They try, I lose

Re: Didn't get to stay there. Here's what happened: I called in advance to book a room that was disablility accessible. Then I used Hopper for the first time to book.
Hopper booked me for the wrong day, neither them nor the hotel will reimburse me for an unused room. Typical new hospitality industry baloney.
Yay, we got your money and didn't have to do anything. Except make every hotel proprietor, ya know, look like meretricious dirtbags.
Gettin that reputation you deserve Meth head 6.

Ok so, apparently Hopper invested a lot of manpower emailing me and calling the hotel. But I rented a bag of dust and it's not like I was at the casino.

Don't know why I trusted these quacks, expedia or the other one that screwed me, but it's getting that you need to know someone if you want to take a vacation and stay at a Patel hotel

I booked a two night stay with the Hopper App, paid 98.00, i arrive to the hotel at 9:58 and the office is completely dark and locked up yet hopper charged my card and will not give a refund. They've claimed for the past two days they're trying to reach the hotel but they keep telling me no refunds for service i never received after paying for it.

I have been arguing with this company for two years now. I had to cancel a trip in April 2020 because of COVID. First I was told I would be getting a travel credit. Then I found out online that I should actually qualify for a refund. I emailed them for months. Finally in April 2021 I was told that I was approved for a refund which would show up in my account within several weeks. Almost one full year later (and tons of emails) I have still not received a single cent of my money back, and they have now switched back to telling me I am being given a travel credit that I need to book by April 6th of this year. This company is USELESS. Do not waste your money, do not waste your time. Book through another site. This has been an absolute HORRIBLE experience! RUN!

It's all a lure...

This app sucks. They tell you one price and then "oops, not enough room!" so you have to go through this painful process of trying to find something of a similar piece and just get tricked into what all the other sites are advertising. Also, their customer support is none. At least with Expedia or trip you have chat support. This app will maybe email you if they feel like it to help you out. Good luck getting your money back. Not worth the hype. I will not book with this app ever again!

I booked a hotel and then had to cancel my trip due to Covid-19 in my family. They told me to reach out to the hotel first, then they would cancel and refund me. The hotel was so pleasant and helpful. Hopper had several agents lie to me to say they couldn't refund my cancelled travel plans and blamed it on the hotel. You can't actually speak to anyone but have to settle for emails and different "agents" every time. I will NEVER use this horrible excuse of a service again, and will definitely give them the worst recommendations if I know anyone thinking about taking a chance with this terrible service.
I provided them with positive Covid tests, and anything else they asked for, they were completely unhelpful.

I booked with the app and later found out that they don't return your money on price freeze they put as carrot cash and only have one month to use it or you lose it. And the price you see is not what u pay be careful check the price details I booked directly thru hotel found out it was 80$ cheaper then hopper i will not recommend this website to anyone good for people who say that this app saved them the money. Now iam obligated to book hotel before 1 month or i will lose my money.no contact or human you will be stuck. No chat or email for customer service.so careful 2 different prices taxes and fees is doubled

This app will NOT freeze a specific flight. I was about to purchase 2 RT Business Class Seats for my wife and I Honolulu to Incheon and back (4/14 - 5/13) for $2,375 ea. But then Hopper pops up and tells you that you can hold your flight up to 12 days. I took the bait but before I did, I took a screenshot of the flight info on Kayak. Glad I did. My flight was nowhere to be found later that day. They only allegedly "freeze" the route and, of course, only offer main cabin alternatives. They are digging in their heels and so far have refused to refund my $46. Their lack of transparency and, in my opinion, misleading and shady Business practices - especially targeting elderly folks like me needs to be addressed. So NO. NEVER EVER USE KAYAK-HOPPER.

SCAM PRICE FREEZE

Just signed up for hopper to try to save money on travel, the customer service is terrible, I spoke to Beatrice S(powerless bot) tells me that I don't have to do anything to cancel the "price freeze" that I clearly explained to her that it was an accident. I literally just signed up for hopper less than a week. Clearly it's a scam to make you feel like you are saving money but "non refundable" price freeze spells out scam. Don't bother. Just book through priceline instead, they are more forgiving.

I used the Hopper service in connection to a Kayak researched trip. Sounded too good to miss, it was nothing but a hassle. The "price freeze" that was offered never really happened. Prices just rose and when I went to book there was no savings. When I contacted Hopper they waited until after the "freeze" I purchased had expired and pretended to be magnanimous by extended me a voucher for $200 per passenger, but by that point the airline ticket prices had doubled, so I saved nothing. Hopper tried me about $40 for nothing and then tried to con a tip out of me for "how helpful" they been. Scam, top to bottom, total scam.

Fun Update! March 21st, 2020.
After a tidy back and forth with Hopper customer support it turns out that 1. Hopper described how they were unable to honor the Kayak lowest cost fares because according to Hopper "Kayak is displaying what is called a Hacker fare which can only be obtained through unethical ticketing practices" (direct quote) and 2. No matter how we went back and forth the simple fact is, it is my fault in assuming that a "price freeze" would, in fact, create a scenario wherein I could purchase tickets inline with the pricing I placed a holding fee to "freeze". So obvious, 'freeze" doesn't mean freeze. Don't I feel stupid?

Incorrect charge
March 14, 2022

I was charged more than the listed hotel price. It was listed as $150 and I was charged $182. Hopper said they use a direct booking link between their hotel partners and so prices fluctuate. It's not fair to charge differently than what is listed. Additionally, there was around $50 in hidden fees.

I was freezing a price and it chose the wrong outgoing flight. I'm flying home to see my 16 year old daughters last show choir performance. The flight it auto chose is way later than the performance. I immediately contacted customer support right after and was basically told tough! Money gone. Money I can't afford! I guess I will be missing my daughters performance

Hate it!

It's impossible for me to have 3 problems back to back with them to start they charge your card before you even hit swipe to pay… then if flight is sold out or an error occurs then your out the $ until they refund your acct. Let's not talk about the price freeze…DONT DO IT LOL TRUST ME YOU WILL PAY MORE OR SOMEHOW THERE WILL BE AN ERROR WHEN YOU TRY TO PROCESS

Nightmare trip

Contacted hopper to tell them I didn't have enough time to catch next flight in ohare. They told me 41 minutes was sufficient. Flight left Tampa 45 minutes late due to weather. I bought trip protection Just in case. Arrived in Chicago ohare to find doors closed to my connecting flight to moline It was 530 pm. Offered a flight at 8am. No free hotel no food vouchers. Rented a car for $546 and drove to moline airport. Just a horrible experience. Never again unless hopper reimburses me for car. Back to airport again hoping luggage made it to moline

If I could give a negative rating, I would. The app is not clear that prize freezes are not refundable and the itinerary is not given to you until AFTER you pay the "deposit". At that point, you could have 10+ hours in layovers and not be able to get your money back. This is a SCAM APP. They do not tell you that a price freeze is non refundable or non exchangeable on the page through which you pay for the deposit. This app needs to be taken off of the App Store.

Hopper takes any opportunity to pocket money from you without a refund. I was fully refunded for a flight from the airline due to a change in time that I could no longer accommodate in my schedule. The money was refunded back to hopper. I had to reach out to hopper asking them to send me my refund. If I hadn't reached out, they would not have given me my money back. On top of that, they kept $56 of it because I had used the price freeze feature, even though they got refunded for it.

Not a good business model at all. Would not recommend.
