It took me several days to complete. Partly because I'm not teck savey It wouldn't accept my photo even after several photos. Finally direct me to take a facial photo. As after that I had been verified.
I had to upload my documents over and over, different documents over and over, only to be rejected. Half of my documents had my old address, so the system rejected them for that flaw, they the state didn't anticipate, we the public would experience. A wast of 15 hours in thee days and night. I had a deadline to get my weekly claim in, I started Sunday evening into the early morning, nothing but rejection. So I started Monday afternoon, rejection till midnight I did the facial recognition over and over every night, it doesn't work, it kept telling me retake, retake i did it about 5,6 times a night, its a bunch of crap. Tuesday I started in the evening till 11 pm. Finally I got a video interview. By this time I lost my time frame to get in my weekly claim, so I had to resubmit my claim allover again, now I'll have to wait an additional week or two for my check. My rent is past due by two weeks, probablywill be late a month by the time i get paid. By then ill be in evictioncourt., I have to pay the late fee, the state could care less, if I put out on the streets, my electricity bill is un paid.

In the day and age we live in, might as well feel comfortable having your credentials under lock and key by 1 company like this instead of having your stuff all over the web... this company will verify who you are when you need them to do so...
It was a security step that I was forced to do in order to access the website I needed to use. Initially somewhat frustrated that I had to go through another security step, but ultimately it was actually quite easy to set up and use.

I had an opportunity to use ID.me to log into the social security administration website. I hadn't been on it for a while, so when I tried to log on, a message advised that accessing my records had been updated and I needed to verify my identity by first uploading identification documents which they would review, and then participating in a video call with an agent who would request that I show him/her the documents I uploaded. I proceeded to upload photos of the documents. Once I did that, the website advised that it would take approximately 40 minutes for the documents to be reviewed before going to the next step, the video call with an agent to verify my identity by showing the same documents I uploaded. It gave me the option to wait or save and exit. If I chose to save and exit, then an email would be sent to me with a link to join a video call. I chose to save and exit. Within 30 minutes or so, I received the email with the link. I clicked the link and had to wait about 2 minutes to join the video call. The video call was straightforward and took about 3 minutes. The agent was courteous and professional. After she verified my information by asking me my full name, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of my SSN, she then asked me to show her the front and back of the two pieces of identification I had uploaded to ID.me. After that, she confirmed why I was using ID.me and asked whether anyone had contacted me by text or phone to verify my information. I responded in the negative, and then the call ended. Writing my description took a lot longer than the actual experience. I felt it was an efficient, easy, safe and secure way to identify a person without compromising their identity.
