Purchased refrigerator/freezer with icemaker. 15 months later icemaker quits. File for extended warranty repair. Lowes says they will send out technician. Appointment is cancelled. Parts are ordered. Parts do not come in. Lowes says they will do a buyout. End of information. People at the store can not help. Called the number for their Assurant Customer Care - they can not find our contract or any information - they tell us they will get back with us in 48 hours. They do not get back with us. Call again. This time they find the contract and say they will get back to us in 48 hours - they do not.
There was a line of eight people at the Lowe's paint department when the employee walked out saying "I've worked for 6 hours I'm going to lunch!" After four calls for help in paint no one came. After 15 additional minutes of waiting we left with no paint! Awful experience and waste of our time!
Take a look at how they delivered my washer. Rescheduled a replacement delivery for a week later... they never showed! Had to reschedule again.
I just want to let people know how wonderful the customer service is! Every time have been to Lowe's it's been a good experience. Lowe's is out of my way, but after trying to find stuff at Fleet, Menards or Home Depot Lowe's always comes through. All other stores never have associates in the department I need something in and if I can find someone they don't know anything about that department. Lowe's associate's are always in their department and usually know everything about it, if not they find out!
We bought the dishwasher from Lowe's online. When it arrived I was surprised that it had water inside. When we went to install it we realized that the frame was mangled and the dishwasher was already used. That's when the nightmare started - we spent hours on the phone, waiting to be transferred from one "specialist" to another and none of them knew anything. They finally initiated the return and designated a day for dishwasher to be picked up. We confirmed that it would be left in our car port and they said a crew will pick it up without us having to be home. On pick up day I got a notification on my phone that the crew is arriving, yet nothing happened - that evening the dishwasher was still in the carport. Multiple calls later, (all with extremely long waiting times), we were told that a person must be present for them to pick up the item. So evidently the "specialist" earlier had no clue what she was talking about. A few days later we were home during the designated 4 hour (!) pick up window and the dishwasher finally left our yard. It's been 11 days since the dishwasher was returned and we still don't have a refund. Another call to customer service (with a 15 minute wait time telling us how important we are to Lowe's, of course) and another "specialist" finally tells me that the refund hasn't been initiated yet; someone will give me a call within 24 hrs and will instruct me on further steps in order for us to receive a refund! What a waste of time, insulting to the customer - they make you jump through hoops in order to get your money back after they sell you a used product as new! Never again I want to deal with Lowe's.
They blatantly do not serve you if they simply do not want to. There is no Respect for the customer in this location. (Specifically at the service desk).
Ordered a ladder online, 2 weeks after, no order pick up email. Just an email saying my order was delayed. Called customer service, waited for 1hour and they told me to call the store Called the store and nobody answered. Tried a dozen of times. Called back customer service, waited in line for another hour and asked for my order to be cancelled. 2 weeks after they finally canceled it. Horrible experience on my first purchase. Never going back to Lowe's. Purchased the same ladder on home depot, got the order pick up email on next morning.
Great service at Lowes when we ordered the Karran Sink. We have it installed and it looks great in our kitchen. We purchased the right item at the right place. Item number is QT-820-GR.
We began our "death march" with Lowe's on February 4,2022, and as of today (November 21,2022), the project is still not completed... with no completion date in sight.
Lowe's is fine if all you need is to buy something off-the-shelf, but I would urge customers to steer=clear of anything involving installation and third-party suppliers; even something as simple as installing window blinds.
Once they get your money (in our case over-$1,000), you're out-of-luck... it's just an endless series of excuse-after-excuse, but the problem never (in our case) never gets solved.
And don't even waste your time trying to navigate through their multiple layers of "Customer Service" reps... the right-hand has no idea of what the left-hand is doing.
Going-on ten months, and our project STILL has not been completed.
This is our first & last time that we'll ever use Lowe's for an in-home project
I must have applied at Lowes five or six times in the last couple of years. With over 30 years of customer service under my belt, I really thought I had a chance. I am beginning to think it has something to do with my age. I just don't get it.
Several months ago we purchased a garage door opener from Lowe's with the understanding that they would have a contractor install it. The date was set and we made sure that we were home to greet them. But it was a, "no show" without any explanation. This happen to us 3 times. When we contacted a manager at Lowe's, we were told that the contractor must have been overbooked. When we contacted Lowe's main office, we were told that they would look into it and get back to us. That was over two weeks ago and we have heard nothing since. Not only did we not receive the garage door installation service, but we we didn't receive any service from Lowe's regarding the matter. No more Lowe's for us!
Do not use Lowes to deliver appliances if you live in the Hoboken or Jesery City area. They send their orders to thier Morristown location, and the drivers they hire don't want to drive up here, so they make excuses and no show. My fridge went out and I had to buy a new one so I chose Lowes as they said they could deliver one by Tuesday. It is hard to be without a fridge with small children. Of course when Tuesday came around they no showed. I tried to call for hours but no one answered or they would answer and hang up to get rid of the call. When I finally go a hold of someone they let me know that Hoboken is a challenge and they will get it to me the next time it was convenient, not the next day. They don't even make good on the customers they screw. Now I have to continue to go without a fridge. If I had known this issue I would have gone with someone else. What a nightmare. They simply don't care.

After 40 years of purchasing from Lowes. We will never shop there again, Lowe's stated their policy to me on call Lowe's.com,
"We have the right to change the price on any product at any time."
Attached is proof of what I experienced the week of September 4-11 2022 when trying to purchase online September 6,2022. While looking to order Vinyl Flooring that had a sale that read ENDS SEPTEMBER 12. Right in front of me the page changed, the Sale price was gone.
Keep in mind this was September 6 and the advertised sale was until September 12 So I called Lowe's.com and they said "We have the right to change the price at any time."
And they could do nothing for me, So I asked my local Lowe's store manager in person. "I have heard of this but I can not do anything to help. It is a Lowe's.com issue. Besides the days I spent stressing over this thinking I had lost my mind with the disappearing Sale price.
This is fraud, sleazy business practice that should never be tolerated. It is a clear to me, modern web practice of Switch And Bate.
One would hope after spending our hard earned money this company would be rich enough to have fair policy's, But no they do not. So help me and yourself to not allow Lowes to continue these horrible policies. We will never spend another dime at Lowes, hope you do the same. Thanks
So my wife and I needed a refrigerator quick, Lowes website claimed we could get one as quickly as 3days. So we bought 1 online. Come to find out the delivery won't be for about 2 weeks. So I called my local Lowe's to cancel the order. I was put on hold 3 separate times, each at leat 15 minutes long of a wait time. Just to be told that since I placed the order online, I'd have to cancel it online. Not only was I not given the option to do that, the online agent that I spoke to told me that I had to speak to their "cancelation team" and they've already left for the day. So after talking to 5 people, 1 of them a manager, I still haven't been able to cancel my order
I ordered a fridge, not knowing Lowe's used a sketchy third party delivery company. The guys coming to my home looked a mess and were very unprofessional. My request for them to wear a mask has led me to still not having a fridge. This is day 3 now of my family's suffering. I asked them to mask up before entering my home, they asked why and told me they didn't have mask on their truck. I told them store was right up the street. They could get some there.
I purchased a door from Lowe's in Hackettstown NJ the manger Linda is extremely rude unprofessional childlike. Linda refusing to listen or resolve my door situation. I contacted Lowe's corporate office with my situation I am waiting for a response. This issue has been going since 2019. I ordered a fiber glass door with privacy glass instead I received a steal door with clear glass with scratches and dents. The door is uneven. The door has been cover with a blanket to prevent weather conditions from coming through. The blanket also covers the clear glass for privacy. A different manager offered me any door i picked out another door. Linda said it was to expensive so i picked a door at the same value of the current door at my home. Linda took the offer off the table and said we already refunded your door. No Linda I was charged for 2 doors. The current door is useless its covered 24/7 since 2019 when is this nightmare going to end? I'm not done! They installed a door to my basement thats uneven. Linda's manger skills should be assessed
I went into Lowe's in Newbury Park, CA to purchase some air conditioner filters. Lowe's offers a bulk discount for buying 4 or more filters ($4 per filter discount off $22), but they only had 3 remaining in the store. At check out, I asked the checker if I could get the discount since they only had 3 filters. The checker said no and when I asked the manager, she also said I needed to buy 4 or more filters. When I said you only have 3 remaining, she still refused to give me the discount. So, I told her I would just go over to Home Depot across the way and buy my filters, and the manager did not seem to care at all. So I went over to Home Depot and was able to buy 4 premium filters for half price or ($10.48 discount per filter that cost about $22 each). I ended up saving $33 at Home Depot and will never shop at Lowe's again. Thank you Lowe's for the great customer service and the savings at Home Depot.
Bought a Frigidaire induction cooktop from Lowes in early August for delivery within a week. After first accepting my credit card during the transaction, they e-mailed me a couple of days later to say that there was an issue with the payment. I had used this credit card both before and after with no issue but had to re-input it and though they now accepted it, it had pushed my delivery out by 3 weeks.
The cooktop finally arrived and I had a third party installer install it only to discover that the unit did not work at all. Lowes came and picked up the defective unit but when I asked about a replacement that model was no longer available so I could by another unit (more expensive) and would have to pay for another install since I hadn't ordered my first install through them. I will get a full refund but I wanted a working cooktop.
End result. Hours on the phone, days, potentially weeks without a working cooktop and I have to pay for another install. Needless to say, I will not be shopping appliances from Lowes ever again.
Just ain't the first time it's happened to me I was 2 days late bringing it back for the 90-day new policy that they have in play I was bringing back $15 worth of tile spacers and the guy says he can do it this is ridiculous I spent thousands of dollars in the store all the time and they're going to lose a good customer over $15 cuz this young man Eric says that's the rules I think they should really redo their policies because they're going to be losing a lot more customers the same thing with their shovels they say hassle-free guarantee the last time I bought a shovel back in here I had to go through three different people and then prove it to him on their website where it's a hassle proof guarantee see they don't even teach their managers to correct things not worth buying stuff from this company you're going to have to have a hassle me and my wife were looking for a refrigerator and a freezer wound up spending $2,500 at Costco's cuz at least I know I get the good good service there I said I wouldn't wouldn't spend my money there even if they did have a better deal my wife agrees with me wholeheartedly

Answer: If you contract with Lowe's, Lowe's is the general contractor. You signed the contract with Lowe's, not with his subcontracted retailer or installer. Lowe's will try to push the responsibility downstream and require you to take it up with him, but in the end, Lowe's is responsible.
