I am appalled it's over a year since my move and Moving Help is saying they won't refund the $ I paid to the person whom I was afraid of that came to move me. U-haul also is not wanting to assume responsibility for all of my broken and stolen belongings. Proceed with cation. Neither company wants to assume responsibility for their poor vetting of resources that they recommended.
Do NOT use this service! I hired movers and they never showed up! I emailed the company and told them. They responded that I'd get a refund and I didn't. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I give them a - 5 star review.
We hired 2 workers through Movinghelp.com from a company named Papa Bear Movers, Shalotte NC for 4 hours. The men were one half hour late, we did not know that the one young man just started working that day. Loading was fine, the move was to our new home 5 minutes from where we loaded the truck. The one man was very experienced but the young man was useless. He did not have the strength to lift much. My 70 yr old husband, his older brother and my son had to help bring our headboard upstairs over our outside railing. The two men struggled to get our dresser upstairs and scraped the edges of it taking off the stain. The stair landing wall was damaged in quite a few areas. The experienced man returned that night with some others and spackled the damaged wall and said they would return to sand and paint and fix our dresser. We have never heard from them again. Papa Bear Movers should have had two experienced movers and had the younger man help. Papa Bear Movers and MovingHelp dropped the ball on this one. I doubt they care though, U Haul should not be recommending this company.
This service is horrible, don't bother. They don't even manage the movers. They't even give me a proper refund. It's overpriced and customer service is essentially non-existent.
I heard of Movinghelp.com through Uhaul so I figured they were reputable. I reserved my truck through Uhual and booked a couple guys to help me through a link on Uhaul's website. I had to move my appt by a week so when the guys showed up they told me that the reservation for the help didn't go through so I had to pay him cash because he wouldn't get paid otherwise and he'd leave. I paid him $500 because he gave me a sob story about how his Mom was affected by the hurricane in the Caribbean, her house doesn't have a roof, blah, blah, blah. I just opened my CC statement and guess what I have a charge for the full amount ($305). Shame on me for not checking the story before I paid him but shame on Uhual for representing these crooks. I went to the Uhual branch and they said they are not affiliated with Movinghelp.com and can't help me but that's BS. If there's a link on the Uhual website they are getting a cut of the fees.
Extremely reliable, great communication, friendly and hard working! I would definitely use them again.
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS WEBSITE. Last week I booked 2 helpers from this website (company is called 5 star movers) and called to confirm the time and place like 3 times with them. On the day they never showed up and called them about 10 times and they never answered the phone and left me hanging and I had to move everything by myself. The next day they immediately cancelled my order so I cannot leave any bad review on their website. Dont waste your time here. Very bad service.
I scheduled my moving two and a half weeks in advance, confirmed and double checked the availability by phone and email, called the guy the day before to make sure everything was going ok. Dash answered the phone and said I was all set and then, at 10 am the next day when I was signing the papers for a truck rental that idiot called me saying that he didn't remember about another scheduled job for the same day and the same time. I was in panic! How can these people be so irresponsible? They charged my account on the same day I booked the moving and then this happened. Mother&^%$! Fortunately., I found these guys from movingdmv.com who did a magnificent job for a very reasonable price. Otherwise, It would have cost me hundreds more. First time, 3 years ago, the movers just plain didnt show up. It was July 3 and apparently they wanted a longer weekend? Anyway, that meant that my wife and I had to do the loading and unloading ourselves on July 4. At least we got a refund...
This time, I made my booking online, they ran my credit card for $430, and nobody called me, or sent a confirmation, or anything! They have no customer service, so I called Uhaul, since I booked on their site. They said they have nothing to do with movinghelp.com, but i know thats not entirely correct, since my same Uhaul account login gets me to movinghelp for some reason. Anyway, a couple days later, as I was wondering how Im ever going to contact someone about a refund, the charge mysteriously disappeared off my credit card statement. It had shown up as pending for a couple days, then gone. I guess I got lucky?
Anyway, they are a scam. Stay away...
I booked two movers through the link on the uhaul.com website. Movinghelp.com removed the full cost of BOTH of the movers, but gave me a receipt with only one of the services credited to my account showing that I had also only paid for one of the services. I filed a dispute with my bank when I couldn't reach anyone at movinghelp.com and was given the money back for the second set of movers. The day before my move, I checked my online reservation for the first set of movers to find that movinghelp.com had CANCELLED them and kept the money. I called the movers who were willing to put me back on their schedule pending another payment since they had not been paid. I've had to open ANOTHER dispute with my bank since they kept the money after cancelling the order. Worst company I have ever worked with and will never recommend them or work with them again.
I am moving tomorrow, and scheduled someone to come out at 12:30, however
They said they could not come out due to an extended appt. I have been waiting for close to an hour. After waiting I went online as suggested by the company and did not get anyone. I am so disgusted and frustrated. DO NOT USE EMOVERS.COM
How this company is still able to be in business is beyond me. Dont try to contact their online help text, or through phone as they dont like to accept responsibility for their actions, even after explaining that youre not afraid to bring council into a dispute. Please I beg you dont go through the hassle that I have. While the individual movers themselves were nice and courteous, the corporation is a total scam and takes 15% of every dollar their labors earn. Again if you try to contact them you will be sent into a total loop as they frustrate you to hanging up and not actually having any of your issues resolved. I will be contacting every local U-Haul, moving company in my area that uses them to advice them what has happened and that they should advise their patrons not to use them.
This company is terrible! Do not use them. What was supposed to be a simple move less than 1 mile away (one-bedroom apartment) everything boxed ended up being 3+ hours with 2 men and one acted like he had never picked up a box in his life or where the top end was! They charged my account 'willy nilly' amounts for the extra hours that I didn't approve. I am in the process of getting that rectified. They tore my (once good) sofa on the arm and flipped a box upside down and ruined a rain jacket I had in there. Everyone here is giving bad news - it's not just me.
I do have to say, this is the 3rd time I've ordered movers through this company. I had booked my movers and they didnt show up. I called the company to see what was going on. After being on hold for an HOUR, I finally got through to someone whom only then, an hour and a half after my movers were to show up and booked/confirmed ( I received the test to pay them) was told that the company was no longer with them. In the time being, while on hold I was able to get in touch with the actual movers and was told they were kicked out from Moving Help and they didnt have access to the website schedule. Regardless, TERRRIBLE COMMUNICATION. Not only did I have to round up last minute help and move myself, I was told it would take 5-7 days to get my money back. They did refund me essentially right away, but that's it. I am so disgusted with this company. I tried to arrange for other movers but of course they told me the price was DOUBLED because it was last minute. I had booked well in advance. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION!
Trying to turn a one day rental into a week uhaul made me feel as if i stloe the truck with no intentions of paying atall the card i put down was my sisters and uhaul took over three hundred dollars out of my sisters account i tried daily to talt to customers service and no one ever came on the phone to arange a new card profile i started renting on the 25th and it is now the 29th we rent a truck from you almost evey week for the blast ten weeks and would not consider using uhaul for our needs ever again
This process does not allow for refunding unused hours! So, underestimate the hours you need! Very crappy to do business, not the local movers fault, just crappy site. U haul should not do business this way! I recommend you find the movers through Moving Help, then contract with them outside the crappy service site.
If you have any questions, you'll always get the same answer: you'll have to discuss that with your service provider. But there's no company name given for the service provider, only the contact for the actual movers. So when our movers arrived 30 mins late, they stayed an extra 30 mins over the two hour period we paid for, they claimed we had to pay in cash for travel and an extra HOUR. They claimed it was $195 per person (with two movers) and literally followed me to the ATM to get the money out before they would leave. I contacted movinghelp.com via chat and was basically told it was between me and the movers who clearly ripped me off and I had no choice but to pay them because they wouldn't leave. Go with anyone other than movinghelp. They're absolutely worthless.
If you ever have a problem with the movers or your reservation, there is no one that will help. Once you pay them online they have no reps to help with any problems that may arise, be it on your end or the movers that you contracted out with. DO NOT USE THIS SITE unless it is to find the name of a mover and book them directly after doing a quick internet search for there phone number.
We were moving to our new house when the scheduled mover cancelled. The buyers for our older house needed to move in NOW! Jake at UHAUL (14 Mile and Ryan) put us in contact with McCord Home Improvement. Montel McCord, *******731, answered our 10 PM call and, if we got the truck, he would bring the people. We did, he did. He was there the next day with two movers and they worked solid for essentially three days. They were polite, hard working, and never slowed down. Thanks to them we were able to get out on time and in to our new home. They saved the day. If we move again, they will be the first people we call.
Tried to schedule a move... got to the end of the process to enter credit card info. Did exactly what was required but the site said there was a mismatch of some kind and would not let me complete process. This is a card that I have used for 20 years with the same billing information. All they told me to do was check with my bank. Ridiculous when the problem is clearly with the website. It would at least help if it gave me a clue what it didn't like... but no. Tried 2 different cards with same results. Customer service was highly condescending and treated me like an idiot. I am a web-page designer and Software Engineer... I answered all what I knew would be their questions and their response was as though they did not EVEN read my email asking for help... NOT recommended. Process on-line is impossible.
Answer: Do not use these people. They don't care if they ruin your furniture. They are very inexperienced, and are a total rip off! Don't believe what you read about them on MovingHelp, that's completely false!
Answer: A good moving company is Almighty Movers. I used them before and they are professional, did a great job, and do not overcharge. I about to move again, and will be using them again for sure! You can count on them for help.
Answer: Run do not use this websight they will rip you off and there is no one to talk to never see your money back.
