Impossible

I've had an account for years. It did not acknowledge me. It was impossible to reset my password. I attempted to create a new account for it to say I have an account. It went in circles for 2 hours trying to get it. What a joke.

For a service that requires several IDs to gain an account that is meant to make access easier, you'll find that you must share live selfie, photos of your drivers license everything you log in. But, if you log directly to the site with, password, you'll get a double verification. Much easier to go direct than through a middle man.

I helped other relatives get verified, and there wasn't a photo requirement. I really do NOT LIKE having to take a photo. And not only that, ID.me refused to ask to access my camera so that I could enable it for this photo. Thus, their system kept kicking me out and timing out.

It took TWO DAYS of trying before I was verified.

If I could have skipped this whole process, I would have. But it was required to access a government website that I needed to log into.

Quick easy and help me not have to worry about remembering my password for Social Security it's hard to remember when you use it so seldom. ID.me saved me.

Extremely secure process

It was easy to navigate the system until I got to the place where you had to upload a photo of your drivers license. I kept getting an error message that said something went wrong. Please try again later. I finally gave up and got out of the system for about an hour. When I went back in, I was able to upload the photos without a problem. Other than that, the system functions very well. And of course, you have an extremely secure process to get to your Social Security administration site.

Id.me and social security

In trying to create a social security account I repeatedly had my phone # rejected and not offered any options. Attempts to contact ligin.gov were fruitless. The id.me process, while still having an issue with the phone # offered a video call as an option, and it was successful. While the wait time was long, I attribute that to calling on a Sunday afternoon. The id.me agent was very helpful.

It worked from Australia!

It took some effort - more so because of SSA requirements I'm sure, but I was able to finally access my SSA account after they changed the log-in process. ID.me was extremely helpful - once I could connect from my home in Australia. Even thought it was Sunday afternoon in Australia and early Saturday morning in the USA I was able to connect with a ID.me agent via video in about a minute. FAMTASTIC! She was most helpful.

There are too many confusing steps and requires great skill with two different devices and features of those devices. I got through it after over an hour of work and waiting but my elderly brother could not handle it so we just make an appointment with the local IRS office to go in person for him.

Secure access for Social Security

I have been using ID.me to access my social security account for over a year now. I trust the security format. One issue: changing password from text to passkey is complicated. For now I am still using text as a secondary security measure

Not the easiest

At first I could not get on with my Apple laptop. I had to switch to my HP and get on. The Apple computer said my password was wrong and I used the same password for my HP and I was able to get in. Plus there was a new pause to see if I was a person. This only happened on my HP.

Safe and secure way of logging into important websites, without having to keep up with multiple log ins and passwords for sites i cant do without having access to. I know i have access because id.me ensures my access is safe and secure, and available any time i need it!

The system failed to smoothly allow the account set-up process to be completed. It took several attempts to complete the set-up. Different attempts produced logjams at different stages.

Due to lengthy processing time, the system locked me out anyway, because it refused my user ID and password. It also did not recognize lowercase or capitalized letters and kept telling me my user ID and passwords were incorrect.

After spending 2 hours in the SSA local office without being called only to find out the office couldn't have verified my ID after I left, I was disappointed in that, so the online ID.me was far more streamline
