LOGIN.GOV Was A Long Terrifying NIGHTMARE!... ID.ME Was A Short Bad Dream. Im 63 And Theres NO WAY My 86 Real Old Mother Could Have Pulled This Off. I Worked On Getting My Social Security Account Access From 7am This morning Until 2pm This Afternoon NON-STOP, NO BREAKS. I Was Locked Out Of Both Sites Many Times. It Was cRaZy nUtS! I Hope ID.ME Does A Followup Call With Me, Even More So For LOG-IN.GOV. I Fell If I Get To Explain What Happen To Me? I WOULD BE SERVING MY COUNTRY AND HUMANITY!

I contacted IDME to get a replacement social security card from the SS WEB SITE. I thought. I haven't received a copy probably because I didn't do the next step. A SS AGENT called before I could and thats where the confusion began with me and also the uncertainty about IDME

This was actually my second time dealing with ID.me and both times the uploading of docs was not initially affective. And at the end of the day you still really don't know if you did everything appropriately. I understand why services have started using this service as a way to cut down on fraud, but it really compounds the stress level of an already stressful process.

The process was easy and without any difficulty. Thorough in making sure you are who you say you are.
In all fareness I was not happy with Id.me because of the unjust requirements:
1. Cellphone w particular carries. 2. No VOIP phone numbers accepted. As I have one for 25 years.
3. I have a State Drivers License but know many who do not. Reason along with State DMV Id's, (Reason) alot of Seniors and Elderly people dont have required documents that weren't available or existed years ago which is needed to get such id's.
4. As a an experienced computer operator / User system was challenging except the video call.
My son has autism and is non-verbal. When applying for his id.me account we went through all the steps in the process, but for some unknown reason, the system requested a short video conference to verify documents. When the agent found out that the person applying for the account has autism and is non-verbal, the process was stopped and the agent told us that my son would not be able to apply because he is unable to answer some questions. This is despite having all his documents, his legal guardian present, and he was there at the time, but cannot answer questions because of his disability
The verification process for Social Security Administration is horrendous! Login.gov required a second known public realm telephone number - I did not have that so they would not verify me. The link both Login.gov and ID.me sent to my iPhone was Rejected - I tried all suggestions to fix and none worked. There must be another way to do the verifications as not many folks will be able to ever get portal access to SSA!
