It is a means to an end. Personally, there were steps that could've been excluded and there were things that most definitely needed to remain as part of the process.
My personal opinion is that ID.me is a work around for SSA users with no US mailing address, however I would rather use a federal application which is not an option in my case. PS. My experience with ID.me is close to zero have just established ID.me account therefore my rating is irrelevant. Will move to fed. Application as soon as I'm back to US soil. Yes I do have concerns regarding how safe information I have provided to ID.me... Could you please comment on it? Appreciate.

At first I couldn't connect my screen was black then I couldn't hear but Angelica was able to hear me luckily she called me and was able to go from there. Maybe I had my sound muted on my chrome settings I should've checked settings site premissions to see if it was allowed
It was easy and informative to re gain and learn about my personal information. My life has indubitably been in flip flopping shambles for years. (Meaning) my credit report/scores, financial issues/business, relationships, education & etc. were misplaced for 33 years of my life. My experience was phenomenal. He helped verify my identity in less than 3 minutes! It was very quick and easy. The wait time for the video call was only 3 minutes so that was very fortunate and he told me the steps to do next so I wouldn't be confused. He was very respectful. I enrolled in IDme to access Social Security website. It was easy to enroll and enter data except take and upload selfie from camera. I had to try three attempts to upload selfie as it needs very bright area for taking picture.

I'm a senior who isn't terribly tech savvy. After having a SSI account for nearly 60 years, all of the new id verification took me aback. I was confused and stressed. But, when I followed the instructions it wasn't difficult, and the video call representative was very kind. It was all wrapped up and I could once again sign into my SSI account. However, I'd love to know what prompted this big hassle out of the blue. Do have my suspicions...

Excellent. After numerous failed attempts to use login.gov for my SSA account, I tried ID.me and was done in 10 minutes. Login.gov gave me "try again later " 3 times, and " lost connection" twice over the course of 3 days.
It goes into loops if you try to update your professional license. And there you go in circles trying to update your license over and over.
