This service is a complete crap show. I called the airline after two hours of no responses from Hopper, even though they immediately took the money out of my account. DON NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHT THROUGH HOPPER! I've never encountered worse customer service. They have zero contact info. I called their Montreal number, it's a recording and they hang up on you after the part in FRENCH! I wish I could give zero stars. Never again, FU#! YOU Hopper
I like dealing with Hopper and recently purchased air tickets. When my credit card bill came, there were three charges and thru the app asked for an explanation. Response was quick, I had to send screen shot of my bill. Their explanation was a bit confusing to follow but added up as to the two charges that I expected but they never mentioned the third charge. I had to ask for help again. That time the reply was that the $100 charge was for 24 hour cancellation protection, which I did not want or need but I do remember the process of electing out of some options was a bit tricky. BEWARE.

I never heard of a thing where a customer who want to cancel their ticket can't get their money back unless they're dying or someone you knows dying etc even though we took up insurance on the tickets. They're con people. Just go somewhere else. Not worth the bull they come with when you want your money. Their horns comes out and they want your blood.
Hopper will book flights not yet authorized by the country due to Covid restrictions. Pay for the flight cancellation etc. The countries government never claims that the reservation will be allowed but you are booked on this flight. The flight is then canceled by the airline which never had confirmation that the government would allow the flight. Hopper keeps the upgrade money for a flight that never existed.

I booked 4 flights on Hopper for Toronto to Tampa. When I hit book I got an email saying not confirmed. Odd but I thought they were processing my credit card. In the morning I called as it still was pending. Turns out they couldn't offer me that price and if I wanted those flights I'd have to upgrade the flight. Yet when I went in to look the flight at that price was still posted. I fly for work weekly and I can assure you I will never use them. I booked with Expedia for the same price as Hopper's orginal quote and it was confirmed immediately.

Ive tried using hopper a couple of times. In august of 2021 i used it for flights and everything went smoothly. But this week i was trying to use it for hotels and it was the worst experience. The app has a "price freeze" option that essentially offers if you pay a small deposit, it locks in that price so it doesnt go up, and if it goes down it just goes toward the lower cost. Part of this policy is if the room you chose is no longer available, hopper will get you a room with the same bed option to fill the gap. Unfortunately when this happened to me, they said there were "no other rooms with this bed option" and i would just have to refund. But they had multiple other listings from the same hotel with the same room and bed option for a higher price! They wouldnt honor their original terms! This left a bad taste in my mouth so i hastily booked another one of their "deals". Well… after one google search their "highly reviewed hotel" was more than lackluster with recent scathing 1 star reviews. So about 30 minutes after booking i cancelled and at first they were going to only refund me some of it, leaving out about $20 on a $300 hotel stay. The worst part of all of this is contacting customer service. There is no easy way to talk to someone. For such a "tech savvy" app there is no virtual chat or even a phone number to call. You have to email back and forth and wait hours for a response- talking to maybe 4 different people for one issue, because of the hours it takes between responses. Also, in order to even email them, you must attach it to a current or past trip. So if you cancel and have issues with anything involving the cancellation, you cant contact them unless you have a previous trip (thank god i did). On top of that, their refund is a standard 3-10 business days, but when i asked about when they think itll be processed because its a fair amount of money for me, i was told to contact my bank. When i did, my bank assured me it was their job to notify me and they would have no idea- as soon as the bank gets it they put it in your account.
Overall the app has useful features, but theres a lot of dishonesty involved in customer service and honestly just really hard to contact them in the first place
You may think you are freezing prices for a particular day but you are in fact freezing prices for a particular flight. So prices on that day may decrease drastically while your flight stays the same. Hopper could easily offer you the better deal but won't.
This is very poorly reflected at time time of using the freeze price option.
I was chatting with support as the freeze expired, which I had noted to them. They didn't resolve my issue but now I have an eaten deposit and no flight to show for it.

Ok 3rd party agent if you don't need to get a hold of them through phone or email. If you need to change flights you have to go through the airlines directly, and you are still charged the $150 through hopper even though I paid for the travel insurance. Discussed with Hopper

I had a very stressful issue with rebooking my flight from Vancouver to Dublin. Hopper was very responsive and understanding, my rep Clare was amazing. I can't thank them enough.
I downloaded the app and 'watched' a flight. Only to find out the next day I had been charged for a price freeze which I did not do. Customer service can only be reached through email, no phone number. Customer service keeps insisting I made the purchase even though I told them multiple times that I didn't. They refused to resolve the issue and I had to report as fraud to my bank.

They actually charge you a "VIP" service to get any customer service. These people refuse to get on a phone call with you and manage business by going back and forth in emails. Every email returned is from a different representative. It is so infuriating. Also, they have already taken 4 days to apply an existing credit I have with them, they insist that I need to manage it through the airline, and that is the opposite information of the airline. I will never ever use Hopper again. Customer service is too important and it is clearly not their priority. Again, you will be charged $30 just to have access to a phone call from them. And be careful of the hidden $5 "tips" they give themselves when you book a flight.

This whole site is a scam. They lure you in with price freezes that apparently expire and you don't get that money back. You can't exchange the price freeze nor can you use it to book other hotels except the one you "froze" which is in no way clear anywhere on their site except the 8 size font terms and conditions. I've been scammed on other miniscule things that is enough for me to simply not have any trust in this site

Hopper notified that the airline moved my flight to the next day, therefore automatically we still had a booking for the flight. Instead, on day of the flight, I had no booking and had to wait for customer services to reply for hours. If a flight is moved then your booking does not change and there is no need for a rebooking, but somehow Hopper found a way. Was lucky they replied in time and they do not have a customer service phone number for emergencies. Poopie.

This place is so unprofessional - The app charged me twice for one booking because of an error on the app. I'm trying to get this resolved but its literally been a week and Ive spoken to SIX customer service reps an NO ONE could resolve this. This is so unprofessional. DO NOT USE THIS APP.

Canceled my trip close to the trip date and now most everything is either booked or twice the price. I will never use this site to make a reservation again!

Anyone who is considering purchasing their price freeze should read this review very carefully before buying. I spent $65 to "freeze" the price of a flight, which according to their app would allow me to purchase the flight at the same price with 25 days, even if the fare increased. However, immediately after buying, I received a confirmation e-mail which stated that any fare increase would only be covered up to a maximum of $100. This very important clarification was never shown anywhere prior to purchase, despite repeated false claims to the contrary by their customer service. In addition, their price freeze clearly states that "If the price increases, you'll pay the price you see now". This is in direct contradiction to their so-called $100 refund cap, and is blatantly false, since if the price increases by more than $100, I would be required to pay a higher price, not "the price you see now" as they claim. I believe that these false claims are at best misleading and at worst illegal. It is plainly obvious that the only way that they can get people to buy their products is by duping them into paying for something that they falsely advertise but do not provide. However, despite their fraudulent business tactics, they refused to issue me any sort of refund, claiming that they were "bound by their terms and conditions" (despite the fact that no such terms and conditions are provided to the customer until after purchase). I would recommend staying far away from this company and their shady business practices, unless you want to get burned like me!

We had to cancel our flights due to medical situation and when we tried to rebook they kept charging more than what's shown on the website blaming the airlines. No refund at all…only emails …cannot talk to customer service…still waiting to book and prices are going up!

I am a repeat customer. I bought flights via Hopper because of their Buy Now recommendation which I thought was trustworthy, with their Price Drop guarantee.
When the price dropped a mere day after purchase by 40% - I expected Hopper to take responsibility. They offered me $20 back! Insulting.
At this point, even if I cancel the flight, paying a fee, buying the same again elsewhere, I still will be saving money!
I thought Hopper were a different kind of company.

I encourage anyone please don't use Hopper it's a rip off, they have bad customer service! They make promise they don't keep they give you the run around, how you go pick and choose what's refundable and what's not. The employees are not on the same page please spend your money elsewhere I'm sure there are better deal on flights and hotels and cars!

My wife was on a travel nurse assignment in California. Her contracts are month to month and can be terminated at a moments notice. She needed a car so I went to Hopper for the first time. I entered that the car rental would be from January 1 to January 31,2022 and found a Toyota Corolla for $850.00 for the month. I saw on my credit card a charge for $850.00 but I thought this was just a hold for the month for that amount. She picked up the car at Sacramento airport on January 1,2022 but her contract was terminated on January 3,2022 and she returned the car on the 3rd and flew back home. Thrifty car rental charged our credit card $85.00 for the car rental. I have contacted Hopper several times through emails (because they refuse to give a phone number) and they say "It is up to the rental partner (Thrifty) to give permission to refund the $850.00". Thrifty charged my card for the rental for a total $85.00 and Thrifty is done with the car rental. It is up to Hopper to refund the money but they refuse to and keep claiming it is Thrifty fault. Hopper is a scam and is holding a full month charge for $850.00 for a three day rental! Be careful. If it is too good to be true then it is! Hopper has terrible business practices and won't even talk to you!

Answer: File a claim with your bank. They charged me An additional 2 nights after hopper said they would refund my money. Instead they went without my consent n charged me an additional 2 nights. I was robbed for a total of 3 nights. Without being able to contact any support. A total Scam!
Answer: No they are about polar opposite of trustworthy. Run don't walk away from this company. My lesson cost $1435 dollars. If you require customer service look elsewhere they have none. Not even a phone number which is the first red flag.
Answer: There is no customer service, no phone number and no one will address your concerns on social media, or through their app.
Answer: DO NOT TRUST THIS APP WHAT SO EVER! They booked 3 nights after I was waiting for my refund. TOTAL SCAM!
