Went online to look for yearly coupons. None unless you spend a 100 dollars. Went to their Huntsville store and asked for the smallest ham. It was 7.3 pounds and cost a whopping 88 dollars. Paid and then my wife asked about coupons. They had one for 7 dollars off but didn't honor it because we just paid. This came from the so called manager. I have a high income but won't return because of the price gouging. Not worth it. A poor value. The hand taste good but are unhealthy and severely overpriced. The stores want to overcharge as a fair profit isn't good enough.

This company has literally denied my mother what may be her last Thanksgiving meal and they don't care. My mother is battling cancer. Thanksgiving Day is also her 74th Birthday. With her cancer it may be her last Thanksgiving. I ordered a full honey baked ham meal with sides and desserts to be shipped as she is not well enough to cook. A portion of the ordered arrived. A cake and a few of the sides. I called "customer service" and was told there was nothing they could do. Even with a store 20 minutes away, they could not figure out a way to get a ham on a dying woman's table for Thanksgiving. Despicable. Honey Baked has been a part of our family's holidays for decades. NEVER again will I give a dime to such a heartless company.

Visited the Honey Baked Ham at Southridge in South Charleston WV for the first time in about three years. I ordered the meal and was very disappointed considering the price. The Tavern Club was great. I ordered it with Swiss instead of Cheddar but, that was the only thing that was good. It use to be when you ordered a meal it came in a box with your sandwich, side, a pickle, and a cookie. Apparently you no longer get the pickle and cookie. The Tavern Club was really good but the potato salad was bland and tasteless, no seasoning of any kind, not even salt. They were very limited on choice of soft drinks also. Considering I paid $16 and change for this thing the value of the meal is just not worth the price for a sandwich with a couple slices of meat with tomato and lettuce. I more than likely will not be back.

Burnt, dry ham
May 15, 2025

I ordered a bone-in quarter ham for Mother's Day. We drove an hour and a half one way to Sacramento to pick up the ham. We arrived shortly after the store opened, and we were the first and only customers in the store. Usually the store is packed and has long lines on major holidays. We have purchased Honey Baked Hams for over 40 years from various locations, and we have always been very pleased with how they looked and how wonderful they tasted. When we uncovered the ham on Mother's Day to heat and serve it, we were shocked at its appearance. The ham looked burnt. The glaze had all cracked off the ham and was on the bottom of the aluminum foil wrapping. The ham tasted as dry as it looked. (See attached photos). We are very disappointed with our purchase and don't plan to order from Honey Baked Hams for any upcoming holidays in the future as we have always done in the past. As I went to post my review online, I noticed the last posting from A. O. from three months ago. The ham he purchased looks very similar to the one I bought. Apparently, this burnt, dry ham occurrence has not been remedied.

Easter Ham St. Charles IL
April 19, 2025

I preordered ham and sides. I received an email confirming and another to remind me to pick it up. When I arrived at noon, my pick up time, the location did not have any food left. The store manager came out and to scold the customers in line because she was faced with unhappy customers inside. Those of outside had no idea what she was talking about as Honey Baked never informed anyone they could not fulfill preordered and prepaid orders. The employee then began to cry, then threaten everyone in the line with calling the police (which she did). Nobody was challenging her, she was just having her own breakdown at the customers expense. It was both sad and frustrating. Apparently this had been going on for 2 days and 100s of customers did not get their prepaid orders. I can't believe they are still in business.

HONEY BAKED HAM SCAM!
April 16, 2025

I purchased a Honey Baked Ham and Turkey breast online. I chose to use my rewards towards my purchase. However, when my payment was processed my rewards were not applied! I called the Honey Baked Ham Company. Response? Sorry, you will have to contact your local store. The local store response? Sorry, rewards are handled by corporate. Sigh. Obviously, Honey Baked Ham Company is running a scam on customers.

Be Careful What you Write on the Customer Survey
March 4, 2025

Be Careful What you Write on the Customer Survey …. If it is not to the owner's liking, you be refused service on your next visit. I was asked to fill out a Customer Survey based on my visit, and subsequently filled out the survey on-line. When I made a return visit (Middletown Honey Baked Ham at 770 Rt. 25 S.) the owner refused to serve me and asked for me to leave the store because I was no longer welcomed. Really? Yes, based on my comments to the online survey, that I was asked to fill out by the way, the new owner from Connecticut refused to serve me and stated I can no longer come into the store. I simply filled out the survey as I was asked to do because they are new to the area. My store ratings varied and my comment on the sales person rating stated something to effect, "it is disgusting to have a person with an unkept nose ring take your order and then serve you lunch... ugh!" Well, these comments did not sit well with the new owner. I found out the salesperson with the unkept nose ring that served be lunch on my last visit, happened to be her daughter. And because of my comment, the owner refused to take my order and asked me to leave; no longer welcomed in the store … but, stating if I promise to never give a poor rating in the future, because it's bad for business, I was welcome to stay. Are you kidding me? Is this how it is done in Connecticut. They ask you to fill out a survey and if you provide a good rating, that's o.k. But a rating not to their liking they will refuse to serve you and ask you to leave. Not sure if that is even legal. BTW, prior to this new owner, I had given many high reviews in the past. But, an unkept nose ring during lunch is still an ugh with zero stars assigned to the salesperson!

I spent 200 dollars on a turkey and ham. It was delivered thawed out Dec 20. Then had to sit in my fridge for 5 days until Christmas. I called the company and they said it's good for about 7 days. So great - 200 dollars wasted because who knows how long that ham and turkey was in transit for shipping and at least 5 days in my fridge so we tossed it out. So annoyed they didn't ship closer to the holiday or send it frozen. To get a ham/turkey a week before the day you want it and to get it thawed out is annoying. What a big waste of money.

They will defraud you

I purchased two $50 gift cards from HBH, then they would not honor the cards. The customer service is clearly not in the US as English is clearly not the first language.

Food prepared incorrectly.
February 15, 2024

I have been a long time customer in the Orlando area. The product was good, the price competitive. No more. I went to the store on Eustis, FL yesterday and placed an order for a ham classic sandwich and a roasted classic sandwich. I asked for both sandwiches to be prepared with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and banana peppers. Since we had good experiences previously in Orlando, I assumed that the sandwiches were prepared properly. BIG Mistake. At home, we uncovered the sandwiches, NO onions or banana peppers but there was mayonnaise on both sandwiches which I NEVER ordered since my son is allergic to mayonnaise. I called the store the next day, no answer 15 mins. After opening. I called customer service, very rude and abrasive, they are sorely lacking in people skills. I called the Pres. Office and spoke with Dominique, wouldn't do anything. Clearly, HBH does NOT value customer loyalty. Also, the portions are MUCH smaller, and the price is MUCH higher. I went online and found over 200 BAD reviews, 3 good reviews. That should tell you everything you need to know - what company deserves your business and take care of you if there is a problem. For me it is NOT HBH.

The taste and quality has changed for the worst!
January 15, 2024

We have enjoyed ordering and eating the Honey Baked Ham for Christmas for years. We also sent them as gifts to family.
This past Christmas we ordered and received in a timely basis. But when we opened the box and tried to eat the ham for dinner it was awful! It was dry and tasteless. I have never tasted such a bad ham! For the huge cost of the ham we were very disappointed with the product! We will not be purchasing any more in the future!

January 4, 2024

We just thaw and serve so no cooking additional on our part and it was dry. The guests asked was it tofu by the looks of the turkey it was so different in color and texture. Very disappointed.

No honey taste, just extremely salty
January 1, 2024

I have bought honey baked hams for 20 yrs or more, and I have never had one taste as my Christmas one did. There was not a bit of a honey taste, and it was dry. The saltiness was so extreme that no one could eat it. It was a weird taste, like it was left in brine water. It also tasted odd, like artificial preservatives were infused in it. I am extremely disappointed and will never purchase one again. What has changed in the production?

Terrible
December 28, 2023

Serves me right! Thought I could take a shortcut and buy a spiral ham and cheesy potatoes. Was I wrong! I purchased the 8 pound bone-in ham.The ham was moist but so overly smoked it was almost inedible. The kids spit it out. This from a family that likes BBQ. Just not for a holiday ham.The cheesy potatoes had no integrity and were watery. I would have been better off with a box of Betty Crocker scalloped potatoes. Lesson learned $120 later. Don't be tempted. Make the ham and sides and buy a dessert!

My Christmas Ham 2023
December 28, 2023

I purchased a honey baked ham for Christmas for my family. It's been some years since I last had one. To my dismay I was surprised at how different it tasted. I did not taste any honey glaze at all. The ham itself was quite dry! Boy was I disappointed! I paid 84.00 for a dry blah tasting ham. Another thing to add, it was not spiral cut all the way through. I gave up on the ham after my second serving. At least I know someone was hacking on it taking chunks to work for lunch! I would have been better off with my traditional Walmart honey glazed spiral ham that I normally purchase. So much for Honey baked hams, that was the last one for me.

Dried out Ham
December 26, 2023

I purchased a bone in honeybaked ham for $100 for christmas. Disappointed in the taste and the look I will no longer be buying hams from this store anymore. The ham was dried out and had a stale old taste. Since Covid they don't allow you to look at the ham before purchase. I will no longer buy ham from the store ever again. My $100 was wasted..
