Having very little computer experience being 84 years old. The process was much much too fast for me as I had to read & try to understand what they wanted me to do next. Then they timed me out & had to start all over again. That really messed up my head. I would think it be like me telling a young kid to go get on the John Deere & hook up the 8 row plow & plow the 40 acre patch with the rows to north & south. Please plow at 9 inches deep. Do not do the 50 acre patch. Then give home 15 minutes to get it all ready to start, which I could do in about 5 minutes.
Too many steps needed to verify.my bank only requires a two step process to verify. My express scripts only needs a two step process.Why do ineed a copy of my license front and back? 26 years of service should not requires this much info. My email and password should be sufficient.
Wat too cumbersome for anybody over the age of 50. This is another mess created by someone that does not understand the target audience.

I spent two days trying to figure this out because my phone is an iPhone. It should be able to take facial recognition. Finally, my daughter help me we used her phone.

There's a bit of a wait time for the video call but it's well worth knowing your identity is verified and can't be easily duplicated or forged.
When logging in they sent a verification text to my phone. To upload a picture of my ID they sent a link to the same phone. Finally, they made me wait for a video call (on the same phone) because they couldn't verify that the phone I used throughout the process was my phone. If you don't think it's my phone, don't FORCE me to use it to verify MY identity.
I started and finished with ease. Had no problems with the instructions given, was able to get through within an hour.

I initially had trouble uploading my ID and taking a photo of my face. Even though I followed the instructions, the system didn't work, so I switched to the video call option. I had to wait for almost 30 minutes, and I wasn't sure what to expect. But then, a kind and professional representative appeared on the screen and patiently guided me through the process, step by step—even though it was already late in the evening. I needed to access my IRS records to confirm I hadn't filed any taxes for 2023 or 2024, as I arrived in the U.S. in October 2023 and didn't start working until February 2025. I had already faxed my 4506-T form in early July, but I hadn't received any response. I'm especially concerned because I need the confirmation for my daughter's FAFSA application for the 2026 school year. Although I still haven't received the 4506-T response, verifying my identity through ID.me gave me at least some confirmation that no tax filings were on record. I'm very grateful for the support from the video call representative, and I hope the IRS will improve the response time in the future.

Wanted to check my estimated tax balances. It appeared that I must go through ID.me. The process/software did not work well with my phone. Prompted me to take a photo of a government ID but didn't open my camera but went to the camera file. Had to dump out and take fresh photos. Tried again. Self service didn't work. Went to video call. That worked. Text messages to my cell worked. The follow up call came to my land line. This made it impossible to be able to access my records remotely. The whole process was fragmented and not intuitive. The MFA is over the top.
It was an easy process. I went into the unemployment office to change my password and username it was very easy. I believe I was moving a little too fast at home.
