I go to Lowes two or three times a week and I'm not part of a construction business but I buy plants there (total warranty), I buy anything from lightbulb to grout to whatever else my husband needs.

I have been shopping Lowe's since the 1980's. They sure have taken a lot of my money over the years. Let me begin by saying I have read reviews slamming Lowe's customer service. I would say to this that it is really not any different from any other big box store. If you want to shop without being bothered, that can happen. If you need help you simply have to ask for it and it will happen. The employees are just people and like all people, there will be some that help you that you will like better than others. Although people are important there are other things that make Lowe's a great place to shop. So let me move on.
Being a retired service man, I am both appreciative and thankful that Lowe's honors service personnel with a 10% discount if you ask for it. Also, Lowe's store policy is that if you find an advertised price either in print or on line they will match the price PLUS 10%. I have managed to save myself a lot of money using this store policy. They have a very liberal return policy as well.
The stores are bright and modern looking with wide aisles. They have a fantastic selection of products and if you can't find it, they will order it for you and you will have it in a few days. You can also order from their site on line and have it delivered. After you reach a certain threshold, the shipping is free.
The bottom line is that Lowe's is not perfect. Who is? But if you are looking for a customer centric store where you can find almost anything you may be looking for at a competitive price, you should try Lowes.
The customer service at Lowes sucks. I can never find anyone to help me and if I corner some teenager he has no idea what I need. I do better on my own.
The Lowe's in Florida and SW Georgia have all been outstanding in merchandise in the store for purchase along with Customer Service. The Thomasville Georgia store has home and yard needs kept in stock. The plants, trees and flowers are cared for and landscaping area highly maintained. It's obvious employees are trained and well experienced in their different departments. In the Thomasville store;, I've always gotten the service and help I need. The employees never mind helping you load your car up.
I get anxious going into homes stores like this, because I get lost I forget why I'm there in the mist of looking at stuff that Im not suppose to look at it. So over the weekend I take me, my lit of things I need from Lowes, a water bottle, and my oh so loving boyfriend into the void that its house appliances and gardening. Well, we both came out alive and still hydrated. Cant be thankful enough to our local Lowes for having a really organized layout of their store. Great associates in each department in case you need help with something you have no clue about, for example; DIY projects. Yeah! I left lowes with out a panic attack, no battle wounds from my clumsy self, and over all it was a awesome experience shopping there other the weekend. I just wanted to say thanks!
They work you and you do real good. But the time is going to come when you thinking you going to get hired. NO! They hire people like that all the time. This is another company that gets your info and get rich off you. They always hire (notice) Always need people seasonal(notice)And even if you stay for a couple years they will find a way to cut your hours every year hiring time(notice) Company gives no benefits and work like slaves, and then have a night report on how much you made Lowes. And they give you a candy bar or shirt, Wow!
A great business and great place to buy appliances
Appliances... these men that are working there. Are very rude and unhelpful... I wanted to ask a question. They acted like I was bothering them... wanted to sit on their fat asses. And do nothing... I suppose. Then I think they made it a point to give me screwed up directions. Needless to say I had to walk all over that store for nothing... I will not buy there again..
While Lowes online can occasionally have attractive pricing on some products, I've been often less then pleased with the post order results. I've had several occasions where what you order (on the Web site) is not what you get in the store. Despite reporting it, it doesn't seem to get fixed. Wasted many weeks returning items and waiting for replacements only to get the same wrong item again. Store employee's are generally indifferent to Web orders and seemingly almost bothered by having to deal with them. On the plus side they sometimes offer items not otherwise found elsewhere.
We have done business with Lowe's for years. They are reliable, prices are competitive, and their delivery is great! Have no problems with Lowe's.
The fold in the middle is not very good. There is not a lock to hold it open and you can get your fingers pinched. Dose not open up flat and leaves a hump in the middle of it. Lowes is very good about taking items back but we used it so I would not take it back. I would never buy one again
We bought a new Samsung refrigerator at Lowes. We paid for the extended warranty. Just 7 months later it stops working. I called Lowes. They sent out a repairman. He was unable to fix it and ordered a part. A few days later he came back. The part was installed but it still did not work. He advised us that he would have to cut open the seals to replace the condenser and it would possibly leak after that. I gathered up all my receipts that I had from Lowes and went there ready to do battle. They were very nice and professional. They called Samsung and asked about replacing the refrigerator. Samsung said no, they would not replace it and it just had to be repaired. Lowes told us not to worry and that Lowes would take care of it and to go pick out a new refrigerator. They delivered the new refrigerator (not a Samsung) and picked up the old one. Thank you lowes. Your customer service is beyond exceptional.

Answer: If you contract with Lowe's, Lowe's is the general contractor. You signed the contract with Lowe's, not with his subcontracted retailer or installer. Lowe's will try to push the responsibility downstream and require you to take it up with him, but in the end, Lowe's is responsible.
