It took me 3 days to finish the on-line identification and validation process, because not all the requirements for documents are made clear at the beginning. I had to visit my bank safety deposit box to retrieve a key document that the video verification agent needed to see in my hand. They want to see me holding the physical documents, and the scan-photo electronic copies are not enough. That was a surprise at the end of the process, that cost time.
You just fill out the form, some questions seem a bit over complicated or you might not know specific dates. Usually on these things if you give them a date within a few days of when you think the incident occurred it's not a huge deal. Hopefully I'm right.

I had trouble with ID me verify me, I tried it three or four times and no luck so I had to call customer service

You don't have to keep repeating your information to each and everyone with whom you are communicating, they already have your information at hand.
My recent experience with ID.me has been extremely frustrating. Once my pictures were taken, my name appeared incomplete in your records, with no option for me to correct it. I was advised to contact the Social Security Administration (SSA) to verify and correct my information. The SSA confirmed that their records are accurate. Despite this, ID.me continues to display my name incorrectly. This issue is not limited to me—several members of my family also have their names displayed incorrectly or missing information in this system, even though SSA records are correct. This indicates that this system needs to be updated to accurately reflect verified information from SSA.
I find it incredibly frustrating that I couldn't update my personal information through ID.me or IRS.gov without being forced to download yet another unnecessary app, speak with a representative who struggled with English and may not have been based in the U.S., and repeatedly upload sensitive documents like my Driver's License and Social Security card. ID.me's auto-verification system failed to reconcile my new home address with the old one on my license, despite multiple attempts. Altogether, this experience has seriously undermined my trust in both ID.me and the IRS.gov websites.
The desktop computer screen worked for the chat Agent to appear and be heard, but I was unable to be seen or heard by the chat Agent. So, she transferred that video chat to my cell phone, which was an unexpected resolution!
Signing up for an account is a breeze, the user interface is also straight forward. I was able to find what I needed on the home page. My main reason for using the system today was to create a payment plan which was easy and quick to to.
