Cheap flights, but **Warning**: no customer service, so if you have any issues with your flight booking, cancellations, etc., you are on your own. I bought "cancel for any reason" insurance for my flight when I booked months ago (pre-Covid19). Submitted cancellation request in early April for 4/25 flight. It's May 23rd and still no refund and no response from "in-app customer service" to even acknowledge that my request was submitted and in process. In fact, the follow-up messages I sent via the app in April and May still show unread. The money saved on previous flights doesn't cover the $350 I'm out for this trip.
I purchased a price freeze on May 12th and it was good for seven days on the sixth day I try to get my ticket at the price I froze it on and it kept reading error until the time had expired no one to contact support is a joke only this was not funny.
Theres a absolutely no way to talk to anyone from hopper in person if you encounter some problem. I am unable to process a cancellation which was done by the airlines.
They deny refunds when the airline cancels the flight, which is against uS law. They have no customer service phone number and their chat bot is worthless.
Hopper is a complete Joke. During the Covid19 they have been the worst. I purchased travel insurance only to be Denied due to the insurance plan not covering border closure or travel ban. Really! That is out of my control and its a freaking pandemic. Not to mention I lost my dad to this virus but to have to deal with trying to get a Refund that should have been granted Period with insurance and the flight was Cancelled. Do Not use Hopper... no live person to speak with a total Joke!
I've been trying to get a hold of this team for MONTHS. I'm not exaggerating. I got the ticket in 2019 and had an issue with the booking ever since. As time goes on and COVID is a thing, More issues start to arise for my June 1st flight. I have yet to hear back from them from my initial issue in January 2020. It is now May 2020 and I am still messaging them with no luck. Please DO NOT book through Hopper. They are too busy to take care of their customers and overloaded themselves. They say they will answer you within 24 hours, soo. That's a lie. It's funny because I wrote a review a few months ago, and someone wrote back with an apology and said someone would get back to me ASAP and that never happened. Hoping this may start something up so I get a response.
I booked a flight in March for a May flight for Memorial Day Weekend. My boyfriend & I were scheduled to attend his son's graduation, which has been postponed until August. I have sent email after email to Hopper & I was directed to resolve my issue thru the insurance carrier for the trip. I did that & was told that flight changes are the responsibility of Hopper. My insurance claim was closed & I've been trying to reach out to get return contact to NO AVAIL! My friend recommended this app & this is my 1st time using it. However after all of this unnecessary back & forth the unprofessional nature of their business, this is a headache I can do without! I WILL NEVER USE THIS APP AGAIN! THE PRICES ARE CHEAP & SO IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE! PLEASE STEER ABSOLUTELY CLEAR OF THIS APP! IT'S HORRIBLE!
I heard about hopper and read great reviews initially. Only after I booked an international flight with Hopper did I begin to have problems. This was prior to Covid-19. The flight I chose was not the flight that was booked for me. I chose our flight with a shorter layover which cost a bit more but instead was booked with the flight that had the longer layover but they still charged me more. I requested feedback for four solid weeks from Customer Service through the help section. No one responded until week six. At that point covid had begun and we were trying to get out of our flights all together. Again no response until the week of our international flights. I purchased flight insurance which apparently did nothing for me. As I was not issued a refund through hopper for the international flight at my request prior to Covid or after covid had started. Since there is no way to talk to a real person, I would strongly suggest you stay away from hopper. I tried contacting the airline directly to change my flight, then to cancel my flight and they could not help me because this was booked through a "travel agent" and that's how they saw Hopper. I would again say do not use Hopper and I don't understand all these amazing positive reviews. Because sadly, after I booked in January 2020 I read many more unhappy reviews than I had prior to using their service.
My flight was cancelled due to the pandemic. The airline is offering a full-refund if Hopper confirms there's no outstanding credit on their website. I've been messaging Hopper since the pandemic started, but have had NO response. I've now waited almost 2 months for a message or a call and have received nothing. I am now in the process of contacting my bank to dispute the charge. The hassle and stress during an already stressful time is horrible. I was recommended to this app from a friend, and I have never regretted something so much. On top of that, I paid to price freeze my ticket in case I didn't find anything cheaper. I bought the ticket within the price freeze timeline (I have photo receipts to prove it) and the app STILL charged me the full amount, which was more than double the price that I froze it at. I have never been so unhappy with a service. For someone that travels quite a bit, I will never be using Hopper in the future and will warn my family and friends not to either. During a time when work and money is uncertain, you'd think Hopper would take their customers needs more seriously. Horrible horrible horrible service!
I had to cancel my trip to see my son graduate bootcamp March 14. I bought insurance and have still not heard anything back about my refund. The worst is there is no customer service to call. I have left a dozen message in the app and I get no response. I'm out of work and could really use my 2300 dollars!
Ignored, hung up and refused a refund! I purchased the "cancel for any reason" refund insurance for around $30.00. They have since changed the name for obvious reasons. I tried reaching out to hopper via phone, waited 20 minutes and told the representative I purchased THEIR insurance and needed helping getting a refund only to be quickly informed that I needed to call the airline directly and hung up on before I could respond! I tried via email, well there support box is not being monitored anymore. Shocker. I chatted in, waited hours for a response and finally just signed off after I informed them I would be filling a complaint with BBB. 2 weeks later, after my scheduled flight of course, I get an email response to my chat string where the rep openly admits they are neglecting customers. I bought a product, they refused to let me use it, have admitted it and still won't refund the insurance money. They are ignoring customers hoping the airlines take care of the problem for them. Unacceptable. File complaints with the BBB and write reviews if this is happening to you. Businesses don't deserve our money if they are going to behave this badly!
Horrible experience. Had to cancel a flight for obvious reasons (COVID-19) but because flight was booked not directly through JetBlue but Hopper the credit is only good for 12 months form the date of issue. Versus JetBlue policy that is 24 months. Since normally people book in advance, that is not even 12 months form date of the flight that I had to cancel. I can only do vacation in summer, when kids are out of school, not early spring! Shame on Hopper! Do not use. Or you can use Hopper to search for flights, just make sure to book directly through airlines. Please note that the prices are the same. Hopper does not apply any discounts. It's just a search engine. Do not book via Hopper!
I booked a flight with hopper the fare plus cancellation insurance came $1,031.50. I filled out the cancellation form per instruction from Hopper on March 18 for a flight departing April 3rd. The flight was booked on American Airlines, wished I had booked with them directly as they had announce early that they would be returning airfare. I suspect Hopper has already received the refund from AA, but has yet to return anything to me. They are slow in responding, I can understand some of the delay being due to the pandemic, however how many flights are they processing now, further I purchased the insurance so some of this should have been automatic, they should be ramping down as far as traffic is concern so the "... We are receiving a high volume of requests due to COVID-19" no longer flies.
Hopper has zero customer service. You are only able to message with a bot through the app and once you start asking for a refund they stop responding all together. I have 2 tickets booked through Hopper to fly on Hawaiian airlines. The airline cancelled my flights I attempted several times to get in contact with Hopper over several weeks and was only ever able to get a generic automated response. I finally reached out to Hawaiian airlines and was informed I was eligible for a refund and Hopper should be refunding me in full. I've sent screen shots to Hopper and still have not received any response. I have now filed complaints with the BBB and the DOT. Everyone else that is experiencing these issues should also file complaints. Hopper is receiving our refunds and not releasing them to us.
I booked 4 flights to St. Croix for May 16-22 for a family vacation. Flights have been cancelled by American Airlines because the USVI is closed now due to COVID 19. American Airlines is happy to refund, however because we booked through Hopper we need to reach them for refund. Went to the app and followed all the steps when click on Cancel My Trip there is a Request Cancellation bar on the bottom of the screen that will not open. I cannot find a way to contact anyone at this company. This is terrible customer service. I NEED MY MONEY BACK!
My flight was cancelled nearly two weeks ago and I still have yet to hear whether or not I am receiving a refund, credit, or ANYTHING. They do not respond to their chats, and there is no phone line or email. It is nearly impossible to talk to a human who works for this company. Understandably all travel agencies across the board are pushed to the brink with cancellations, but never would I thought a company could display this level of insurmountable disregard for their clientele.
I will never use this app to purchase a plane ticket ever again.
I would give 0 stars if I could. I booked a trip through hopper a few months ago and made sure to add the "cancel for any reason" fee just in case. Despite the refundable plan I bought through them, they are now telling me I can't cancel due to the terms and conditions which they have since updated to include COVID-19 specifically. The terms should apply to your date of booking, not the terms and conditions the company has added to cheat people out of their money. There isn't even a phone or email to contact for help. This app is a disgrace of customer service and they will be losing a lot of customers due to their handling of current situations. This app is a scam!
There is no support if you have a question or trouble. I have asked repeatedly for help with using a refund. No answer after two weeks. Do not use this site. You will regret it.
My flight was cancelled due to covid-19 so I sent a "cancellation request" which you have to do with hopper even if the flight is cancelled by the airline. They don't have a phone number to call, they only have an online chat which no one responds to. I messaged them on twitter which they responded to with generic, useless messages that didn't address my questions at all. So it's been a month now with no refund, no flight credit, no communication AT ALL from hopper. They haven't even answered my chat request from a MONTH ago. They just took my money and kept it. AVOID.
My daughter went in the hospital during the Coronavirus scare - DKA due to being diabetic - she contacted Hopper that she was in the hospital and has a doctors note that states she can not travel to Miami. Flights were canceled, restaurants and beaches in Miami closed, stay at home order. Hopper still charged her 1004. 37 Worst company ever! This is wrong need refunded! She contacted the hotel also but money through Hooper SCAM company! Cropped out her personal information.
Answer: File a claim with your bank. They charged me An additional 2 nights after hopper said they would refund my money. Instead they went without my consent n charged me an additional 2 nights. I was robbed for a total of 3 nights. Without being able to contact any support. A total Scam!
Answer: No they are about polar opposite of trustworthy. Run don't walk away from this company. My lesson cost $1435 dollars. If you require customer service look elsewhere they have none. Not even a phone number which is the first red flag.
