This company is a scam. All they care about is taking your money. I had scheduled a flight out the country and my return flight was changed so that I would arrive back home a day later. I provided them with the information of a return flight that would meet my original itinerary but they refused to change it and only offered to return the money for my return flight instead of both since I have no way back home on time. Customer service only talks to you thru email and refuses to help. Now I have to look into what my legal rights are to get my money back from them.
I am disgusted by the Hopper app, customer service, dodgy business model and overall feel very ripped off by this company. My sister and her husband (in Australia), and myself and husband (in the USA) coordinated a trip to MX on Aeromexico via Hopper for July 2020. Obviously we couldn't go due to the pandemic, so we re-booked for a year out, and when the time came we still couldn't go. Aeromexico assured us we could still change it should anything else happen and then, when the ability to go again arose, (2021) we were told that we needed to have used the tickets before a certain date. This had not once been mentioned before and now, we are between us, down over more than $USD 1000 with no recourse ( according to the rep I finally got on the phone to after holding for 4 hours) I honestly feel like someone should be investigating what the airlines and companies like Hopper did with all the money that they said " could not" be refunded. It's just been one big rip off and I absolutely will never use this company again. They don't deserve our business.

Hopper booked me on the same flight twice! The first time it gives me an error message saying there was some error and the transaction didn't go through. Then when I tried again it went through. To my surprise later I found out that Hopper charged me twice! Now I can't contact them and I have left multiple messages but no reply what so ever.

I was checking flights and in an hour the flight fare has been raised to $100 dollars. After booking the flight the fare has been dropped. So I had cancelled the flight and booked the same flight flight for the same time. Hopper support contacted me saying that I have been charged $280 dollars as cancellation fee and they are bound by airlines terms and conditions. When I checked airlines website I haven't seen cancellation fee anywhere in the terms. What is in the website is there would be a cancellation fee only if the flight has been cancelled prior to the 7 days departure. But I have cancelled my flight prior to one month of departure. Hopper support acted like helping me but they have cut $500 dollars as cancellation fee. There's no point of using this app. We can directly book our flights from the official airlines' websites. The same price will be shown there too.And if we cancel the flight which have been booked through official website(not by this fraud hopper app) we would atleast get full refund amount by some points. This is really the worst app. No price difference have been seen from the official website of airlines to the fraud hopper app. Cheating app it is...

BEWARE #1-Booked during $20 off flight sale. After reviewing my flight information and charges I selected confirm. Only then did I notice that a $25 customer service option fee AND a $5 tip fee was added to the amount charged. I immediately contacted the "support" option and was told that I would be refunded $30. There were several tactics used to sway me from the refund. A Hopper credit was offered. I refused it and insisted that I wanted the amount credited back to my account. Then I was told that a refund couldn't be processed until my flight was confirmed which could take up to 3-10 business days! #2. My immediate thought was if my flight isn't confirmed yet? Hey, what about my seat selection with the airlines? Mind you I paid for the option to choose my own seat. I was told, "no worries" Your seat is confirmed upon payment. 2 days later I receive an email saying "OOPS" unfortunately we were not able to confirm your seats. You should confirm your seat choice with the airline. The email said my payment would be adjusted accordingly. Unfortunately by the time I attempted to select my seat with the airline the seats I originally selected with Hopper were not available. Thus, I had to choose seats that had fees. #3. I have not received a refund for the hidden extras OR the adjustment for my seats as of this review time. #4. None of the above was an error on the part of Hopper. It is obvious that all was intentional. Hopper offers flight prices lower than booking directly with the airline. However, they make up for it with hidden charges, not honoring seat selections (which is equivalent with economy basic flights) and probably other methods. I can't believe that my experience is not shared by many other unsuspecting customers.

They hide details in fine print, which if understood no-one in their right mind would choose to use. I froze a flight that I was viewing on Kayak and no where did it mention that the airline I was attempting to freeze was not in their network. Then why was it advertised for that airline! Secondly, they do not actually freeze the price of the flight. They will pay the difference of the current cost up to $200. Given the fact that this service costs $25, who in their right mind views that as a bargain. Of course if you visit the FAQ page they intentionally leave this out of several responses and make it seem like they cover the entire difference. On top of all this the customer service is terrible. They outright refused to call me. This shows me they know their service is hot dog $#*! and don't want to face the music. AWFUL WILL NEVER USE AND WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE I TALK TO ABOUT TRAVEL KNOWS NOT TO USE THIS SERVICE.

I bought a round trip to Puerto Vallarta January 2022 and both flight were changed on me. Unfortunately the times did not work. One airline was able to refund, the other a travel credit. Well trying to book a flight and use the credit is impossible! I'm out over $200.

I was looking for a flight ticket for somebody else using hopper. My goal was to compare prices, find a perfect ticket and send a link to that person. Since it was the first time looking for flights using this app, i didn't know why that had two prices under one flight and since English isn't my native language and i didn't find enough information i clicked on the cheapest one to read about it and hopper charged me. As I found out later it was freezing price (costed 1/3 of the ticket)! I immediately contacted support explaining that I didn't have any confirmation and they automatically used the card that i added previously for booking a hotel without asking. I also explained that the flight wasn't for me and they can see that I wasn't looking for any other flights, it was the first time so my request to pay back has nothing to do about "changing the mind and deciding not to book". Also how would I freeze it without finding out for how long? I explained that the money they stole (cuz didn't ask for the permission) was the last money that I had since during the war I have a very limited amount and no chance to work at the moment (they have a proof that i'm ukrainian, my passport). At one point manager stopped answering on my questions cuz he or she had nothing to say (actually they changed 4 managers) and kept sending the same rules that had a million meanings and nothing to do about my case. Also the manager said that they would give it back if I or somebody from my family would die. Thank you for stealing the last that I had and leaving me with less than 10$ on my card starving. I just clicked on a random button to get an information and now have real problems with managing how to live and, by today, 2 days of a constant stress with panic attacks.
Also when I booked a hotel in Berlin previously they forgot to send me a confirmation and I wasted 5 hours, the whole first day basically, on the first floor of the hotel contacting support to get everything needed for reaching my room :)

I cannot believe what these guys get away with. Never in my life have I experienced such low-rate customer service. Passed through 4 reps over 3 days to make a simple flight change. They do not have a direct line to contact and any issues (however urgent) must be processed through the app. Over the course of several days I was unable to have the issue resolved, and was speaking with reps who did not even know what time zone I was in. All said and done they cost me over $700 in additional fees to return home. This app is entirely unethical, and majorly flawed. Not recommended in the least! I would love to go into more detail, but space here is limited. Absolutely useless service. I am downright disgusted with how it was handled. DO NOT BOOK WITH HOPPER!

AN absolute joke of a company. There is no one to call and when you do get ahold of someone, they are in India and barely understand or speak english. The practice of this company is lure you in on a good price and then right before you are supposed to travel, they bend you over and... you
Avoid and book direct through the airlines, this company is a joke and does not care about its customers AT ALL.

Each item-even if done on one reservation will be charged a mandatory tip: surprise! You need to realize that when you pass by anything that had a check and you don't uncheck the box, you will be charged a VIP charge for every segment of your reservation and that allows you to "tap on the bear" and ask a question. The bear responds "oops! Check back later" and this went on for days.
No place to enter your miles numbers on reservations. No place to indicate that you need assistance on a flight or are accompanied by a service animal.
They overinflated taxes and "services" when the airlines charge is $29, the charge you get is $230. For my $289 flight, they added on over $300 in extra charges
You will not be able to avoid calling the airlines anyway and waiting on hold to get your seat, add your miles number and get your meal choice and/or wheelchair.
Read the terns- they are asking that you sign away what are actually your civil rights! That's complete BS- that's not even possible.
This site should be shut down.
I suggest you contact you State Attorney General's Office and every authority possible if you have used this service and paid these fees.

Firstly, let me preface my review by stating that if I could give Hopper zero stars, I would.
I used Hopper to research direct flights from LA to Portland and then returning. I have Delta air miles and so specifically looked at Delta flights and only Delta flights. I did find flights that suited my schedule and 'watched' them until Hopper informed me they had reached a price I was happy to purchase them for. When I saved my flights (in order to watch them), I double checked the details so as to be sure I was watching the correct journey. All seemingly fine. Then I go to price freeze… I paid $90 to freeze the advertised price for a week so I could complete the transaction when I had more time. Hopper sent me a confirmation but when I opened the confirmation, not only was the price more expensive than what they'd advertised, they froze a completely different and random return leg - A Spirit flight that left at 6am with a three hour stop over in Vegas. Why? Firstly, I would never take a 6am flight. Secondly, I would never choose a stop over on such a short flight. Thirdly, I would never fly with Spirit. My point being, I would never, NEVER have even researched that flight so it's impossible for it to be the option I chose to price freeze! This leads me to my second point… Customer service is nonexistent. You literally can't get through to a human. Miraculously though, a few minutes after I Tweeted about my experience, I got an email. Curious… Anyway, a long story short: Hopper's condescending customer support agent simply told me it was my mistake and there was nothing they could do about it. I should have checked the details of the price freeze before agreeing to it. Yes, In hindsight this would have been the right thing to do. But in my defense, because I was only ever following one specific route, I naively assumed that that would be the route I was paying for. BEWARE: I suspect this is a scam. Hopper is a company lacking integrity and seem to be making money from unsuspecting customers. My guess is that the money comes from the un refundable fee you pay for flights you're never going to purchase because the details are wrong.

The product and policies are designed on this app to scam customers. Not on one but multiple occasions this app has scammed me. Will not recommend to anyone. Not even to try because they will get ya.
Incident 1 - I bought my flight from Seattle to New Delhi on this app. They got my name wrong (they had my first and middle name as my first name). This resulted in me not being able to fly internationally because my name didn't not matched with my passport. I reached out to customer service and got no help at all. Instead they told me to cancel the flight. Luckily, I did bought insurance in case I cancel the flight to get full refund. To my surprise, I did not get full refund because portion of the fare I paid using Hopper Cash. Interesting part is the money in Hopper cash was there because I canceled a car rental and Hopper deposited that money in my Hopper account as a Hopper cash. So, basically it was my money that they used and didn't have it back to me. Contacted the customer service again and got pre written script as a response from the agent.
Incident 2 - I gave benefit of the doubt and thought it can't be that bad. So this time I booked my return flight from Seattle to Ahmedabad. Because I was going to India for a family emergency I knew that I might needed to change my flight to back home. So, I paid more than $200 for "cancel for any reason". Today I found out that I would have to change my flight because of some situations in family. I went to change my flight and found out I can't do that. Because, my insurance expired as I already boarded the original flight. So, I asked customer service agent "how would I know what is going to happen in the next 2 months? I bought this insurance because I knew I might need to change my flight when I am coming back." Got back pre written script. No empathy given. Resulted in me either not change my flight or pay extra to the airline while I lost the insurance money I paid to Hopper.
They have the worst customer service as well. Their agents are just there to tell you NO for everything. I have not come across one person who has empathy and understand the frustration and results of this companies bad policies. Please stay away from this app. You will waste your money. Most importantly I'm times of need this company does not have your back even though you buy their made up insurances. It is a full blown legal scam.

I bought a flight tickets and they charge my card and I have no flight. No way of getting in touch and I am still don't have 900 back I am pissed!

Booked flight to St. John had to cancel because of Covid. Was told by hopper that tickets could be used within one year. Decided to book a flight to savanna and was nearly impossible to reach. Finally left speaker on for over one hour, finally talked to someone which started the nightmare. Was quoted 3800 plus's my credit for St. John booking(1046.)Again took forever to reach supervisor, was told we had only one year to use credit. At this point we called delta and booked first class to savanna less than my credit for St. John flight and found out I had 2 years to use flight credit. This site is horrible. Don't even consider them.

Paid a $25 fee to freeze a flight priced at $512 for 12 days. The flight went up $124 yet hopper claims it went up to $1700 and that they didn't have my flight available. Don't sell me an insurance policy that you can't keep! Complete false advertising! Lots of fine print you can't actually find in their site - only after calling. Their excuse was there were other flights for less but that's not what I invested in! Fortunately I had screen shots proving I locked in at my set price but they stood firm stating it wasn't in their inventory/contract. I've used kayak for years and disappointed they'd be affiliated with a company like this!

Be careful when you make a reservation. You get confirmation and they just rebook you to another day without informing you.
I went to the airport paid for Uber and when i got there they told me that the flight got cancelled and my flight will be the next day. They really don't care if you are loosing money and you have to work and give all the responsibility to the airline and tell you to get in touch with the airline and that they are not responsible. But when they take your money they fight tell you that the airline us responsible. I rather pay couple of dollars more and book with Expedia because at least they take responsibility fir their action.

Haven't been able to get a refund back for a cancelled flight. The only communication I get is from automatic email bots. There is no phone number listed, no contact name, the Hopper website is bogus with no real information. The company is a total scam. I have now joined a facebook group of people from all over the world who are planning a class action suit.

Hopper changed the policy of the "Freeze" so instead of the amount you spent to freeze the flight going towards your flight, it's just an additional fee for them to keep! So you'll pay the freeze amount on top of the flight price. They didn't notify customers of this policy change. This isn't convenient for people at all. Literally no point of using this app. Your better off with Kayak or booking directly with the airline. My flight was $227 each so I paid $452.96 and an additional $176 smh. NEVER AGAIN!

Answer: File a claim with your bank. They charged me An additional 2 nights after hopper said they would refund my money. Instead they went without my consent n charged me an additional 2 nights. I was robbed for a total of 3 nights. Without being able to contact any support. A total Scam!
Answer: No they are about polar opposite of trustworthy. Run don't walk away from this company. My lesson cost $1435 dollars. If you require customer service look elsewhere they have none. Not even a phone number which is the first red flag.
