I had a very unique circumstance that anyone with a conscience would forgive. My truck was struck by lightning and even though it was listed as in maintenance it was non running and I missed a calibration period because there was no way to get it calibrated. They insisted that it was a good charge of $40 for missing a calibration. Even though I had no way to do it. The manager was quite rude when I suggested they do the right thing and take the charge off. He insisted that the right thing was to somehow magically get the calibration done, since it was a state requirement even though there was no physical way I could do it. These people suck, stay away

Horrible
September 21, 2020

Horrible customer service. Can never get transferred to a supervisor. Been sending paperwork to them through fax and email for 4 and a half months multiple times a day that they still dont recieve for some reason. Drains battery and alternator constantly then charges for lockout. Brand new battery and alternator twice for both within a year. I also called to let them know my vehicle would be worked on and they didnt put it in the notes so I had to pay lockout again.

Intoxalock
September 16, 2020

Do not use Intoxalock as your interlock system. The system itself is horrible you can't use germ x or even drink energy drinks (which the energy drinks is expected since most of them have sugar alcohol) but I used germ x after shopping for groceries and it locked me out and I was unable to start my vehicle. The only way to try and fix it is calling customer service which I had to wait Ofer a hour for someone to answer (many other people had the same issue) and also they charge you a 75$ fee "plus tax" to have it reset. Also for only 6 months of use they charge you almost 800$ which is higher than most places.

Keep shopping!
September 1, 2020

I had intoxalock in my car for a year... and a bonus three months and two calibrations I was charged for due to Covid. This is a bulky, outdated system that destroyed two batteries in that short time and now my car is in the shop for the second time since removal as they try to figure out the electrical damage that was caused by this unit. It malfunctioned often and average hold time for customer service is ALWAYS an hour or more. When it needs calibrated, it reminds you 2 weeks out so you literally spend half of every month listening to loud beeping and chirping and starting your car is delayed even more while this message flashes incessantly before allowing you to blow. And it's almost as if the rolling retests are so distracting and dangerous by design. Sometimes I'd make it a mile before it was requiring one, which was a bonus, but never drove for more than 5 minutes without one being required. I have literally had to blow 5 times in my 12 mile commute to work. And two times in my trips to the convenience store 1.9 miles away. I knew this wasn't the norm as I knew two other people with other brands of ILLs but of course Intoxalock said not a problem with their system. Bottom line. DO NOT lease this unit.

This place is a joke!
August 30, 2020

Been with them for awhile now and had no issues in the past. When needed to change out battery and what not call them no problem. But trying to get a hold of them now is impossible. So much so I ended up with a major violation because fixed my ignition switch and couldn't get a hold of them. Thanks a lot intoxalock and still can't get a hold of them to get evidence for appeal hearing. Stay away from this place. Just stay away...

This is a scam. I had to sign a year lease to get my truck to run. They held my truck hostage. They also promised to refund my installation fee which they didn't. They don't answer the phone once they know your phone number. I requested THREE CALLBACKS and they never return the call. They also request all kinds of personnal info (arrest case number, BAC etc) before they'll give you a price quote. They lie about the price and don't tell you about added costs. I'm filing a complaint with the WA State Attorney General. If you have the same problems I suggest you do the same in your state.
There is also a phony website called Trustpilot obviously run by them that gives themselves almost all 5 star reviews. Should be time for a class action lawsuit.

Terrible customer service and uninformative information, hidden costs, poor safety qualities, wear on battery, lack of roadside assistance and emergencies, wait for hours to contact them,. Bill costs are different due to hidden costs, high termination costs and removal of device, and highly not recommended.

Disreputable at best
August 21, 2020

Choose a different company than intoxalock. They entered the wrong vehicle info causing problems with the vehicle and then had to pay another $100 for their mistake. Now, they say I owe them for other devices and keep trying to charge me for past due account. You CANNOT get any customer service for help. So when they refuse to answer emails and texts and put you on hold for hours until you hang up, they charge you more. Reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. #uck you intoxalock. I hope you get sued and shut down. I cannot believe the lack of customer service and the scandalous way you charge for nothing. You won't get any money from me. Eat a bag of ducks.

Don't believe a damn thing they tell you. The final day of my 6 mo term they claimed I had failed a test after not having 1 fail for the hole 6 mo and they tell me it was a moving violation fail when my vehicle wasn't even running and after sending me an email 4 days prior stating I was free to get it removed but waiting for dol to receive data and sign certificate. My vehicle wasn't running at all at the time of the. 041 fail. I'm fact it hadn't all day and violation was at 938 pm. Isn't the point of having this to test ur sobriety before driving. Now they claiming I need it for another 5 months. Crooks. And with covid season going on of course they love being able to hang up on you and hide behind a phone.

Auto body repair shop
August 18, 2020

I spoke with a customer service representative named Myra 4 days ago regarding covid and repairs to my car after an accident. She informed me that because of covid the policy is to have the service center disable the unit for $50-$100 so NOBODY with the possibility of having covid would blow in my machine. 4 phone calls to set it up and ALL reps have NO knowledge of this. I absolutely have to have my car repaired and the story now is that it has to be uninstalled and re-installed for $600. Intoxalock will pray to God if I contract covid letting a total stanger blow.

This is ABSOLUTELY the WORST business. I cant believe that they are still operating, CLASS ACTION SUIT every heard of it? I was lied to when signing, I have to have this device for 5 years and I was looking for a good deal when shopping around. I should have done more homework because this place is a leach of the worst kind. I was told that I was going to pay Around $100 per month, all fees and costs included. I am completely blind sighted each billing cycle with fees that I was not told about. The lease is confusing when talking to their reps (if I can get them on the phone) they give information that twists the plot even more. Some law firm should look into this place and cash in on a class action because this business is fraudulent. DON"T, FOR THE LIFE OF YOU, DON"T SIGN UP! Save your money.

I signed a 6 month contract woth them and their devices are completly inaccurate. They charged me 180 $ a month because the device goes off and locks you out for no reason... i repet this is nothing but a way for them to rip you off. Intoxolock is going to rip you off. I highly sugest to go toanother company. You will save your selfs an arm and a leg. Trust me! Joseph leon

Not so good
August 14, 2020

I had intoxalock in my car for 2 years. Was not a pleasant experience. Not only are they tough to get a hold of, the device itself is pretty outdated. My device kept draining my car battery in just a few hours leading to many "lockouts". Now that i finally have it out of my car, it destroyed my alternator and battery, costing me quite a bit in repairs. Maybe there are better up to date devices out there. I paid a high price for my 1st and only DUI and then some. Personally I think these devices are not only damaging to your car, dangerous qhile driving and overall unsanitary. The company nickel and dimes you. The whole thing is a money pit/racquet.

Josh Greenfield sold me a device with a hole bunch of lies I was told by him as long as I provide the papers that were given to me by them to the dmv I would be able to drive
Let me note my mom is disabled and owns the car that I purchase a device from intoxalock its really big balky and I never new about any of the hidden fees until after I got all the paper work
Now josh told me it was free install lies it was 130$ to install
Josh never told me how long it would take to install i never new until I got the car to the shop
it could take a hole day
After finding all of this out I called to get the interlock uninstalled
They said they would not do it with out a probation letter and that I'm on probation
Now with that being said I have completed probation in 2015 and its 2020 now
The main thing here is make sure the rep. Explains everything to you first before you say OK
This would not be such a big deal but my mom is disabled and I have to babies at the house under 2 now the only way we can go anywhere is if we walk or take a cab
Because the dmv would not except the intoxalock paperwork
Let me add its not easy to get ahold of these people I spent over 10 hours on the phone and still got no where along with a doesn't hang ups

Horrible
July 25, 2020

From charging me for things that didn't happen, horrible customer service (30+ minute wait times for calls if they even answer, putting you on hold until they hang up, picking up the phone and immediately hanging up, hanging up mid conversation) their product doesn't work well either. For a week they told me they were shipping my device when I originally got it installed and it didn't show until I got ahold of someone after trying to get ahold of them for 2 1/2 hours (they'd hang up or put my on hold until the call automatically ended) horrible company. Its a literal scam. Anyone who knows a good lawyer should look into filing a lawsuit

No one knows wth they are talking about at this company. Their solution is to just transfer you back and forth to one another. No one knows any answers to any questions. They are rude and very short. They have no customer service at all. All they care about is your money. I wouldn't refer this company to my worst enemy let alone any friends in need of this service. Angie from collections extension 276 was the most smart assed and ignorant person I have ever spoken to. She obviously doesn't know her head from a hole in the ground. Even after I paid and returned the equipment I can't get this company to send a simple letter to PennDOT! What a freaking joke of a company. Oh and by the way Angie in collections is the head of the company with no one to answer to, she has no one above her and she has th final word on all matters at intoxalock. If that was the case you wouldn't be making 8$ an hour to answer phones.

Worst company ever!
July 16, 2020

Worst company I have ever worked with. They had the dmv paper work filled out incorrect three times. Their customer service is horrible and they are not helpful at all. Don't ever use this company, waist of time, money and constant time on hold trying to get a technician on the phone. I promise you go use any other company but this one.
