ordered a shirt and pants in September of this year. After waiting past the shipping date posted on the site I emailed asking when they would be shipping, was told in the next week. Followed up again over two weeks later, was told again in a week. Finally received an email with my tracking information. Received the package and was excited to finally get my order! Open the package and it is only half of the order with a note saying my pants will ship separately. Again I waited before following up but I finally send an email asking when I will be seeing them and expressing my disappointment that they wouldn't have let me know when I had followed up with them previously multiple times. They responded and advised they would be shipping in the next week. It has now been over a week and I have not received shipping information or any update from them. I wish I would have seen the reviews on this site before ordering. Very disappointed.
Never ordering from this company again. Ordered items in September and just received them in December. Horrible customer service.
I didnt want to write a bad review but Ive had it with this boutique! I ordered a top in the summer (beginning of July). Beginning of August I still had not received it so I emailed and they said it was still on back order (I received the other top I ordered quickly but not the tank). Still no tank top at the end of August/beginning of September so I said summer is over now and would like a refund which she did send me.
In October she posted a sweater that I wanted and even though it said preorder and wouldnt ship until November 25th, I ordered because I couldnt find this sweater anywhere else. Well its december 14th and still NO sweater or even a ship notice. I have emailed and they said they will ship in a week and this was now over a week ago.
Lady get your business together. You have cute clothes and all but maybe hire some more help since you cant seem to do it on your own. And quit posting preorders before you have the item in your hands since you dont even know if youll get them or not.
Im giving her a week and if I dont get a shipping notice, I want a refund. This is ridiculous! I have friends who have had issues with this boutique as well and will not order anymore. Add me to that list too!
I ordered on Nov 21st. I read my item, "great mom sweater", ships Dec 1st. So, I thought not a big deal. But, when I went to the check order... says order confirmed and all my information. I sent an email, AND posted on their Facebook page, stating I have unanswered email. I received an email immediately. Said I ordered a pre order item, and it'll be shipped next week. So, if I don't get by the 22nd... it was a pointless order, as it's a Christmas present! I thought I'd have it by Dec 7th at the latest... because I'm in Canada! After seeing these other reviews in so glad I only purchased one. It's not even on their webpage anymore either, yet there advertised on fb, Buy1, get 1 item free. Good luck everyone. Mine better ship out Dec 11,2017! That's 10 days after the original date that was posted with item, when I purchased.
Do yourself a favour and just dont order from this company. They appear legit and friendly but you will wait months for your order to arrive while being told a bunch of bs. They get 1 star only because I actually recevied a refund after 2 months of lies.
Buyer beware. Ordered 2 scarves on Nov 8/17. The website states 3-5 business days to process then 3-7 to ship via Canada post. No shipping as of Nov 15 (5 business days later) so I emailed to ensure my order was good and no issues, as they took my money Nov 8. They replied all is good and my order will ship in the next few days. Followed up Nov 20 as still no update or tracking. They replied that in busy season processing takes longer (this is not stated in the shipping section of their website). Also said again my order will ship in the next few days. Fair enough. Followed up again on Nov 23rd ( a few days later) as still nothing. Was advised they are a small company and working as fast as they can and if I wasnt satisfied I could cancel my order. Thats the last Ive heard after 2 follow ups Nov 23 and again on the 27. I understand they are a small company and it could take longer to ship. All I am asking from them is some sort of update as to why my product is delayed, and they have been very unhelpful in this regard. Its unfortunate when you want to shop within Canada, at a company that appears to have trendy quality clothes, but they cant meet their end of the agreement. If you cant meet deadlines, dont publish them on your website. If you customers have questions, answer them. Hearing itll ship in a few days over and over again isnt a solution. I was really looking forward to getting these scarves, and now I don't know if I will ever receive them.

No communication regarding these products being pre order, not from the confirmation email, the various emails with customer service OR any advertisement on any social media platform about the scarves in early November, but apparently that is the reason for the delay. Please be advised if you order from this company, do your research, and expect huge delays.
I placed two orders with this company when they were having a buy one get one half sale. The first order I placed was at the end of August and I didnt get it until early November (arrived separately about a week apart) and the second order I did I placed early September and just got it. I understand they were pre orders but it was rather silly to wait that long ( considering it said it would ship early October) Also my second package only had one item in it and she wrote ran out of stock and refunded. She did refund me for the shirt but how does a pre order go out of stock? And I was not notified until 2 months later! The service is not great and when you email her she blames everything but herself. I could be patient about how long it took but what I am most upset about is not being notified that the shirt I ordered over two months ago is out of stock and Im not getting it without being notified. Very upsetting!
I wish I read these reviews before placing two orders! What a joke! And don't lie saying that you empower women! I work in a law firm full of truly empowered women who don't manipulate their clients! I have told all of them to never order from you and hopefully they tell more women, who will hopefully tell even more women. You lied about being a local company as well, you make it seem like your products are made here, not in China. Horrible business practices. I ordered October 13-14th. Was told shipping was early November. They said there is a delay and they will be shipped within ten days. Tomorrow is 10 days! Still no tracking number sent to me and the horrible woman wrote in her email "thanks for your patience". Um, no! My patience has been worn thin! You lied about your products! Where they are made! Where and When they are shipped and you are a disgusting human being. If my order is not in by Monday I want a refund! A full refund! And if my jackets don't ship on the 25th (which I am sure they won't) I want those refunded as well.

I purchased from Obviously Chic for the first time Oct 8/17. I ordered two scarves for their Bogo event, one of which was a birthday gift for a friend. After several weeks with no update to my order, I emailed them. Oct 23 I got a reply that my order should ship in the next few days and they had an issue with their factory abroad. (I was not aware the products were imported from overseas, I was led to believe they dealt local- do your research!)
Oct 30 I received my order only to find they had Mis- shipped one of the scarves. I immediately emailed them to advise. No reply. Messaged on Facebook, got an auto reply that said to email them. Emailed again Nov 2. No reply.
Finally, today, Nov 7/17 I received a refund via PayPal. 4 hours later I got an email advising me of the credit. They are not taking the wrong scarf back, nor are they shipping me the right scarf. No conversation, no fixing the mistake and now I dont have the gift, so am headed out shopping which is what I was trying to avoid last minute!
I work in retail sales and customer service myself. I would never dream of treating my customers like this. If you make a mistake you offer a solution- you dont tell the customer what they will accept. I was so disappointed. I had heard mixed reviews from friends but I love the scarves. So I took a chance. Lesson learned. I will not recommended them to anyone. And they dont allow negative reviews on their site or FB page which in itself is telling.
Perhaps suspending the pop-up stores, or suspending online sales until their processes are better would be a good idea before they lose all reputation and customer base.
Not a good first experience at all. Two thumbs down.

I am somewhat amused to find I received a reply within 24 hours to my negative review here, yet it took almost a week and several emails to receive any response regarding the mis-shipped item. I would like to make the point that contrary to the reply to my review, I did NOT, at any point in my emails to Obv Chic, ask for a refund. I specifically asked what they would like done, and when my correct item would ship. I suggested I could return the incorrect item, or I would be willing to purchase it at the BOGO rate to save them the return shipping. I wanted the scarf I ordered, and asked when it would be shipped.

I preordered during the BOGO blanket scarf sale. My order never shipped on time now my tracking hasn't updated in over a week. They give vague responses and they state 3-7 days shipping time but I'm going on 7 business days with no answer as to where my order is or why the tracking has not updated. They said they would check the warehouse after telling me to call Canada post. Canada post told me to get them to call and start an investigation. I emailed stating that and they replied with we will check with our warehouse and I have yet to get a response. I emailed asking for a refund for shipping and their response was we don't offer refunds for shipping at this time. I did not pay for shipping to be $#*!ed around and not given the time of day for product I already paid for and have not received. I ordered about a month ago and pre order ship date was oct. 14th. No product and no answers and refusal of refund. SO DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE.
Answer: They seemed legit but never gave me a refund on a tank top I ordered. It's been a year I'm still trying to get my money back! Do not buy anything from this company!
Answer: Don't buy from this company if you try to get a refund you won't get it! I've tried for over a year trying to get a refund on a tank top I never received and there is no actual person you can talk too only email which is convenient for them to just give stock answers and not provide services. Don't buy with them!
