While I typically love using this app to book flights and find the cheapest, most convenient options, the customer service is absolutely terrible. I try to maintain a patient, open mind to these things as I understand the high volume of requests that come in. However, waiting for over a week (and still waiting!) to hear back from anyone in the company is completely unacceptable. Only having a semi-functioning chat option and no direct phone number does not make this customer service 24/7. I am worried that the more time I wait for someone to let me change my flight, as I can only do so through Hopper, airfare will go up and there will not be flight availability. This is completely inappropriate and unprofessional and I will no longer be using Hopper after this experience. Can someone from the support team please just get back to me? Again, I have been waiting A WEEK. Disappointed, anxious, and making my booking experience more stressful than ever.

They claimed to have Customer Support 24/7. I have not been contacted from Hopper in more than 24 hours after I initially contact them. Unacceptable.

I have used Hopper exclusively for some years now. The savings to myself, friends and family have been several hundreds! Working directly with any airlines gives you the cost at that moment. You will never get a message from them telling you, oh hey, wait ours prices will be dropping, we'll let you know!

I have booked a flight and paid the $11 Cancel For Any Reason add-on. I need to cancel the flight but can't get anyone to respond to the chat for over 2 days now. I have called the airline and they said it is a non-refundable ticket. If that is the case, why sell me the Cancel for Any Reason option? The biggest issue I have is no one ever responds to messages to even try and help or give me any information. There seems to be no other way to contact anyone except via chat. If their goal is customer satisfaction then they need to respond or have other ways for contact. This is frustrating and I would not recommend this company for any travel needs.

**UPDATE**
Since I wrote this review and gave them a rating of 1, I was finally contacted by their support staff and the apologized for their delayed response and said they are experiencing high chat volumes and that their customer support is a high priority for them. They have resolved my problem and canceled my flight like I requested. I have since changed my rating to a 3. The only reason I'm keeping this review out there is so others keep this in mind when using their service.

Avoid at all costs

0 of 5 stars if it were possible. Hong Kong Airlines canceled US flights, and when contacted, they require me to communicate through my so-called booking agency, Hopper. In two weeks, Hopper has responded only 2 times, and this only to inform me that someone will be with me shortly. They have no telephone number with which to call, and you can only talk with them through the in app chat, which they respond to about once a week.
Avoid this agency at all costs. I will be reporting these guys to the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to not allow them to scam future customers.

False advertising

Booked a resort hotel for a sweet price of $80 a night. When we get there we are notified that in order to get the price we purchased from hopper we must take a 90 minute tour. None of this was in the fine print! I contacted customer service who took 2 days to get back to me. They said that the tour was voluntary. It definitely was not! If we didn't take the tour we would have to pay full price. We sat through a tour with two kids under 3 years old.
When I spoke to the hopper rep, he told me to talk to a manager at the front desk because there's nothing he can do. They supposedly told him we volunteered to sit through a seminar with our babies. Who in their right mind would ever volunteer to do such a thing if it wasn't forced

Ruined honeymoon

HORRIBLE
November 12, 2019

I booked my son a flight home for Christmas. I went back to the flight and checked on what a change would cost... didn't confirm or even go to a payment page... and Hopper changed his flight and charged my card! It's not even the right date! And I cannot get anyone from Hopper to answer my stupid CHAT messages, because gawd forbid you ever actually get to talk to someone! Does anyone have any insight for me? Had I read these reviews first, I would have NEVER downloaded this App!

Don't use them

No way to contact customer service by phone. What if you are at the airport on an international flight and there is a problem? You are expected to use this chat service, it's been one day and still no response!

Booked my airline ticket using Hopper, the price was a little cheaper than the airline itself.
The service is good.
I had to change the return flight, i did that using the app. Texting and chatting with hopper employees until i was satisfies with the change and then confirmed with them.
To get good results when changing return flight dates, check with the airline website first for the same available fare dates and have options for dates to provide to hopper employees.
Overall it was a good experience.

Booked and paid for 2 round trip flights for someone due to scheduling concerns. Advised Hopper that although on the second booking the flight was not taken to destination, the return flights were needed. Not only did they simply ignore my emails, but after 6 hours of on the phone and emailing back and forth, they not only were not willing to help, I ended up having to book a third and fourth return flight to get my son and husband home. 6 hours and probably 30 emails and no help, no discount offered, nothing. Customer service insisted they could not call me to discuss and when I did finally get a call, they would not help at all. Low prices, sure, because they are busy reselling flights that they cancel without permission!

I am so frustrated with hopper. I have been trying to get customer support for about 12 hours and still no resolution. I continue to send messages through their app, which is pointless. At this rate, I will not be able to reschedule a flight suffice it can only be done through them. Be forewarned that customer support is virtually nonexistent. They do not have a a number to soak to a live operator and you will be waiting forever for someone to make contact with you through the app and when they finally do, they will say we are busy and will help you soon... still waiting. Then they end their message with please be patient. I think it's fair to say that I have been patiently waiting for over 12 hours. My patience is about gone.

I am disappointed in the app. My sister purchased tickets and actually ended up paying more than if she went directly through Spirit. Although, the representatives were knowledgeable and friendly, we waited over 30 minutes for someone on the chat. No phone available (only chat online to speak with someone.) All to find out there's nothing they can do to cancel/change the reservation, and refused to refund the cancellation fee (even though the site says many times cancellations within 24 hrs wouldn't be an issue, with no penalty, and we wrote immediately after placing the reservation.)

The app was helpful in finding the lowest price, but I would have told my sister not to purchase from the app because 1. It wasn't a better deal 2. Customer service takes a very long time to get a hold of.

My son went to check in on Hopper app for his flight today and to our shock and surprise, Hopper had cancelled his flight without notifying him (the passenger) or me (the payee). No phone number to be found anywhere for Hopper app Customer Service. Called American Airlines and they were the ones who told us Hopper app had cancelled his flight! Being he has to be at work, 14 hours away, we had to purchase a plane ticket for today on the same flight that Hopper app had cancelled. The price was crazy. I have been sending emails to Hopper app 24/7 customer service but no one has called me or emailed me to resolve the situation. Actually, they sent me a link for my son to check-in but the link will not open! I will be contacting the US Transportation Department tomorrow as well as US government agencies linked to businesses and aviation to file a complaint with Hopper app. Appears from many reviews on various social media websites that many people have had the same experience we have had with Hopper app.
