The store is pretty good for homeowners, not so good for contractors. But the reason for a so-so score is because the online inventory for the physical stores almost never matches what they really have. I've purchased online to try to save time, and when I show up to pick up the order, sometimes as much as 1/3rd is back ordered, even when I show them it was listed as in-stock at that store, they just shrug their shoulders.
Little tip, if you buy online from your local Lowes, call ahead to make sure they have your entire order before you waste a trip. If it's a small order that you don't need right off, just let Lowes online deliver it, save you some frustration.
They always have everything I need. Great company and the employee's where I go seem to want to help!
I was sold my fence installation by Matt at lowes. As a salesman, of course he was friendly and knew his stuff. After signing the contracts us when my trouble begin. They contracted my fence out to All Star fencing who came out and installed the fence in roughly 10 days. I was extremely happy with there productivity until I actually inspected the fence. It was horrible, the spacing between the planks were off by as much as 3 inchs. Some planks spaced 2 inches apart and some 5 Inches apart and one part of my fence that was about 6 inches off in height. Well I understand things happen so I reached to Lowes and Allstars and Allstars attempted to fix the fence 3 TIME'S, HELP! HELP! It still looks bad and I actually need Lowes to come out to my property inspect themselves. PLEASE HELP
We spend a lot of time in Lowes. They have great ideas, great products, good staff & 90% of what I'd like to go buy today!
How can you not love a store that has every kind of renovation need that you could ever want and their prices are competitive
Went to lowes for a kitchen remodel. Ended up paying $75.00. Have not heard from them since. Could have just as well flushed the money down the toilet! Beware of ever doing anything like this, YOU WILL REGRET IT! We went else where for the project.
Have purchased several items from this site. Had some delivered to house, usually larger items, and some picked up at my local store. Usually research what I'm looking for then go to store just to make sure they don't have it before actually ordering. Placing order is easy and the expected delivery date is pretty accurate. Only down side is time it takes when you go to store to pickup an item that has come in. May be specific to my store, not all, but when they process the email I received saying item is in they call someone to bring item to customer service. It quite often takes 10-15 minutes from the call for the item to be brought up front and then I have to sign for receiving the item. Pretty much always ask yourself if your time to pickup in store is worth cost of shipping to your home when placing orders.
So so prices, limited stock at my Lowes. In store customer service is good. Lowes has got to have the worlds worst web site and search engine. First they need to see how the big boys make a great web site/engine and then they need delete the old and totally rewrite a new web site and search engine.

Everyone tends to get frustrated just like we do and end up going to Home depot. They really need to look into improving. We be helpful in generating more sales for them, thats for sure! Very disappointed! Even their store people agree with us.
I went to Lowes to purchase some supplies for our church. When I got to the front desk, I handed them our non-profit paperwork which they refused to accept saying that we weren't a 'real' religion and that they didn't have to recognize us. Well, the Federal Government recognizes us, the State recognizes us and we are exempt from the payment of taxes to either party. That Lowes was insisting we pay those taxes because we are not what they consider to be a 'real religion', is nothing short of bigoted and hateful. Everyone should know who and what this company is. This country is supposed to be based on religious freedom for all religions, not just the ones you like. Thank the Universe that there are other building supply locations who are not so narrow-minded.
Purchased washer and dryer from lowes. Wedidnt like the washer. We took it back and lowes refunded me my money. No problems at all. Even got my rebate promptly after I purchased another washer. Lowes is great to do business with. Great customer service!
I love looking at the latest appliances on the market my mother and I go there for flowers and patio needs. They keep the most reasonably priced patio chairs or individual seating for outdoors.
If you can hunt someone down to help you they seem like they are inconvenienced to stop and attempt to answer you. I say the last 10 times I went there I left and went somewhere else. I don't even bother any more.The only reason I went before was it was easier to get to.
Always find what I need and it's easy to pay and get out! No long lines! Easy to checkout online too! Great business!
We have had the BEST luck buying at Lowes! Just redone our living room in tongue & groove on our walls w/stain and trim $200.00! Alos bought the stainless steel fridge 2 door 1 drawer and freezer drawer was marked at 1/2 price because of cord and hubby gets veterans discount!

Answer: If you contract with Lowe's, Lowe's is the general contractor. You signed the contract with Lowe's, not with his subcontracted retailer or installer. Lowe's will try to push the responsibility downstream and require you to take it up with him, but in the end, Lowe's is responsible.
