Lost my money
January 25, 2021

I purchased a flight to Portugal in January 2020 for departure June 2020. Flight was cancelled because of COVID. Air Transat offers a travel voucher but hopper still has not sent me one 9 months after the cancellation. No phone number. Sent two messages with no reply. Avoid at all costs!

DO NOT USE THEM! This company will cheat you out of your money. They stole my money in 2020 after the pandemic hit even though I paid extra to be able to cancel for any reason. I have a feeling this is a lawsuit under way. The attached photo is an email from May 2020, and I still have not seen a dime from hopper.

I've been trying to get ahold of hopper for over a week. 24 hours they said. NO. They don't ever get back to you. I literally need a name correction and my flight is in 2 weeks. Worst app ever. I will never book through a 3rd party again. Trying to get ahold of them is super difficult. So when you put something in make sure it's correct.

Can not talk to a human to resolve any problems. 1,200 lost due to their ignorance. It took 6 days for them to respond electronically without even an answer

Horrible app

Worst app ever! They won't let us redeem the credit they gave us since we had to cancel our flight last year due to Covid. So pretty much they are steeling $600 for us. And there isnt a number to call.

I've used them in the past, but never again, I just froze a price for a trip, I'm still currently trying to cancel it before the deadline date, & the App is not allowing me the option they claim to offer " MANAGE UR TRIP" the option doesn't exist, so u can only go forward with the booking,, & So with no customer service number to speak to someone i guess on the 22nd i will just lose my deposit. I sent a email to no avail. Unbelievable. But a small price to pay to Never use this company again. My pics show what happens when u click on get help, & yes i have an updated phone 2020 & the app has been updated

Hopper has no way of directly contacting customer service for help. I've been working on getting a response regarding 4 cancelled flights for almost a year with no responses. Completely unacceptable. Avoid using this app, it's not worth it in any way shape or form. I'm resorting to disputing the charges.

I usually had a good experience using the app, but after this real issue where they could really show they were different from all the other travel sites out there, they really proved to be a complete fraud. I spent two days trying to get someone to confirm a ticket change, all I got from them is: we can't contact the airline. Imagine my surprise when I called the airline and they picked up in 5 minutes and they told me: Sir you need to have the agency call us they are the only ones that can change your ticket. We cant change the ticket if they don't call us" Not only they kept lying saying they could not contact the airline, but they left my girlfriend stranded in the airport because they never contacted the airline, not only did I lost that ticket but I also had to buy another one at a much higher price given my girlfriend had no other way to get to her final destination. A total disregard for customers (customer support doesn't have 24 hr contact so if you have an emergency you're done forget about anyone reading your emails). They totally didn't even care. They contacted me the day after I had to buy a new ticket acting as nothing happened and "apologizing". With an endnote that proves they really don't care: "We see that you bought another ticket so good to hear it resolved. I would never recommend anyone using hopper again. In fact, I will not only start legal action but also I will make it my mission to ensure anyone that crosses my path doesn't purchase a single service from this irresponsible group of people.

It has been ten months since I or the airlines canceled $20,000 worth of flights (I travel full-time and had a six-month trip booked prior to corona-virus). When the flights were canceled either by myself or by the airline, I was sent emails from Hopper stating that I had credits with the airlines. However, Hopper never provided any way to cash in on those credits. None. When I call the airlines directly, they tell me to talk to Hopper. Hopper does not have any customer support that I can tell. Contacting Hopper customer support is like trying to radio Amelia Earhart. It goes nowhere. I've sent unknown amounts of help requests to Hopper to no avail. Several of my flights were fully refundable, and I received emails from Hopper stating so. In eight months, I have not received a single refund. Nothing. Working with Hopper will make you feel like a boiling teapot about to explode. Book direct with the airlines, and never use this app.

They used to be great but I am still waiting on any reply to get even an answer what is happening with my 4 tickets from March and April. No reply no refund nothing
Right now trying to contact them to change itenary. "uh o server trouble" for the last 6-8 days! My flight I need to reschedule is in two days! No reply again, nothing.

We booked round trip tickets using their price freeze guarantee, figuring we had nothing to lose since the $45 per ticket was to be refunded as long as we booked the flight through hopper within the time frame. They emailed saying we would be refunded the price freeze deposit within 1-5 business days. Not only did they not refund the money, they failed to respond to multiple inquiries about this. Ended up having to dispute the charge with our credit card company. A complete hassle. We travel a lot and will never use this app again.

Customer service

Listen. It's almost near impossible to get with a rep. It says a representative will reach out to you within 24 hours well it's been 48 hours since my first message were sent and still haven't received a response. The price of the flight isn't worth it if you can't receive assistance on your trip when needed it's completely ridiculous that a travel site doesn't have a number or a live agent for communication. Terrible customer service in my opinion and for that this will be my last time booking through that site. My advice is to go with a different travel site or book directly through the airline.

Buyer beware

I booked a flight through Hopper (Air Canada) in February of 2020 and spent $470. The pandemic hit and in July Air Canada cancelled my flight. Even though every other travel company in the world was giving people refunds Hopper would only issue me a travel credit. I re-booked in November of 2020 and paid an additional $530, while also using my $470 Hopper credit. In December I was notified by Hopper that Air Canada cancelled my flight, again, with absolutely NO REASON. I checked with a different airline and booked the same departure/arrival place/date. This is unacceptable that Hopper took $1000 of my money and provided no service. Why would I want another travel credit? I have no confidence in either company and am now forced to consider legal action

Still waiting on refund

My flight was canceled due to Covid in May and we are now in December 2020 and still waiting on refund. I have reached out many times and I get the same automated response. I have reported them and hopefully they will get shut down with all the complaints. They don't even deserve 1 star!

Lost a loyal customer

I want to start this off by saying I have literally NEVER written a review in my entire life, and I have experienced some pretty poor service in my 24 years of living. I like to think I'm a very understanding and patient person. I have been a loyal customer for several years now and have probably used the app 100 times by now to book roundtrip flights. However, my last flight about a month ago I tried to change because I needed to get home due to family reasons and saw an even cheaper option for earlier. So I reached out, and never got a response, even though I know for a fact I could have gone directly through the airline and gotten a cheaper deal for the flight that would get me back home when needed. I brushed it off because I made the best out of the situation and gave them the benefit of the doubt due to high traffic in the midst of COVID. So now come December, similar circumstances arose and I needed to get home 3 days earlier than anticipated. I requested a change A MONTH AGO. I finally got a response in email prompting me to pick an option, which I did within 1 hour of the email, and waited. I never got a follow up, so I emailed again. I kept checking changes in my itinerary daily, following up probably 10 times with request after request and heard nothing. Finally 8 hours before my flight departed I got a follow up apologizing they were unable to fulfill my request, and reassured me my flight was going to depart as planned. You don't say... safe to say I will never be using this app again and have deleted it and after thousands of dollars spent, I can say it was a waste. Everyone is better off booking directly through the airline and if anything, I would just use this as a tool to find a cheap flight and then go to the airline website.

My last message to hopper:
I spoke with AirCanada: They said it could have been a full refund back to original form of payment if you would have purchased the refundable package they offer. Which you should have done. Since i purchased refundable ticket insurance through you (Hopper). I will be filing a formal complaint through the Department of Transportation on Monday, December 21,2020 (12/21/20). As well as reaching out to my credit card company to help aid in getting the money refunded. I have reached out multiple times to handle this cordially. However due to your lack of response and inability to come through as promised these steps shall be taken.

WORST AND CROOK APP

I booked refundable ticket and just after two days I cancel my ticket and before 15 days of my flight departure date and today its almost one and half month they did not reply regarding that. I strongly against this app and i suggest everyone please do not use this app. Worst app I ever saw and crook staff because no one even try to contact me.

Terrible!

The destination we were going to got shut down because of Covid. I had bought the insurance just in case! There are no costumer service people. And they didn't want to refund me at all. They were willing to give 216 if I swiped the cancel button. But where is the other 300? They said 80 percent refundable but yet aren't even trying to hire someone to fix this! Such a terrible terrible company!
