Ordered 8 11x14 frames. Box arrived rattling with broken glass inside. Spent over 20 minutes waiting for someone to respond to the on-line "Chat", gave up and spent another 30 minutes waiting for someone to answer the customer service phone number and provide an RMA so I could return. Two weeks later the replacement items arrived ALSO BROKEN and full of loose glass. Boxes were not marked in any way as Fragile or Glass, and packing was a thin cellulose wrap! No way is glass gonna make it through unbroken when shipped like that. Buyer beware. This was a total waste of time and now I have to drive an hour to a store to return so this time I can pick up unbroken replacements in the store.

A sign hung above one of the colors of the RSTN Wood Stain Markers - above one only_ I believe the walnut - it was not above the other RSTN Wood Stain Markers were marked 8.49 other than this sign the walnut one did not show a price. The sign as you see says RSTN Wood Stain Markers - it does not specify color so I thought all colors were on sale as the sign you have in your store clearly indicates. The cashier had a price check done and told me they were 8.49 and she told me "the sign said walnut" I can read, Iyou can read, you can see the sign does not say walnut so as you know she purposely gave a customer wrong information or another way to put it would be that she intentionally lied to a customer. Michael is the head manager apparently and he was the one who gave her this information and he also told that the sign says walnut, so I should know the sale is only for walnut. Once again I can read and if you can read you can see the sign does not say walnut, Again, please read the sign it does not specify any color. It says RSTN Wood Stain Markers Clearance original $8.49 Now: 4.97 Michael raised his voice to me and was very rude and refused to acknowledge that the sign was confusing, keep in mind he sees words in the sign that are not on the sign such as walnut and only walnut. He also said that it was disgusting of me to question the price - keep in mind the sign says RSTN Wood Stain Markers which does clearly indicate all RSTN Wood Stain Markers. He walked back to the register in front of me saying "I am a man." that is a direct quote. Other customers heard him. So apparently he does not believe women have a right to ask about pricing in his store. As you can clearly see there was no attempt to provide customer service by any stretch of the definition of what that term means.

The item is beautiful and much bigger than I expected it to be but it did come damaged I had to glue what I could and throw the rest of the pieces in the trash. Could wrap items better before shipping them and mark the packaging fragile.

I made a purchase online from Michaels for 15 by the time I was ready to check out the total came to 23.27 a huge difference from starting at 15 dollars it is shipped from Michaels locally shipping was still expensive plus tax I should have listened to my first instinct and left the site after seeing how the price went up higher than expected also after placing my order 4 days after my purchase was still pending with no contact from the store so I called the online store number wanting to cancel since my order was still pending on my PayPal an also since I found a way better price online elsewhere of a similar item. When I called I was on hold for about 20 minutes due to high call volumes I figure probably other angry customers calling in Perhaps. Finally, someone answered the phone to refuse to cancel my order because they only cancel an hour after payment and that my order will be shipped out the next week and they were sorry for the inconvenience but didn't really seem too sorry to me. Lesson learned I will never make another purchase online from this store again. Too greedy natured plus to slow shipping after payment of high shipment rate should be much faster than almost two weeks especially when being shipped locally. Next time id rather go to the store personally hopefully I have a more positive experience, update just saw the same item that I paid 15 relisted for 8.80. While15 was supposed to be a door buster sale advertised with a discount coupon that wasn't active when I tried using it that was a fake advertisement im guessing to pull customers in. I'm not really happy with the experience I had with this online store very bad first impression aswell unattentive with online customers

MY WIFE ORDERED WEDDING INVITATIONS ON 7/31/2019 WE HAVE NOT HEARD A DAM THING FROM MICHAELS SO WE CALLED THEM ON THURSDAY 8/14/2019 AND THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 24-48 HOURS TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. SO WE CALLED ON MONDAY MONDAY 8/19/2019 AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD CONTACTED THE VENDOR WITH NO RESPONSE AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL US WITH AN UPDATED. NO RETURN CALL HAPPEN AGAIN. WE CALLED ON 8/20/2019 AND THEY SAID THE INVITATIONS HAD BEEN MAILED BUT W/O A TRACKING NUMBER. SO WE CALLED TODAY BUT THEY ARE STATING THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO GET A TRACKING NUMBER AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL US BACK. NO SUCH CALL HAPPENED SO I CALLED AND WANTED TO TALK TO A MANAGER AND THEY REFUSED TO PASS ME TO ONE. SO FAR WE HAVE SPOKEN TO CHRIS TWICE, DEBRA. CRYSTAL AND FATIMA.

So the new things Michaels is to only offer a decent coupon if you order online. I don; t know why it has to be this way because they let you pick up the order in the store to avoid shipping cost which I did. But I would PREFER to pick out my own stuff and look at the products if I have to go into the store anyway. But 35% off was my motivation However, I waited a day and I wanted my stuff and I had not heard "it was ready for pick-up". So I checked their website for order status.it said "Order details are temporarily unavailable for orders placed before March 19th, 2019. Please check back later or call Customer Care at *******047 for assistance. We apologize for the inconvenience." Guess what. That 800 number doesn't work! And the recording says so. Also my order was well AFTER March 19th so what's the problem? Are they dumb or what? This is on your website! I went to the store and my stuff was ready. The employee said you have to call 800 Michael to complain about them and I did. (They hate the in store pick-ups too, btw.) The numbers you press in their menus don't work! They say press * and when you do, it doesn't work. What a messed up company!

What a rip off, pull up a 40% coupo on the phone, get to the register and they say it's not our product so we can't give you the discount. So it's in your store, what is it on consignment or what? Now I see a 55 and older coupon... same rules apply? HOBBY LOBBY doesn't pull those tricks.

Cold cashier

Usually love any hobby store, this one in Olathe KS clean, arranged beautifully, great sales... till you ask the cashier (who has no one in line-dead first thing Saturday a.m.)l July 20th) how much an item is and you have the tag. She says nothing, no smile, scans it, tells me the price. Ok. I walk away try out another chair, then find the one I'm interested in has it's legs held with a zip tie. No model like the others. I carry it up and ask if she could possibly cut the tie off or could someone do so so I can sit in it to try out. She sighs loudly with impatience, scans it, and tells me the price. Miffed at this point id still like to buy two of them for my son for his first apartment. I choose two, still no one in line, pull them up to register, realize the tags is low. Ask if she can reach and tell her I could hold the scanner for her? She says no, still no hello or smile, and that I need to lift the chair up for her to scan. Seriously? My friend yanks the lower tag off and hands it to her. Too many strikes. You represent the store lady... Won't return.

Attempted to purchase a gift card for mother's day. The process went somewhat as expected in the beginning accept the entry error that clears out all your information to re-enter. I did and received a confirmation for the gift card. Another email sent showed an invoice. All good, right? The next day and email showed up "customer service is our priority" "Unfortunately we are unable to process your request at this time" Huh? No reason given. My card was debited of course. Did you run out of electronic gift cards? I cannot get back the 30 minutes of my life you completely wasted.

I purchased almost $400.00 for Artist's Loft wrapped canvases. They were shrink wrapped an you could not see the corners. As a professional artist and teacher I was flummoxed at the canvases. They were plastic not cotton duck and the corners were not wrapped but cut. I contacted the store and customer service providing them with sales slip and pictures of what was a number of defective canvases. (Paint on an easel slips off plastic and corners could not be repaired. CORPORATE GREEDI was offered a $25.00 gift certificate! Wow! This corporation does not care that they knowingly sell a defective product!

I had an authentic papyrus paper from Egypt and went to multiple stores to have a custom frame but none was helpful. At Michaels they took care of this in a short time and they prices are very reasonable. I was helped by an exceptional diligent professional here, her name is Natalie.

Michaels marks up their merchandise at least 300% so do not buy something without a coupon if you can help it. The website has improved but it is still hard to search since it pulls up every like item even if it is not relevant so you may have to go thru many pages just to find what you are looking for. They do run a promotion pretty often that if you buy something online and pick up in the store you get 40% off your total online in store pickup purchase. The only draw back is if they have a item that is the same item but comes in different colors you cannot buy online and have to contact the store for availability. So you end up paying full price unless you have a coupon. I would use Michaels more if they lowered their prices and did away with their coupons. Also their loyalty program doesn't get you anything for the amount of money you spend other than some coupons.

This store is incredible. I shop his often to get those odds and ends you can't find anywhere else. You can create necklaces and other trinkets you love the best. I would recommend this store or site to anyone.

I've ordered from Michaels online 3 times. The first items arrived broken due to lack of packaging. The second was terrible quality, not as described. The third was partially refunded due to items being out of stock, and I had to jump through hoops to cancel the rest because the items were all for a special project and having only part of them was useless. The orders were refunded via e-gift cards instead of the original form of payment, as promised. The cards DO NOT WORK - either online or in-store. I have talked to 4-5 people on the phone, online, and in-store - wasting hours of time. Suffice to say, my money is gone and they don't care. I will never shop there again.

BUYER BEWARE

So I got an advert regarding some of Michael's Halloween items only available online. Placed an order north of $50 and anxiously awaited its arrival.

Unless you're ordering bells, a package should not make that tinkling sound when it arrives...

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to package things for shipping - OR DOES IT?
Opened my anxiously awaited package to find NOT A SINGLE FLAKE, OUNCE, WHISPER OF PACKING MATERIAL and everything shattered - BECAUSE THAT'S HOW THAT $#*! WORKS!

Once I tucked my attitude safely away, I phoned customer service who were very helpful and offered to resend the package WITH EXPLICIT INSTRUCTIONS TO USE SOME SORT OF FILLER/PACKING. I got a follow up phone call AND an email letting me know the special instructions were applied, apologies, etc.

Box showed up yesterday. (pause as to not type expletives)... MOTHERFU@#$ THEY REPEATED THE SAME ACTIONS! NO PACKING MATERIAL AND ALL RESIN ITEMS SHATTERED! ARE YOU PUNKING ME AT THIS POINT?!

I got a full refund. But I will N E V E R do business with Michaels online ever again.
I hope someone with power inside the organization reads this and educates the shipping department because they're hurting your bottom line.

I would like to say that I am an artist, but it's more accurate to say that I'm trying to be one. I actually think I find more joy in discovering awesome artistic tools than making anything with them! That being said, Michael's is my favorite store to seek these tools out. I'm especially fond of their clearance section, as I can typically find items for sale that I typically would not consider at their retail price. They have a really great selection, and the stores are very clean and organized. Also, they have great sales and offer some great coupons to help me save money (or more frequently, to help me buy more things!). I still do shop at other craft/hobby stores, but Michael's is the one I look forward to visit most.

Last month I placed an online order to pick up items in store. I received a confirmation email that said once my order is ready I will get another email with pick up instructions. A few weeks late I had never received that email so I contacted customer service via the online live chat option. The woman informed me that my order had been cancelled because I never picked it up. I informed her that I never received a pick-up email so she told me she resent the order and another confirmation email. I then went to the Ann Arbor-Arborland store with my email where they told me they never received my order, so the clueless manager called customer service herself and they said that the order had been cancelled again. So I had go around the store BY MYSELF to find the items I ordered. NOW comes the amazing part, the canvases I ordered were out of stock! I brought this to the attention of the manager and she LAUGHED at me saying, "Oh yeah, those are popular, I actually had a lady in here a couple days ago looking for them too!" So I replied, "Well I ordered them a month ago!" and stormed out of the store. I then called customer service again and they were no help, so I went to the Michael's website and found another store with the canvases in stock so I placed another online order, only to get another notification that my order was once again cancelled because the canvases are out of stock. FINALLY, with my THIRD online order I found the items I needed at a THIRD store in Southgate, MI (that was more than kind and went beyond my expectations of customer service). I am livid with my experience and the incompetence of Michael's staff. I ordered the items a month in advance and there was no reason I had to scramble all the way until a day before my event to find the items I needed. The website and online order system has so many flaws and no one in the Michael's company clearly communicates with each other. I was more than gracious and more than patient throughout my experience, but to put a customer through all this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I love the products from Michael's but this experience has me questioning whether I will purchase items through them again.

Not great selection for painters, sculptors, or really any fine artists. Doesn't mean crafting or decorating isn't as good as "fine" art, but it's just true. And their prices are WAY too high for most products I ever purchase there. That includes paper, markers, paints, and brushes. They always have coupons so just have your coupon and craft away. In my experience, always have nice staff and decent stores.

Michaels Steals

I ordered online they billed my account for the entire order.The next day I received an email stating some of my items were cancelled since they didn't have it in stock of course it was the ones the we're on sale how convenient. They still took the money for the entire order and in the EmaIL it said I was not billed for the cancelled items they said to contact my bank. You would think they would reimburse or at least offer store credit as they know it was billed cause in the email it states it may show up on your statement that you paid for the whole order. I know I paid for it all my bank even said that they charged my account for it.DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY ONLINE. I've never shopped Michaels before this and I will never again.
