It is unbelievable, the ridiculous prices they charge for the absolute junk that they pedal!
Any local hometown hardware store has better quality than Lowe's and people that know more about doing anything than the 3 employees per isle at Lowe's walking around with their head up their butt!

NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!
December 3, 2015

It took us 6 weeks to get a simple garage door from our Lowe's store in McDonough, Ga. When my husband first went in to inquire about a new door, he was told it would need to be ordered, and would take about 2 weeks. Well, two weeks later, my husband calls to check the progress and set up an installation date. Guess what---the door hadn't been ordered! He was told someone needed to come and measure, and when they did, they reported back we didn't have an electrical outlet in the garage, we have 2 in the garage. Had they come out to measure, they would have seen them! In the mean time, we received the credit card statement for the door and installation. I called the credit division saying we had not gotten the door installed, and it didn't appear it would be in by the time the payment was due. I also told this person I was not paying for something we had not received. I have the cash, and upon installation, the bill would be paid in full. A few days later, some one from the installation dept called and said they had gotten a report that the new garage door they installed had broken! What? It was still on order, we were told it would not be installed before Thanksgiving at this point. On Tuesday, Dec 1st, I called the credit division again, letting them know it didn't appear that the door would be installed by the due date of the payment (Dec. 5th). I was told I needed to make a payment or we would have a late fee tacked to our account. I said "You don't seem to understand, we don't have the door, and I'm only paying what we were originally charged for". I called the local store, where everything was purchased and scheduled, and talked to someone in customer service who was actually able to help. I told her the story and she said she would talk with the manager and someone would call back. About 15 minutes later, my husband received a call saying that someone would be out today to install the door. I was skeptical, but a nice young man arrived early this afternoon and put up our door and seems to have done a great job. I am just hitting the high spots on this "adventure" as I don't think there is enough space to put down all that transpired. There were many, many phone calls between the store and the installers, and no one knew what was going on. No one was on the same page or the same book! It was very frustrating and unorganized. We will continue to purchase things like paint, hardware, and lawn care items from Lowe's, but NEVER AGAIN will we get anything which has to be installed. We went about 6 weeks without being able to use our garage, which is utterly ridiculous. I will say the only reason we used Lowe's was they were the cheapest of the 3 estimates we got. Let me repeat, NEVER AGAIN!

So glad to have one in our town, but I know they have hurt local appliance retailers as they cannot sell as cheaply. Employees try to be helpful but many know less than I do. Their end of the season sales are excellent. Nice discount for veterans and my husband uses his discount often.

We don't live very far from a Lowe's, so usually, I just use the website to get prices before I have to go hunt the items down in their massive store.

Generally, I find Lowe's to be a bit overpriced compared to competitors on certain items. This is especially true for home needs items like faucets and light fixtures.

Occasionally though, they will have a better deal on an item we need. But I dread going through their website sometimes! Even though I am signed up, I still have to fill out zip code information every time I want to see an individual price. If I am comparing several items, that can be a big headache after awhile.

What I do love about Lowe's is how fast they respond to an order for say, a large appliance, and how friendly the delivery people are. It may be a local thing, but I like how they chat around about home remodeling and DIY while they are installing the appliances. It make sit seem like they enjoy their job and at least know a little bit about what they are doing!

I think the Lowe's website could use some improvement, but you can't beat them for being a one-stop place to get ideas for your home repair needs. Even if you don't buy from them.

COULD be 5-stars.
November 15, 2015

Great products and prices, but they don't care about our veterans. This company has successfully limited the 'veteran pool' by giving a 10% discount ONLY to active duty or veterans with a VETERAN ID CARD, which is now ONLY issued to RETIRED veterans with 20+ years, you don't count, effectively reducing the number of veterans they give a discount to. Even a form DD-214, which PROVES your service, is not good enough! Shame on them for not treating ALL who served the same! They ALL put everything on the line, no matter how long they served! It's WRONG to recognize only a select group just to save a buck!

No place is perfect, but I've never had a problem with Lowes. Their service has always been good, and they've always been willing to work with me when I've been unhappy with something. Of course, I've never had them do a big job or anything, it's just stuff that I buy.

Every body there jumps out to help you. Not hard to find it when you need it. Unlike other homebuilding stores locally.
People are there to help you and not complaining while they are doing it. I like Lowes they got just about everything I need.
And they have a really good gardening section with patios, chairs. Plants, decorations, You name it. They Make you feel like your a part of. Great people

Great Store
October 30, 2015

I like Lowes because of the selection of items it carries. However they are not as helpful as they once were and not friendly at all. I tend to stay with home depot because of their customer service instead of shopping at Lowes. At times though Lowes has the best deal or the product I want so I will go there but again lack of customer service does not make me a constant customer of theirs and I go only when I need to

I brought an attic ladder to make it easy access to my loft space. The opening was a non standard size, I found what I needed at lowes & for a very good price.

Getting the Christmas tree & decorations down from the attic space has been made easier by this sturdy & substantial ladder & we also added a pulley system to lower items down & hoist them up. I would recommend this to anyone with movements difficulty because with 3" runs to climb on its nowhere near as uncomfortable as a standard attic ladder.

Excellent service
October 25, 2015

My washing machine bit the dust after 20 years. None of the stores in our small town sells appliances, and to go shop for one meant driving quite a distance. So I looked at Lowes website, found the same brand, and ordered it from the nearest store, sight unseen. They delivered it and hooked it up the very next day, and hauled the old one off. Couldnt be more pleased!

My wife and I have shopped there for several years, but we've switched to Home Depot.

Overall, the sales staff has been knowledgeable and helpful, BUT, we're sick and tired of listening to messages in SPANISH over the loudspeaker and we're also beyond tired of being hassled at the check-out by having to endure what seems like a 5-minute dissertation on WHY we NEED to have a MY LOWES card.

We explained over and over again that we're JUST NOT INTERESTED in their card and that we're tired of listening to what they have to say, yet, they continue-on with this never-ending speech as though they're deaf to what the customer is telling them about have no interest whatsoever.

NOBODY likes being HARRASSED at the check-out stand!

Very good!
October 20, 2015

We have bought little things from lowes over the years, but no major purchases until recently. We bought a washer and dryer ( one of the smart ones)... The delivery people were nice. They got it all set up and then also showed me how to work it so I didnt have to read the manual that came with it... showed me all the features on it, and even wiped it down before they left so there were no fingerprints on it. Its the touches like that which will make me return.

Time and time again, I go to my local Lowes because it is so close to my home. Time and time again, I walk out with nothing because they don't have what I need - either out of stock or they never carried it How can such a big store be so "empty"?

The employees are helpful enough. The "greeters" are useless - its downright annoying that they waste their time saying "hello" when they might be putting proper price stickers on the stock or doing something else useful. The most helpful ones are those that tell me where I can actually get the item I'm looking for - most often NOT at Lowes.

They offer a "lowest price guarantee". I've never tested that, because if I can get the item cheaper someplace else, why bother going back to Lowes and trying to prove that it's the same item to get the same price?

Sad.

Great merchandise
October 17, 2015

I have found that I enjoy the help that online gives me to find prices of merchandise that they carry in the store. I mainly go online to check before going out and if it is not at the store then online is the way to go. Great site!
