Ordered a gift from the wedding registry on July 1st for a wedding taking place on August 8th. It is now September 2nd and it has still not shipped. I've lost track of how many emails I've sent to customer service and their responses have been boilerplate bs with no resolution. Their customer service is past the point of terrible to simply non-existent. They don't even deserve one star. I may continue to attend their barn sale as it is great fun with friends but I will never order online again.
Purchased a couple of items about a month ago, emailed them, called 800 number, they refer you to the website... I am about to call bank and dispute transaction. If they are not capable, they should not be in business!

I ordered about $2,000.00 worth of items to decorate a guest bath of our new home. I need ALL the items, after two months and MANY, MANY EMAILS to thier customer service department, on the rare occasion they bother to reply-THEY IN NO WAY ANSWER MY VERY BASIC QUESTIONS! It is infuriating! Thank GOD I put it on a card, I WANT WHAT I ORDERED, but I can always reverse the charges and they can CONTACT ME about getting the dismal amount of items I did receive (they are still in the box and would look laughable using them without the remainder of my order)
I have mixed feelings writing this review. All of the items that I have ordered off of their website have had fulfillment issues. Pillows that were ordered last fall did not arrive until after Christmas. The emails that I wrote to follow up on items took weeks for a reply from customer service. I recently purchased a beautiful lamp during the Barn Sale. I have been waiting for it to go on sale, and it finally did. I paid the sale price of $369.00. This item did arrive fairly quickly, however, in spite of the detailed packaging of the lamp, it arrived damaged. I sent customer service an email requesting a return authorization number. I have not received the RA#, nor have I been notified by customer service. I finally decided to keep the lamp, turning the flawed side toward the wall. Forget about calling them and speaking to a human being! Voice message says they are not staffed due to Covid. I would suggest that they add a statement to their website communicating that their customer service dept. is CLOSED until further notice. Perhaps they can staff their reps for online replies in a more suitable time frame. Oh, I haven't mention that a few little items that I ordered during the Barn Sale have still not shipped. I received an email saying shipment could take another "several weeks". Hopefully, they will arrive by Christmas since they are stocking stuffers! Things are pricey here and one would come to expect that they would provide excellent service. Too bad, as very few reviews are very positive for this store. I do enjoy visiting the store in Aurora, NY when we are in the Ithaca area visiting family, however, do not expect a satisfying experience when ordering on line. Hopefully, they will hire a VP of Customer Service or Guest Experience that can turn things around for them.
So disappointed! I ordered something in May and it still hasn't shipped. I can't even get a response to my email inquiring about the order. I've emailed "customer service" 6 days in a row. At this point, I don't even know if the order is going to ship or not however, the charge has been added to the card. The website says they are available 24/7 - RIGHT
I had to cancel my credit card because they were authorizing my card every few days and tying up my credit. In the mean time I was getting emails 3 weeks after I placed my order that they were out of stock of some items but still were charging my credit card. Customer service is NON EXISTENT. After several messages back & forth because they wont answer phone calls since March due to covid. It is now mid July - youd think they could come up with a plan by now. Today I got a extremely rude call from customer service wanting a new card to charge. After trying to explain to Leslea O about my problem of being charged every few days Leslea O was extremly rude and I cancelled my order and she said No problem. I will NEVER deal with this company again. Total rip-off!
This company has gone down the tubes in the last year. It's a gamble if you will ever receive an item you paid for, get a response from the very few customer service agents they employ, or get a refund on a return. After spending thousands on their website, I will never shop there again. Good operations start at the top. Their executive team needs replacing.
I like MacKenzie Childs whimsical products, however, it is becoming increasingly obvious I have to find another company for unique decor. I have made numerous attempts to contact their customer service during COVID. No response. Customer service at the call center, when calling was available, was equally poor. Mostly rude reps.
Shipping is always delayed. Some products are inferior. There is no opportunity to rate products so caveat emptor applies ALWAYS. Such a pity. I think there are some talented artisans working for MacKenzie Childs. They need to find another company for showcasing their artistic talents.
I have hundreds of dollars of purchases still waiting to be shipped! Orders were place mid of May to the first week of June. I've emailed them for a status on the ship date for my orders and I'm getting the Covid excuse; "due to Covid, your order may be delayed." Well, after reading the previous reviews, this problem existed BEFORE Covid! Why have items on your site that you either don't have in stock or can't/won't ship?! Meanwhile, you have my money and account tied up! Every few days I'm being recharged or charged a different amount! But, still no merchandise! When (if) i finally receive my items that will be the last purchase. BUYER BEWARE: if you plan to shop for Christmas gifts, place your order by August!
I purchased two sets of placements 8 total for my wife as an accessory to other kitchen items recently purchased including a tea pot, wall switches, tea bag canister and tea towels. After two days of use a stain
On one of the placemats ruined the appearance. After speaking to a company staff member and sending a photo of the placement we were told the stain was normal wear and tear. Now for $ 80.00 we expected a lot more durability then two meals worth. After three more calls a representative agreed to credit my credit card account AFTER the item was picked up and returned. 3 weeks now after the agreement and still waiting for pick up or credit. Horrible service from anyone especially from a so called exclusive company.
Time to search for a new company. Rest assured Mackenzie - Childs has seen the last of my orders.
I have a wide variety of their black and white table pieces. They do NOT stand by their products... even if defective. I was so disappointed that they would not replace a chipped pitcher that is always hand washed and only use for flowers. They would not offer a discount to replace it.
All i can say is OMG they have the worst customer service i have a couple of orders with them and some of them took about 2 months to get to me after i called them 1000 times asking about my stuff, this girl RENE is the rudest she almost hung up on me the other day when i called to ask about my order the other customer service lady said "yeah just keep calling everyday to check on your shipping date" WHAT DO U THINK IM FREE TO CHECK ON MY ORDER FOR 2 MONTHS
Call and wait 20 min. And disconnect. Call back and she say they going to refund $ 5 dls I pay $ 159 dls. A call amex and dispute SCAM
These valences cost $100 each! The fabric is cheap and thin. These valences will become sun-bleached in days. In addition, the print is a cheap facsimile of this pricey patterned. I spent the outrageous amount of money believing I would receive a substantial product that would withstand the test of time. Instead, I feel like I have been hoodwinked. I truly wish I had read the reviews here before I bought.
I bought a set of 6 pumpkins spelling out SPOOKY. Looked really cute online, was 1/2 off but still cost 45$. Received and was shocked at how crappy it looked. Dollar store material. Cost me 8$ to send back, won't buy from them again. I gave 2 stars b/c customer service was great.
I have placed my order 13 days ago still not shipped, I called the customer service she said they are backed up. Funny they said the same last time I ordered from them, 2 weeks later it still was not shipped. I get bombarded with emails from MC promoting their line. And when I place an order it takes them forever to ship out. Terrible service.

Answer: Their whole line ---- and I have two households with lots of Mac-Ken products inside and out --- is whimsical, happy, quirky... almost unique. It is NOT quality. Never was... Their products from kitchenware to chairs are for view, not for use. There is no quality in any of it. Just recently, I paid to have their kitchen side fish chair (almost $2K) repaired, my cost, by a furniture restorer here. It's a cute piece but is NOT for daily use. We owned it only two months and are empty nesters in a pandemic --- almost no use. STill, it's not for a large person. We are not large... Their tuffet arrived with one stool leg broken. These are pieces, once only American made, now coming from nearly everywhere else. Still, whimsical if you can get them. But don't order anything that you are not willing to lose the cost. And if it does arrive intact --- a $700 lampshade arrived with its lamp missing --- take care; you may not want to use it. That's the truth. And, again, I have two houses full of merchandise. But I am buying no more... until IF this ever resolves itself. The word is the company is going to fold.
